  1. Hi all,

I have installed the Afghanistan map and boy that's a lot of fun. I am working on making it 2010 Afghanistan and would like to know if anyone is working on something similar or are planning to.

I get my info from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Security_Assistance_Force

Let me know if there are any interest in making a "wings over afghanistan" mod.

    Thank's

  2. Sound pack FEG(ONLY)Sopwith Camel Engine.

    View File

Sound Mod for First Eagles Gold(ONLY).

I have made custom engine sound for the 3 variants of Sopwith Camel, the sound is recorded engine sound from a real Camel.

You may or may not like these so i urge you to backup your original files before install.

I have included the originals of all files that will be overwritten by this mod(sound files)but you should still back up just in case.:)

    Install:

1- Put the 3 aircraft.DATA files in their respective folders inside Objects/Aircraft.........

2- Put the sound files in the /Sounds Folder.

The weapons files are made by Nixarass and i've included them because they go very well with the new engine sounds. Also i have made a new Windloop sound,

This is an essential file to get the most out of the engine sound.

    Thank You!

  3. I was on a two-ship recce mission earlier today. Just as we where closing in on the designated target area we where ambushed by two pairs of Neshers. Since we where flying the MIG23 i figured the best thing to do was to outrun them so we put the hammer down and sped south. Tactic was working fine until a pair of Mirage III's suddenly flanked us. We broke hard right but we did not really have to worry, the pilots of the Mirage's must have been very inexperienced as they both flew straight into a mountainside and went up in flames.

By this time i once again opened the throttle and let her have it, unfortunately i had become separated from my wingman at this point and he was lagging 5 miles behind. Just enough for the Neshers to catch up with him. I started thinking about what to do and decided that i had to get him off the hook, i turned around directly facing the oncoming Neshers. As i passed them doing 745kts they started to turn on my six and my wingman got away. One of the Neshers started to head home but the other one wanted to fight. I struggled to get on his six for a good 3 - 4 minutes and fired two Atoll D's at him, now this guy was no fool as he swiftly outmanouvered the incoming missiles. I went vertical and managed to slip in behind him a second time, fired off two Atoll A's only to see him break hard at the very last moment thus avoiding my last two birds of prey.

At this moment i figured it was best to haul ass and get outta there so i turned and burned, strangely the Nesher did the same. I guess he had enough for one day as did i. My Lead Mechanic snapped a couple of shots of me as i parked on the ramp, he said i looked; Numb. :)

PS.Before you go ranting about the external fuel tank; We are the Egyptian Air Force, we cannot afford to just drop stuff in the desert:P

  4. le missioneur kicks butt, there is nothing wrong with that program unless you are using it with strike fighters 2. Perhaps you have used it to place an air defense network that is not properly defined in the terrain files. Or maybe there is a problem with the weapon data for one of the objects you have inserted.

Thank's for sending me in the right direction:) I found that it was like you said, mods that interfered with Le.Missioneur.

    Thank you for helping out.

  5. Flyable MIG23's for WOI (ONLY)

I have taken the stock MIG 23's from WOI and made them flyable. Download them all as one package right here.

They all have cockpits and are ready to go.

I have included 1024x768 loading screens for those who want that resolution, go into the airplane folder and change the names of the files if you can't use 1680x1050.

Flyable MIG 23's pack for WOI only.

I have gathered the stuff from Combatace.com, credits go to:

    Armourdave

    Ordway

    Neles

    Sal

    Pasko

Please let me know if you find your work in this package without being properly credited.

    - Added Cockpit Seats to all models

    - Added landing lights to all models

    - Adjusted pylons to fix bug of ordnance being inside drop tank

    - Custom sounds

    - Adjustments of textures

    Installation:

1 BACKUP your original MIG23 models in folder /Aircraft and put them in a safe location

2 Copy the files inside aircraft folder to /Aircraft Don't forget to overwrite the existing files. You can alos just move the original files to a different location so you don't have to overwrite.

3 Copy the files inside /Sounds folder to /Sounds

4 Please check if you have avionics.70.dll as it is required.

    Go fly the awesome MIG23:)

  6. I didn't build the cockpits, I just made it so you could drop what was already available into the game without disturbing the existing flight models. The person who made the cockpits used his references to make the most accurate versions he could from the photos available. However, some cockpits were reused between similar types. At the same time, the stock 3d models of the MiGs are not necessarily 100% accurate since you weren't meant to fly them and should only see them from a distance while fighting them not as much time was spent detailing them. If want specific issues addressed with the cockpit details, you will have to contact the modders who created them. If you would like to see fixes to the exterior 3d models, go to the third wire forums and identify the faults to TK (with supporting documentation to support your claims). I don't see Third Wire making any stock flyable MiGs any time soon, if ever. Thankfully, some people fill in the gaps missed by TK FOR FREE!!!

I understand, thank's again for your work.

  7. Thank you for a great package, i really enjoy flying the MIG's. Now a couple of questions:

    1. The MIG21_PFM shows a canopy mounted mirror from inside the cockpit but nothing from the outside. Intentional or a bug?

    2. The MIG21F sows a solid wall behind the pilot seat but from the outside wiev it has an all round glass canopy. Again intentional or bug?

Thank's again for your time and effort to make the migs flyable.
