About wmorgan

  1. I have not installed the Oct 08 patch to my WOE set-up because I'm concerned about the effect on the dozens of mods I have installed. I now am downloading some of the newer A/C which function fine, so far as I can tell, except that at the end of the mission when the ESC key is pressed I get an immediate CTD. Is there a fix or change that can be made to the newer A/C to eliminate the problem? I have looked in the knowlege base without success. As an example, I just acquired the new SU-27SM and installed it into my WOE. It works well right up to the time you exit, then the game crashes. BTW, I am running WOE on Vista. Any assistance will be appreciated.
  2. I am getting an immediate CTD on this A/C when any function is selected after the initial cockpit view. I am running it in a WOE install for WWII only, NOT patched up with the October 08 patch. All other recent add-on A/C work fine, including the new Wellington. Is this a patch related issue? If so, is there a fix to allow it to run in my current set-up, without the new patch. I'm holding off on that to look at the feedback on how the new patch will affect my WWII game. I like the A/C and would like to have it in my game. Thanks,
  3. Great airplane! I am getting a CTD at end of mission in WOE when I press ESC to end. Any ideas what the problem could be? I am running a new pentium dual core prosessor with Vista OS. The other aircraft work fine. Thanks.
  4. This might be interesting to some. In my WWII install of WOE, I flew an anti-ship mission flying a Boston MkIII. I've done a little modification to some of the warships in my groundobjects file so the single "create a mission" program picks up those warships as cargo ships and sets them up as targets. In this particular mission I was given the aircraft carrier Formidable as the target. I have found that carriers won't sink, no matter how much they are hit, but I went ahead with the mission just to see what I could do. After chasing off the fighter cover by downing a couple of Bf110s, I made the bomb run on the carrier and got a couple of hits with 500lb bombs, with no apparent results. With little left to do, I decided to try a landing on the carrier. By using a dead slow approach, touching down on the very end of the deck and quickly hitting the brakes, the Boston stopped within the first third of the deck. I turned it around, taxied back to the aft end of the deck and took off again, holding the brakes on until the engines were at 100% power. She came off the front end of the deck at about 150 knots and was flying. This was the first time I have tried a carrier landing and takeoff using an aircraft without a tailhook. It seemed to work just fine. I tried to upload some pics of the Boston on the carrier deck, but I haven't yet mastered the trick of reducing the size of the screenshots so they can be uploaded. Sorry about that.
  5. I have been registered on the site for about two years and have used the site frequently, but tonight I tried to downloan an SF file and got the message that I did not have eneugh posts to download. Have the rules changed? What is the requirement? Thanks.
  6. I have noticed that for some add-on aircraft, the WOE single mission dialog box does not recognise the entire length of service of the AC as stated in the DATA ini. The problem seems to be random, but for example, the FA-18A has service dates up to 2010, but the mission drop down box for date of mission only goes to something like 1989. Without the latest mission dates, the weapons selection seems to eliminate some of the newest options. Has anyone else noticed the problem? Is there a fix? Thanks.
  7. I seem to recall a thread on one of the SF forums that described how to get the weapons loadout for your wingman and other accompanying flights to conform to the loadout selected for the lead aircraft. Any ideas on where that might be located? Thanks in advance.
