WAS!!!!!!!!! That is blasphemy! Actually, I actually picked it up quick when exposed to it, but I do well with language if I have a basic backround of it. Language comes naturally to me, like it did to my gramma, who spoke english, french, polish, ukrainian, austrian, a smatterring of german, and latin. At the age of 80 she was learning hebrew from the people at the bakery so she could better ask for what she wanted. I was doing the same thing at the Eastern European Market in Denver I would go to. The people there were so impressed with my learning, that every week they would give me 3 or 4 chocolate bars for my kids, and they had them priced at a dollar or more each. But wouldn't include them in the cost. They did have good smoked sturgeon though, and I do miss that. -
Sorry Hairyspin, just bein' my fiesty smart@$$ self. But hey, if I can figure out a way to get another ounce out of something, I will do it. Just to keep the gray matter exercised.

Ok, cool guys! I was wondering how to get that goin'. I will keep the mostly hidden parts of the engine very low poly, since they aren't seen anyways, and save them for the cool little details. Even if they can't be animated, just having them would be really neat. From all the tutleage you'se guys have given, I've become adept at figuring out where to save on polys, so if you need them elsewhere, they are there to be had.

Herr Olham, helfen mir mit mein Deutsch? Sorry, it has been too many years. I have forgotten so much, that a 5 year old has a better grasp than I do. Although when I hear some phrases, I can sometimes pick them out as to what is meant, but it is very difficult anymore. -
Very pretty picture indeed. But something is missing. Oh yeah! The view should be from my DVa as I peer across that powerful Mercedes DIII with muzzle flashes, and little sparks flying off around the Se's cowling as I fill the engine with 7.62mm rounds from my twin Spandaus. Very nice looking models honestly though. Alway, always, even as a kid, the WWI, and later biplanes had me captivated.

No it isn't bad at all man! Considering the boundaries that we have to consider with the CFS3 base software, I think its great. Just have to figure out how to get them rockers and valves animated. Do you have any ideas on how one could simulate valve springs? It is perplexing for me. With the inline 6, I don't have to worry about any cooling fins on the cylinders. It's pretty straight forward on it. Block, cylinders, intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds, and collector pipes.

Looks real nice there BH! I don't to be critical of other's work on their dreations, as I'm sure the creator sees every little flaw and crucifies themselves enough without adding to fire, or lets just say, I don't want to try to put out a fire with a big bucket of gasoline.

Man, you ain't kiddin' there Sky High! I held on to the boxed 169.XX drivers for my old 8800TS cards for almost a year, as they were the only ones that worked with all my games and no issues like triangles or shading issues, or a host of other anomolies that can frequently drive the computer simmer nuts. OFF was fairly the most stable through it all, and probably due to the fact that it uses CFS3 as a base. I have the new drivers downloaded and yet to install them. I really need to go over to eVGA and check if they have them yet, as they will tweak them to work with the eVGA product line, and keep the CP the same.

Been busy trying to assimilate the SDK. Hairyspin tutored me well, like a Jedi Apprentice. And soon, I will be the master. Sorry, couldn't help myself. I went through the Halb CLII, and really reduced the polys, as I was without a compass on what a good average should be, but HS put me right on it. Though it was fun seeing just how realistic I could make it look, and then also some issues with the wingroot and how the polys would get all snarled up there causing smoothing issues. Thankfully, the correction was quite simple. So with the plane as she sits, and this is without all the details of course, is right around 2000 polys. That's 2 wings, fuselage, spinner, tail feathers, wheels, and the interior walls for the cockpit and engine bay. But I still have to build the cockpit innerds, and pieces parts, and the guns, and a low poly Mercedes DIII. But I am going to make a base block with cylinders and save that as is before detailing it out, so I have a base for the BMW 185hp. inline, as it is close enough that I can make a few adjustments and have the basics worked out, and just deal with the plumbing and all for the details. One thing I am trying to figure out, is how to represent the elastic cord that was used for shock absorbing for the axle. So I'm wondering how to get that part sorted out, as I really would like to avoid just putting a blob or rectangle on the gear. I want to make a second variation of the plane as it did get issued with a coil spring setup when rubber got scarce. It's an easy mod, as the axle had a fairing over it and the braces that support the gear horizontally. Cool thing is, the axlw doesn't splay as it is a straight axle. -

Lookin' good there Bh! Lookin' good! -
Cool! I will have to try them, but it seems like just yesterday that I updated to the last set of nvidia drivers, so I've been putting it off.

