By gterlHere's a bit of drama for the FE (Gold or 2) Menu.
Works best with Guitarclassic55's menu add-on.
Theme: Palladio (K. Jenkins) with a bit of WW1 drama

By NixouIt's not without emotion that I withdraw from First eagles modding.
Since the continuous release of new amazing content at ridiculously low prices for Rise of Flight,
I can't find myself to keep working on my long time TK WW1 game.
As such I release my unfinished project "realistic engine sounds" soundpack "as is" with mostly finnished spare sound files that
modders can use for their projects or players that have some ini knowledge can use for their aircraft.
There are enough sounds for nearly all the WW1 aircraft. Clergets, Lerhône, gnome, Hispanosuiza, Oberursel, Mercedes, BMW, Bentley, Rollsroyce etc
All the sounds are cleaned and reworked recordings of the true original aircrafts/engine, which I got provided after contacting
many reenactor/museums of which I have lost the full list since months list so credit section will come in further update.
I was given permission to share for all the records I worked on.
Namology is as following:
"Nameofengine200" where 200 stands for 200 horsepower
M1 or M2 for modèle 1, modèle 2
May this be useful to First eagles survivors
By NixouNew more accurate and cleaner records provided by C2builder permitted me to do a more satisfying work on realistic gun sounds for first eagles.
The aim of maximal realism is the word here.
First version had some success, i hope you will like this one
To know wether you will like or not, i have made a small vid so you can get yourself an idea:
Two version included: a High volume and a low volume version. Youtube vid version is the high volume one.

