  1. There are ten people to find: the guy in the skiff (who the CG was looking for, the seven HC-130 crewmembers, and the two Cobra crew.
  2. I think we (and the reast of the world) will be waiting a long time for the A400.
  3. 93 years ago yesterday

    Very succinctly put.
  4. Google Find

    Gato class sub.
  5. As a fueler (and a pilot), I've come up with a hell of a solution. Simply give them the planned fuel, none of this 'alternate' or 'reserve' nonsense! Once the engines flame out, they've GOTTA land! And for the disclaimer... just kidding.
  6. sorry, I mean't the deployment method was manual
  7. Set the control type to manual, and the input to 'vectored thrust' I did that on the F-14 a few years back.

  16. AIM-120 on Hornet wingtips?

Good point... I thought I had seen pics of said loadout, but couldn't find them... I'm thinking you're right about the wing fold bit.. that's alot of weight, especially @ G.
  17. Maybe this will also help to visualize the issue (just trying to help). Wiki states the thrust of the Pegasus 10 engine as around 19,000#'s. Whereas the Harrier GR 1 weighs: The Pegasus 105 (which versions power the GR7 series) develops 21,500#'s of thrust. And for the AV-8B's, this is straight from the NATOPS
  18. Not to beat you down on this, but landing vertically with two drop tanks (typically EMPTY) can be very different from a vertical take-off with drop tanks (typically FULL). Like FC said, ya gotta crunch the numbers