Whats your favorite refrigerated barley unit of choice within the mess?
ConradB replied to appraiserfl's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
I consumed too much when I was younger, and can't partake anymore of the fuit of the vine or the fermentation of wheat barley hops or rye. But I did like Newcastle Brown Ale, I think it was Boddingtons stout, Guiness, Augsberg, Red Stripe Lager and lime, Becks Dark, and any other German dark brews. Stella, and another lager from New Zealand, and the "oilcans" of beer from Austrailia. German wines were a favorite, especially on a cold winter day, heated to warm, with a stick of cinnimon, especially gluwein(?). Definitely shook of the chill with that. -

Don't sweat it Stumpjumper. My best friend in school sufferred from severe dyslexia. I used to have to translate his papers for Miss Olsen, which I didn't mind. She was a young lady fresh outta college, and I enjoyed every minute of it. That was of course back when there were no special ed classes in the public school system. -
Yes, if the vidcards get any bigger, they will need external mountings for them. The Nvidia cards are the same. And I thought this huge Antec 900 case was a big box.

Offensive tackle, and defensive guard here. I was 6 ft, and 210. All the muscle though over the last few years has settled around the midsection though. That's about the bottom line of it there OVS. Darn knees and ankles have been acting up this winter for some reason too.

OT Message to the Tornado Crew

I know that one Widowmaker. The ex-Mrs and I lived in the east/ west landing path to the old Stapleton Airport in Denver. On a holiday weekend, we were suprised by the rumble of piston engined aircraft. Going out into the yard, we were treated to a B-29, B-17, and B-24, followed by 4 B-25s, and 7 P-51s. All at the same time, and everything in the house rattled. The china in cabinet even rattled and you could watch a glass on the dining table move as it vibrated from the engine noise. The ex became a real warbird watcher after that. She works close to a small airpark on the south side of Denver now, and calls me everytime she hears or sees an old warbird take off or land. But having all those old bombers fly over at once, it made the fillings in your teeth rattle. -
Hard for me to tell flying for the Kaiser. The only time I see krumpet bombs fall, they are still attached to the aeroplane carrying them. But then, they are obscured by the thick plumes of smoke spewing from the engine cowling.

Single malt, or blend? A good sippin' single malt whiskey is a good one by itself, like well aged Kentucky bourbon. I don't know if I'd want to use either for a boiler maker though. -
Only thing that would have made it even better, would have been to have a mix of fixed pitch 2 bladed hurricanes and a few 2 speed pitch versions like they originally had, but since there were only 2 or 3 Hurricanes flying back then, using Spits was more practical.

Albatros - Graceful in the air, but...
ConradB replied to Olham's topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
It happenned out west quite a bit. The twin Piper we used to use for S & R had a nasty habit of doing it between 50 and 100 ft above ground. But that could also be attributed to the 5,280ft ground level there. Thinner air, and summer was the worst with the darn thermals. It became a habit watching where the hawks were soaring. -
Those levers are for cocking the guns to prepare for firing.

Bh, you should try a a p or q of a half and mixture of Guiness and hard cider. Careful though, after 6 or 7 of them, the cops look like they're only 3 feet tall. Must say, I like mushy peas. Good with just about anything from fish & chips, to sausage rolls, and steak and kidney pie. -

You're not the only one. It caught me offguard too, as there aren't many sims that have ground effect modelled ino them. -
The streaked finish was the way the pigment was applied to the fabric. Voss' DR-I was said to be a silvery blue color. At least that is how profile artists represent it. I have a 1/48th scle either Eduard or Revell kit, that is in the markings of Kemp's plane from Jasta 2 I think it is. It's an older kit though that rescued from a rubbish bin. It's still in the box, as I haven't had the desire to assemble it.