By wretchedSound Mod for First Eagles Gold(ONLY).
I have made custom engine sound for the 3 variants of Sopwith Camel, the sound is recorded engine sound from a real Camel.
You may or may not like these so i urge you to backup your original files before install.
I have included the originals of all files that will be overwritten by this mod(sound files)but you should still back up just in case.:)
1- Put the 3 aircraft.DATA files in their respective folders inside Objects/Aircraft.........
2- Put the sound files in the /Sounds Folder.
The weapons files are made by Nixarass and i've included them because they go very well with the new engine sounds. Also i have made a new Windloop sound,
This is an essential file to get the most out of the engine sound.
By ChockHere's an alternative bullet hit sound for FE. This is something I'm still working on, but I wanted a more frightening sound when you get jumped and bullets start hitting stuff. It's debatable what you'd hear over an engine and the rush of the wind, but try it and see if you like it. Make a back up of your original 'Dirt Hit' sound first of course, then you can change it back if you don't like this one. Feel free to mess around with this or upload it anywhere you like. Have fun. - Al 'Chock' Bradbury
This is the 'PropLoop' sound file I'm using these days. I just thought some of you might like it.
Also, I've included an engine sample that better suits the early war, in-line engined aircraft...Adds a bit of variation. Use it with the following planes:
Installation instructions included in the 'Read Me'.
Hope ya like 'em.
Here's one for fans of the macabre!...A blood curdling scream and collision sound file, activated if/when you collide with another plane or terra-firma!
Two versions to choose from. Installation instructions included in the 'Read Me'.
Hopefully, it'll add a bit of drama to your game?
FE Sounds V.2 (Revised 8 March 09)
Some people were experiencing problems with some of these samples, so I've made some changes to the package. The "Read Me" will explain...
Aside from using authentic sound samples, in my opinion, the next most important aspect of decent sound within a game is balance. I therefore paid particular attention to this when editing these files. As an example, check out the "WindLoop" sound, just audible above the noise of the engine.
New sounds included:
The game's default volume for bullet hits on AI planes will be heard at the same volume level as hits to the players plane, which is obviously unrealistic. So to rectify this, extract, then open the "SOUNDLIST.INI" file from the "FlightData.cat". Scroll down to "DirtHit", and change the "MaxDist=" line to: MaxDist=010.000000.
I just want to let it be known that these files have been tucked away on my PC for three years or more, and therefore I can't remember where they originated from. Although I've enhanced and edited these samples to the point where they bear little or no relation to the originals, if anyone recognises one of them as being theirs and then take exception to their use, then please PM me and I'll be happy to delete that file from the package.
Sorry, forgot to mention...Just as a guide:
I use "Lerhone" for all the early 1915-16 rotary engine aircraft: DH2, Pup, Nieuports, Eindekker's, etc. It could also be used for the Fokker Dr.I and 110hp Sopwith Camel.
Use "RotaryEngine" for the Sopwith Triplane, 130 & 150hp Camels and all other late war (mid 1917-1918) rotary powered planes.
I hope you like at least a few of 'em
By Nixou---REALISTIC GUN SOUNDS for FIRST EAGLES.---
Recordings of real maxim guns cleaned and reworked on sound forge 9. Readme for more info.
(This file contains gun sounds for Vickers, Spandau and Lewis)
Fed up with weird gun sounds that does not "look" real?
Fear to change em cause you don't know how it sounds in reality?
Here is the solution.
JUST REPLACE BASIC SOUND FILES WITH THOSE PRESENT IN THE FILE.
Updated new sounds for the lewis, vickers and Spandau. New record method with large gun loops for more accurate results.
Mod presentation on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8eFRHwq7cM
Feel free to comment or request.
By gumpyI got tired of hearing the same old engine sound on the Fokker Dr1 of the new expansion so I made a new one.Drop the Dr1 wave file into your First Eagles sound folder, then go to the objects/aircraft/Fokker Dr1 folder open up the FOKKERDR1_DATA configuration settings INI.scroll down to the [sound] section and edit this line to read EngineSoundName=Dr1 That should do it go fly and have fun.I take no responsibility for any problems caused by these addons. Gumpy
I've now included a louder "bullet hit" sound. Designed to make you jump when your plane gets hit!
EDIT 30/4/08: It's taken a while for me to work this out, but initially I didn't realise that the bullet hit sound was as loud on the AI planes as on the players...Even from long distance. Not very realistic...There's no way you'd hear hits on the target plane above your engine noise. So, to rectify this, extract, then open the "SOUNDLIST.INI" file from the "FlightData.cat", scroll down to "DirtHit", and change the "MaxDist=" line to: MaxDist=030.000000 or even 025.000000.
The player engine sound in FE is not loud enough IMO. The AI flyby sound easily drowns it out, so here's a louder version which to my ears sounds a lot better.
I've also included louder and better machine gun sounds which I think balance nicely with the new engine and ambient sounds.
There are various ways to use them, but the way I do it is to rename the original file, eg to Proploop2 or Vickersorig, or whatever suits you, then drop the new files into your Sounds folder and you're good to go...
I think it's an improvement, I hope you do too!
By ShrikeHawkThis is an update to my previous sound. It begins with an explosion sound
and empahasizes the cracking of wood more. I like this one better.
This is only a replacement for the previous sound. If you need the .ini
files to install it, please download the original.
By ShrikeHawkAddon Breaking Sound by ShrikeHawk
My intent here was to create a very distinctive ww1 sound for
breaking aircraft parts. I wanted to hear a wood-crunching,
canvas-ripping, "uh-oh!" kind of sound to accompany a part
breaking my own (or better yet, the other guy's) aircraft.

If you're like me, you probably found yourself turning the original FE music volume to OFF within minutes of installing the game and encountering each screen.
So, I've scoured for some replacement music to increase those minutes to possibly hours before you ditch the music!
Here are some of the more intense classical music I could find (from varied composers) to appropriately fit the mood of each screen, attempting to give FE more "atmosphere". Some screens will have a determined action feel and others with a sense of glory/duty/achievement - at least that's what's intended!
I've only slightly edited each tune so it runs smoother and I reduced the bit rate to shrink them down to size. However, nothing's perfect.
By the way, the composers I emailed and managed to get in touch with were really great about allowing me to use their music files for what will hopefully be your benefit. They've done a terrific job.
See/hear what you think of it... hopefully, it will put you in a flying mood!
Cheers for browsing & thank God for gaming composers!
By Sully_PAReplaces some sound in the game that seemed to be lacking ....Vickers, Spandau, Lewis, 30cal , 50cal , Cannon , gunjam , TireTouch , Tank Gun .
