  1. View File Westland Wessex HU5/HC2 (DAT) Westland Wessex HU 5 / HC 2 This is an update to my previous upload of Westland Wessex HU 5 skins, I have tweaked the files that I previously uploaded, and have included skins for RAF , Royal Navy, and Oman, the original skins are ok should you wish to still use them, however, I would recommend you delete them and use these ones instead, the changes are minor, however there ARE some corrections. As stated in my previous upload, these skins require you to aquire the A-Team original, as you need the lods from there, if you need assistance on installing these skins please contact me via PM. Included skins are as follows 845 NAS based on HMS Bulwark in 1966, 847 NAS involved in the Falklands campaign, and 771 NAS Culdrose Air Sea Rescue. The RAF Skins consist of 78 SQN in early grey/green markings, also a grey/green later marked version from 18 SQN, a 72 SQN skin in winter grey/white, and a late version green/green from 60 SQN, the final RAF skin is for 22 SQN Air Sea Rescue. Finally I have included an Omani Army scheme. I have included all hangar and loading screens, for all 3 versions, also the pilots and the sound file that I use . The RAF and Omani aircraft are not operable from carriers, and all armament capability has been removed from them, as they never were armed to the best of my knowledge, the navy ones of course are, and are carrier operational. I believe everything is included, but of course errors and omissions do occur, so any issues or questions please feel free to message me and ask. One final comment, the serials and codes, are not 100% accurate for the aircraft portrayed, but they are in the right sort of range, so really not a huge issue, as they look right, even if maybe they are out of sequence or wrong for THAT particular airframe. I hope you enjoy these aircraft, as I said in my previous upload, the model is far from perfect, its acceptable, but nowhere near spot on, but, until one of our model making gurus makes a new one, we are stuck with this old lady. Finally, as always, ENJOY !!! Submitter trotski00 Submitted 03/19/2020 Category Other
  2. more Questions

Try it in an FE2 , " it will be fun" they said, "be like shooting fish in a barrel " they said, says the PBO ( poor bloody observer ) or GIF ( Guy in Front ) as he is hanging onto the gun mount for dear life. This is possibly the reason FE2 pilots had permanent black eyes.
  3. Those Bombs Things

Either the 20Lb Hales or the later 25Lb Cooper, were not terribly powerful, most of the weight was actually the casing and fins. So compared to later WWII bombs of a similar weight, the blast radius will be noticeably far less, also dependant on the type of ground they were dropped on ie soft muddy as was standard WWI fare, the blast would have been negligible, if the damn things went off at all that is, I assume the German PUW types were no a lot different. So low level bombing was not as dangerous as it would be in later periods. However I can find little data on the blast effect of Hales/Coopers, they did the job is all I can seem to find, and they were a bit more potent than the grenades they used previously.

  5. OK so my next query , as I need enlightening and the obvious explaining to me, if I use the VK 1 engine sound on a mig 15, it sounds perfect, however, if I then apply the exact same sound to a AVIA S-92, the sound becomes completely different, now I am sure that this has something to do with the S-92 having 2 engines, but, when I advance the throttles to full chat, the sound goes into this horrible loop which sounds like a galloping horse, but at a higher pitch of course, so, is this down to the set up on the S-92 v the Mig 15 or am I missing something fundamentally simple and being a complete twonk ? Another one of those issues that is irritating my OCD !! any advice would be most agreeable.
  6. Happy As

If you keep flying a BE2, then the day you die will be upon you rather abruptly.
  7. Happy As

Ahhhh our glorious technical marvel that is the BE2. Better at everything except being a combat aircraft. The Eindecker pilots must have been laughing all the way back to the mess. But, it was a cunning plan on our behalf, we were lulling them into a false sense of security, then repeating the process, as they wont expect us to do anything a stupid as repeating the same error twice..........We'll learn 'em !!!
  8. Books?

German aircraft of the first world war, Peter gray & Owen Thetford, invaluable source book for all the German types of the war. any of the Crowood Press books. Aeroplanes of the Royal Aircraft Factory for example. Finally, Biggles, if you havent read the Biggles books, that is a sad loss. For younger folk maybe, a bit jingoistic, definately, but good light reads anyhow.
  9. Pilot Log Editor

Ahhh ok, that then makes it clear, however my statement that it works just fine, still stands
  10. lap belts were in use from pre war, , the germans I believe were the first to have a full 4 point harness, the certainly had them on Albatros DVI, even some eindeckers had them fitted too, However the French may have been the first to have a full 4 point system. But I am not 100% sure on that, as it is a question that has never crossed my mind to be honest, an interesting one though .
  11. Pilot Log Editor

It works just fine, ignore the fact that it says its beta, I am unsure as to why it is , I think when he posted it up, he wanted to make sure it worked ok, which of course it does.
  12. Pilot Log Editor

Yes an updated version was bookmarked on here last month. Here you go see enclosed file mate. WOFF BH&H2 Pilot Log Editor.7z
  13. I love this sim because ....

