Calling Streakeagle.....
Jimbib posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Hey Streakeagle, I've got a bit of an OT question for ya. At the end of July I'm off to Florida for 3 weeks, going to Orlanda for the first two, and then West Palm Beach for the last. What my question is, do you know of perhaps any good aircraft museums in the area or maybe an airshows on at that time? Since I see you live in Tampa which isn't too far away, I thought you may have a good idea of the area :) Any info greatly appreciated :) Jim -

Hey guys thanks for the replies!!!!! Apologies for not getting back to you, been running around like a blue arsed fly trying to get everything ready. I'm off tomorrow for my hols, and hopefully I'll be able to make it to some of the places you've mentioned :) If there's a chance I'll be in your area streakeagle, I'll give ya a buzz on a pm :) -
Can ya guess what this is?

Started this plane this afternoon and have gotten relatively far with it. about 7 and bit thousand polys so far, so have got a few to dabble with. You may be thinking its a P-51, but its not, its a British little known look-a-like from WW2. The company that made it aren't famous for making planes but they sure are for something else vital to a plane Also, Nimrod is still WIP and much on the agenda -

Buff and Wrench you'e bang on target Martin Baker Mb.5 it is. And hell yeah, if I can pull this off it'll be great fun as a what-if add-on lol. Sky Captain you're quite correct, it does look a lot like the P-51, even had the same big airscoop underneath and skinny fuselage. Had quite a different cockpit as well which I don't recall seeing on any fighter aircraft since..... -

No one here has an obligation to help you. However due to the very nice nature of the people that post here, anyone who will know how to solve a problem will 99% give their advice which will hopefully help your problem out. Should that not tell you anyone who knows how to solve your problem or maybe could help with your problem has not seen your post yet. You can pretty much be guarenteed however that when someone in the know comes across it, they will probably try to help you out. -

Sounds like you know you're stuff when it comes to 3D modelling :) The best of luck to ya! Also, the eurofighter is in the works from marcfighter too. I don't know if you've heard of this website, but its not too bad for blueprints of planes.... http://www.airwar.ru/indexe.html Its got an awful lot of 3 views there, very high rez for nearly all of them. By the way, welcome aboard -

Cool stuff Buff, thanks for the update :) I've heard that the RCS of an aircraft in SFP1 is just a simple one line entry in the data.ini but does anyone know where exactly it is and what the command is? Just curious for messing around with some stuff :) Thanks -
making a helicopter ground object
Jimbib replied to a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Isn't there a helicopter as a ground object in JSF_Aggie's DBS 72 campaign? Could be worth asking him about it. -

dirty exhaust
Jimbib replied to a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Hey zerocinco, I think I might have found the beginning of what you're looking for. Is it something along the lines of this.... This is the airshowemitter from the A-Team's red arrows gnat T1. I've just changed the colour settings so it will appear white. Making it bigger and more of it is not a problem and also if you want forward moment on the emitted effect thats easy to do too. Jim -

Aggressor skin pack for the F-19 Stealth fighter/bomber by Julhelm. This pack represents 8 of the paint schemes used by the USN VFC-13 Saints adversary squadron. Installation: To install these skins you must first have the F-19 Stealth installed. Extract the main folder "F-19_Aggressors" to a temporary folder. Inside you will find separate rars for each skin. )I put each skin in its own rar to keep size down) Now extract each rar to its own folder. Place these separate skin folders into the F-19 folder and away you go. Don't worry about adding entries to the F-19.ini file, each skin has its own textureset.ini file. This pack includes the paint schemes for the following aggressors of VFC-13: No.00 No.05 No.10 No.15 No.23 No.24 No.31 No.47 Credits: F-19 Stealth - Julhelm VFC-13 Aggressor skins - bibbolicious Feel free to use these skins for any repaints you may want to do, just make sure I'm credited for the original skins and Julhelm for the F-19. P.S. For choosing each skin I have labelled them according to their aircraft number e.g. "VFC-13 No.15" etc. I know that this does not tell you the colour of the scheme, but don't worry, there's a colour patch included with each skin so its easy peasy. Any problems or queries, don't hesitate to contact me, I can be found posting at the Simhq, Column5, Combatace and Thirdwire forums. Have fun, bibbolicious -

Apparently the "radar footprint" is variable in the game however, I've heard its just a simple line edit in one of the ini files.

video capture
Jimbib replied to Falcon161's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
All depends on what windows OS you're using. If you're on ME you'll have to have this one..... Windows ME Fraps Or if you're on XP or 2000, then this is the appropriate version..... Windows XP and 2000 Fraps Jim -

A program such as FRAPS works very well. When you have the video captured you'll have to compress it to attain a practically sized file. -

A Desert Camo scheme for the recently released F-19 from Julhelm. This is a very high rez skin (2048") so for those of you with lower-end just re-size to 512" or 1024". To use this skin simply right click on the file and select "Extract to DesertScheme". Then place the extracted folder into your F-19 folder and you're all set. Feel free to use this skin for mod you may want to make, just notify me beforehand. Enjoy and go fly! Bibbolicious -

Hey Heck You can get SFP1 at Circuit City for only five dollars for those in the US. Here's the link Circuit City SFP1 This is the ValueSoft edition and is already patched to number 3. You'll have to add patch 3.1 and 3.2 to it. Have fun! :) Jim
