Re-installed and controls are squiffy?
Trotski replied to Chugster's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Don't call me Sir, I ain't a Knight, or an Officer, I can both read a map, and make my own tea !! As for posting on boards for so long, as have most of us on here , and yes at times there are idiotic, or inconsequential comments, however most of us just live with them and either laugh ( because usually the offending comment is sarcastic humour ) or move past it, no need to get irritated, as in the main, this site is very helpful and constructive . In summary, sometimes a perfectly viable solution ( As Bazillus's was ) may not be posed in a way that is immediately understandable, usually due to the fact that the author of said comment , is maybe using a second language , and the English is maybe a little hard to decipher, but if you stare at it long enough, you can usually get the gist of the authors meaning. Sorry to have a pop at you like this, as I usually keep my own council, however.................... -
Re-installed and controls are squiffy?
Trotski replied to Chugster's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I'm sorry, but if indeed it didn't help. there is zero reason to be rude about it, Baziillus first language, is not English, so be a little understanding about peoples comments when they maybe do not come across perfectly. I am sure he was only trying to make a courteous comment. I have noticed a few occasions , where you have asked questions, and when members reply, TRYING to assist you, that you either do not reply , and acknowledge, or you make rather sharp comment.....basically, if you aint got anything good to say, say nothing....End of DIT !! -
TW or mod F-4 Phantoms?

All the DLC packs are worth having to be frank, if ya have the pennies go buy 'em all -
Maybe invest in a separate stand ? a lot of the Steering wheel stands, which are relatively inexpensive, are not a great deal different from a comparable joystick/hotas stand you can even mount your rudder pedals if you have those as well. The reason I made this comment here is because eventually I want a warhog myself, to replace my X52 pro, however as I also play American/Euro Truck simulator, and Farming Sim 19, I could really do with a set up that is easy to move out of the way when I am not using either my steering set up, or my Hotas ........just a thought mate, take a quick gander on amazon, there are a plethora of 'em on there and all for a decent price, make sure though that you look for one that has an adjustable side mount , used mainly for gear shifters, however it looks to me that it would work just fine for a throttle stand. Another comment I have seen in regards to the Warthog, is that with the joystick some peeps actually place it on their seat and use the stick in a conventional setting, as the base on your stick is very large, and therefore is comfortable to have in between your legs and wide enough for your thighs to hold it down more securely. Food for thought matey.

Where a lot if not all pre war a\c ideas came from...
Trotski replied to russouk2004's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - World War II Forum
The British of course have style, and panache, unfortunately the ones that display this characteristic , tend to be the privileged chinless wonders who led us in great "victories" such as the Crimean War, the Boer War, many of the nasty little dust ups on the Western Front in WWI , and other little skirmishes.....Thankfully Tommy Atkins, and Jack Tar were there to pull them out of the doo doo , whilst the silk stockings full of shit sip their Pink Gin and play leapfrog. The Vampire I seem to remember was in development DURING WWII so no German input was involved, hence the Vampire and Meteors straight wings, the Allies applied the German research on swept wing tech as did the Russkis after WWII was over. -

Now this I DO like, nice take on the Aircobras the RAF had, I wonder how well it would have done in reality on British Carriers , and would it have been an improvement over the Sea Hurricane, and Seafire. -
Flying from Cyprus
Trotski replied to allenjb42's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Or if you wanted to go more towards Suez timeframe RAF Nicosia............As far as I know no RAF fighters ever flew the Syria or Lebanon corridors, and I was based at Akronelli in the 80's The U2's used to fly oveer there from Akrotiri but none of the Detachments did, and we would have known about it if they were as we would have gone on super high alert status. -

As I said, ONE of those particularly awful British aircraft, Blackburn Roc was no better , I wont use the Defiant , as at least the Defiant was actually reliable, and useful. -

One of those particularly awful British aircraft, the damn thing was a liability, it was awful , and in some cases fatal to use from a carrier, it was as manoeuvrable as a 3 wheeled bus, and it was just basically crap in all respects......Oh and pig ugly as well. -

looking to upgrade(slightly)
Trotski replied to whiteknight06604's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I would agree, I have a super duper ninja pc, with all the bells and whistles, and it makes no noticeable difference to the way SF 2 and FE 2 runs , yes a little bit of ram expansion and a better vid card are certainly helpful, however the differences in performance and efficiency will all be "under the hood" and you will notice nothing at all, so upgrade by all means, as that is no bad thing at all , I cannot comment on re furbed pc's as I have no experience of them, but if that is all you can , or are willing to purchase, then go for it mate . -
They had no choice but to put the WRONG WING ON!

The Hurricane also had and offset tail fin, so quite common to have non symmetrical airframe layouts in actual fact , probably more common than one would imagine. -

HELP SF2 Flight Sim how to add a new aircraft
Trotski replied to BasBoss's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
C'mon Mr Wrench sir, we are blokes, and we all know real blokes do NOT ever read instructions , for to do so would be un blokey, and far too logical , and we cant be having logic and common sense invading our fav flight sim.....this is why no Females ( or blokettes ) post in here, as they are horribly Locical and ALWAYS read instructions and the like........a ghastly state of affairs if you ask me sir !! Trotski replied to A48Racing's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Baby steps , dont expect it to all fall into place overnight , even some of us so called experienced skinners/ modders run into road blocks and issues at times , the sim lay out and structure is pretty logical though , and 99.9 times out of 100 the mistake made will be of your own making, but stick with it and you will soon be wasting countless hours and days , bashing away at it , only to realise you spend more time modding/skinning , than actually flying the sim ......be warned !! lol lol lol- 37 replies

you cant extract lods PERIOD !! ....they are locked to most common mortals , and new lods can only be made by those in the community who commune with evil spirits , and who have access to such arcane and stupidly expensive programs such as 3DS MAX , so unless you are a millionaire , forget about lods !!- 37 replies