No multi player, therefore not toxicity ( Rust and EvE for example) great dev support, when there is an issue they are on it like a rash. the campaign is great, although, early war recces were done by single, or a flight of 2 aircraft, not a whole flight, so really that needs to be corrected, but that is a very minor gripe. the graphics, considering this is based on a pretty old engine, are superb, the fact that modding is allowed, or even encouraged, is brilliant. So over all one of the best, flight sims around, up there with the likes of DCS, and other high end Flight Simulators.
  14. Training V2.0

Aye, re watching Wings at the moment, it really is very good, even if the BE's are not 2C's and I am unaware of any Avro 504 's in front line service in 1915, however I could of course be wrong on that.
  15. Training V2.0

Was a superb series, this and Flambards. it was pretty accurate too showing the RFC Struggling in BE 2's poor buggers didnt stand a chance really. Not the the Quirk was actually a bad aeroplane, just totally unsuited for a combat role .
  16. That about sums it up methinks, its all about the direct x , not the actual OS, which as I said before is not an issue anyhow, as to whether the sim will operate after the next update to the standing OS, I doubt that somehow, as the OS is pretty much setup so any updates will not change the way programmes operate using Win 10. Of course there is a slim chance of that being the case, the fact remains TK is twatting about like a fanny in a trance, dangling the proverbial carrot, I have zero patience with the guy, no matter how nice a chap he may be, his business acumen leaves a little to be desired. in myopinion of course, I dont expect anyone to agree slavishly with my views, I'm afraid I am too old and too damn ugly to buy into any of his pissing about, as for the suggestion he was just trying to make a few bucks by re selling the same product in a new wrapper, I hate to say it, but I believe that to be the case. Very shady if ya ask me.
  17. PS I make no apologies for speaking straight, I feel too much pussyfooting and apologist behaviour goes on, call a spade a damn spade, and then get over it.....End of Dit .
  18. The whole discussion about a win 10 version is rather academic, as the sim functions totally fine on Win 10 already. So look at it this way, you wont be splashing out your hard earned dosh on a not really necessary update. As for the TK apologists, and how the poor dear is struggling, couldn't really give two hoots, if, as has been suggested, he worked with the community, and he has been totally absent in that regard, and engage with the folk on Discord, where a grand trumpeting, and hoo ha about was made, but does he ?...errr no.....so TK is like a spoiled brat, who knows his toy is broken, but wont ask for help, or, abandon it totally. Thus, he keeps everone hanging on tenterhooks, awaiting the great day when all will be well, and everything will be rainbows and fluffy kittens......Well news flash dudes, it aint gonna happen, TK is a pillock, end of story.
  19. Yes My name is Marc, and I am a user....errrrr........yes I use the consolidated, used them on WOFF PE, and now on BH&H
  20. CTD after Exit Mission command

Sonds like Windows 10, doing the windows 10 thing....I assume you are using win 10
  21. Cracking bit of film, superb calrity as well, considering its age, I must admit I had never seen the mud scrapers before, must have been a Jasta upgrade, as the Caudron has them too. I had to giggle when later in the film they were showing Sturmtruppen doing their thing, and the were climbing a muddy bank , and one of the Huns took a tumble arse over tit.....made me guffaw some did that.
  22. WOW !! Talk about making hard work for your self !!! However very cool bit of organisation I have to say. Well done, even if you are a little OCD, and nutty
  23. Ok, there is a definite problem here somewhere, I have started 2 new careers, one German, and one French, and as always I do training first before reporting to my Squadron/Staffel. On both these 2 new pilots, at completion of their training, they trot off merrily rejoicing to join their doughty comrades in arms to fight the good fight, and on both of them now, I have reached the squadron....and like magic, I cannot fly at all due to the fact there are no observers. In disgust I deleted the German pilot last night, after fruitlessly advancing the date, and even going on leave, all to no avail. I have just finished training my Frenchie, and guess what ?....yup....no bloody observers....again......This is rather annoying , as doing the 16 plus hours of training first, then going to a squadron that has been suggested by the sim, I find myself unable to fly.......Bit of an issue really, and it needs looking into please, as I am getting a bit ............Anxious !!!
  24. I know, bloody know it all me !!! harharhar
