I have difficulty understanding how a person could have survived that war, let alone a horse. -

Sorry I got the channel wrong . Hope that didn't spoil it. -

But people will only not buy fuel if they have no money. All the while people have some they will make themselves afford fuel. Only the very poor are affected by these heavy taxes. Just my opinion.
-
Just an after thought here. As you are now the proprietor on a soon-to-be-prosperous petfood store, does this mean that Newcastle airport is no longer secure?
-
Another outragious aspect of fuel prices in the UK (not sure about the rest of the EU) is that, once the fuel tax has been added to the price then the whole lot gets VAT. So....we are paying tax on the tax we pay. Go figure.
-
I'm not sure what the current figures are but when Gordon Brown was in power the total tax you paid for your fuel was running at a staggering 81.5%. British politicians

Saw that on the news last night - luckily no-one was hurt. Not sure what "ground resonance" is - not a new Brazilian coffee is it? Should have read your complete post. Ground resonance explained -
Congratulations and good luck with m8.

SRC, not telling what we've done with the matter - all will reveal itself when that damn butterfly flaps its wings. A close contest, Lou. You have lost 6.6 pounds more than me but.........if we look at it as a percentage of body weight then my 10.82% beats your 10.74%:good:by a clear smidgen. -

Hey, Lou. How's it going? I'm still losing weight but it's slowed down to about 2 pounds per week. Feel great though - legs like tree trunks from the cycling. I've extended the route a little and now it's just over 7 miles - takes around 15 minutes. Here's my chart ready to be blown out the water by Lou -
The comentator makes me smile - here's the pilot coming in, engines off and the comentator says "Slow it down, slow it down". What, he thinks it has brakes with no wheels down?

McBurgers, the same the world over. You know I went to Jerusalem and they had a McDavids - no kidding - and I think they must import the same premium sawdust. -
My daughter is going off to New Orleans in May and her passport is only valid 'till September so off we go to the post office with her application for a new passport. One of our friends is a doctor and, therefore, qualified to vouch for Freya being who she says she is. Our friend has dutifully completed the necessary part of the application and signed one of the photographs on the back - "I certify this to be a true likeness etc." and dated. We chose to take the application to the post office rather than posting it so as to use the "Check and Send" service. The lady checked the application and noted that one letter of our friend's address was crossed out and the right one inserted. This is not allowed. So......off to our friend with a new application form for her to complete her section and then our daughter completed the rest. Off to the post office again. The lady checked over the application and said that "The date on the back of the photograph is last week. It has to be today's date". Back to the surgery where the receptionist kindly took the envelope into surgery with our friend and she duly signed and dated a spare photo that was in the envelope. Back to the post office - by now they were thinking of getting us our own desk. The form was, once again, checked over and the lady said "Both photos have got something written on the back, the one that gets put in the passport should be blank on the reverse". Now, if the photograph in question is the one for the passport what the hell difference does it make if it has an endorsement on the reverse side. It wasn't as if the impression could be detected from the front. I mean, she has been certified twice in two weeks as being who she claims to be. What more do they want? :fu2: I will now tell my daughter to apply as an illegal immigrant and she will get a passport no problem.

Thank you, Olham - just what I needed to see Flyby, you're right on both points. It's the whole thing about having to jump through hoops all the time - it becomes wearing if you let it.

Very well done, Lou. I've lost a total of 14 pounds. I had a glitch last week where I didn't lose any but it's back on track again now. I may be overdoing the exercising a little as I'm bulking up more than I wanted. I'll have to cut down on the Katas - the cycling can stay as it is because I'm enjoying it too much Here's my "poor mans" chart. -
When the builders have gone home for the day find somewhere quiet to sit for 5 mins and tell yourself that nothing is permanent - your situation will change. It doesn't help you in the short term but my years of meditation help me no end now. It takes a lot to get me frazzled. A lot of people poo poo it but they're are the ones that haven't tried it. I feel for you at the moment, UK, and hope your wife is feeling better soon. I feel that once she is, you will feel a bit better too.

Urgent\help needed from the PC tecchies
tranquillo posted a topic in WOFF UE/PE - General Discussion
Hi Guys,. Woe is me.....I have no PC. I went to turn it on today and it didn't start up. The power lights come on at the front and on the MB - the fans work as well. But it doesn't seem to go through the boot process. The monitor reads " No Signal" and remains blank. I cannot power it off using the on/off, only by turning power off at the mains. Any ideas??? The light that usually indicates HD activity didn't indicate s# #t. -

I'm grateful for the support I've had with this problem but, if I were to be honest, it's been no less than I have come to expect from this forum. If I get it all up and running tomorrow then there's drinks waiting for all in the mess. The very first thing I'm going to do is a full backup of both drives. -

Update.....................I've just seen my desktop Not fully celebrating just yet though. My new psu arrived today but I had clients 'till early this afternoon so didn't get a chance to do anything with it 'till then. I fitted the new psu, just running cables to the mobo............I got beeps and I could switch off using the front switch. I connected 1 hard drive and tried again..........got a series of beeps indicating no vga. Fitted the graphics card and just got the beep to indicate no keyboard. I checked the fan on the graphics card and it was spinning around quite merrily, as was I at this point. I connected the keyboard, mouse, and monitor and there it was, a desktop. Rather than connect up my 2 optical drives and my other hard drive and aux fans, I decided to take the opportunity to upgrade the HD4830. It seems that all is well and I'm digging out the invoice for the original psu as It might just be inside of its 3 year warranty which would be nice. I also plugged the psu tester into the new one and all readings were virtually identical except the power good signal which was reading 320ms. So it seems that the pg signal does make a difference. Must admit, I didn't check the graphics output on the old one to see if that was faulty. I'll do that tomorrow. Just left to decide on the card I want now. -

Welcome, ataribaby. Have you been told yet that the new guy buys the drinks When I started I tried several planes and settled on the SE5a as a nice stable craft. It's still my favourite. When you fly a particular aircraft regularly you'll find that you get used to its quirks. Good luck.
