The Barmy OFFers Club: Have you what it takes to be one of the daft, the touched, the Barmy?

I propose that all senior members (as determined by age rather than length of membership) have an extra round of drinks to help them forget why they've forgotten. -

Well, I'm having a senior moment and can't remember how I loaded my old badge let alone a new one. -

You need 2 programmes (both available for free).I must state that I consider it OK to make an image of a CD that you own for your use only - I am not condoning making copies for others. ClonyXXL will scan the CFS3 CD and tell you what type of copy protection it has. Download Alcohol 52% and create a virtual drive. Make an ISO image of your disk and mount it in the virtual drive. No more CD. Sorry, just seen that you'll manage short term with what you've got. Makes sense really.

Sounds right to me too, Lou. I grabbed a DVD version too and uninstalled everything (CFS and OFF) then re-installed using the DVD - no problem. You can use a virtual drive, Rich, if you don't want to keep inserting your disc.

All the best, Tony. -
CPU: AMD Phenom II x 2 Black Edition 3.1Gz 4g RAM Buffalo Firestix ATI HD 4830 512mb Lokks that at the very least I'll need to upgrade the gpu. With my motherboard Asus M3A79-T deluxe I should be able to overclock the cpu to enough and I have a Arctic Cooler fitted so , again, should be OK there.

I know I've said it before but each time I see a new screenshot of WOFF I have great trouble accepting the fact that it is the CFS3 engine behind it. Simply stunning. -

Wow, my first visit here for a while and I read this. I know what you're going through, Tony, and yes it's scary but wonders can be achieved. My thoughts are with you and your family. All the best m8. -

Wow, just back from holiday to find that WOFF is 2 weeks away and I have a new medal. Great stuff. -
I'm still around. Spending more time in Italy this year and cycling around 150 miles a week both there and in UK. When I get time to sit at a computer it's flying with OFF and some playing of Legend of Grimrock too. Good to see some old faces here.

I might be a bit late here as I've just watched a programme my wife recorded whilst I was working the other night. It was a BBC production documentary called "The Somme - Secret Tunnel Wars". Did anyone else see it? It's stil on BBC iplayer for a few more days.

Ah, it is indeed a different one. This one examines the extensive "Glory Hole" much of which still exists. Some reinforcing was needed in order to investigate a deeper level and an area where miners were known to have been trapped was left untouched. It was fascinating seeing the burn marks from candles and poems scratched into the walls. Well worth watching. -

That's odd. As far as I know this is a new one - not seen before. I know channel 5 did something on the subject last year. -
We had a minor result in Europe recently where dangerous pesticides were banned. Germany cast the crucial "yes" vote but only after being lobbied by German beekeepers. Cameron wanted to wait until it was proven without doubt that the pesticides are dangerous to bees but by the time we know for an absolute certainty it would be too late.

Microbes are not thinking creatures capable of emotion and putting armadillos in the same category as a deadly disease/virus which threatens human existence simply makes no sense. I will not argue with you further, my life is already going to be shorter than I'd wish and my energy is best placed elsewhere.
-
Ok, so they are a pest and as such need dealing with but to say they deserve no sympathy? It's not their fault they're armadillos and that they don't belong there.

6 months of it was travelling around Europe, Asia, and India in an old London double-decker bus. I agree, New Zealand would be nice.

Yes, good luck with that one, Steve. I've been trying for early retirement for the last 35 years but then I did have a "pretirement" several years ago when I went walkabout for a year.
