  1. No..No..NOOOOOOOO

Thanks, I just saw your next thread and that's pretty amusing as well.
  2. No..No..NOOOOOOOO

Today hasn't been the very best of days, and I don't usually have a cruel sense of humour - but your post gave me the first real laugh of the day, thanks!
  3. I Leave For Five Minutes And...

CaptSopwith, I'm sure the other guys will be around shortly, but let me be the first to welcome you back to the comparative calm of CA. As I know you have already seen, the other place is wild! I also am having to wait a little to update my PC before I can try WOFF. Have you seen the latest issue of the Illustrated BOC News - it's well worth a look. We'd be interested to know where you are going travelling - that has to be some consolation for not having WOFF yet.
  4. WOFF is now available!

I was just reading about your misfortune at the other place, that is damn bad luck. . I only discovered that my computer has decided it won't run CFS3/OFF a few weeks ago but at least I was forewarned before WOFF came out. My comiserations to you.
  5. A brilliant issue ...and give that poet a prize as well.
  6. WOFF is now available!

I'm sure you'll see it, but there is a patch to download as well.
  7. WOFF is now available!

Well I'm going to order the DVD as it will be a little while before I can get the computer up to specs so I'll be pleased to see everyone's screenshots in the meantime.
  8. *Sigh*

Thanks Tamper. We currently have a 512mb GeForce 9600GT, so I think some kind of upgrade will be required but your information about the comparative merits of different cards is most useful.
  9. *Sigh*

Over at the other place there are several confirmations that it has been run successfully on 'non-supported' systems. I think they are just covering themselves a little with the official line. I am going to have to get some more RAM and a new graphics card just to get into the 'medium' level. Plus at the moment my computer doesn't like CFS3/OFF anyway so I have got to address this first.
  10. I thought it looked as though someone had spilled fermentation on it! Still, happy it was of use in a crisis. BWOC, BWOC BWOC, eh!
  11. New WOFF Forum

Well I'm sure I'm a collegiate fermentation - well said Hauksbee!
  12. The requirements thread

I think I may be able to increase my RAM to 8GB and get something like a GeForce 650. At least that might put me at 'Medium' level, rather than 'Low End/Medium'. Unfortunately, with a blatant lack of consideration for WOFF, not only had my wife arranged for a new kitchen to be fitted right now (hence day off hovering over OFF/WOFF sites) which is going to have to start to be paid for, but last week saw us unexpectedly having to have the boiler and parts of the central heating system replaced. I hate houses. If I am going to be able to buy WOFF itself shortly, and Matt's music album, I fear a bit of canny budgeting is called for. In the meantime I just have to get the computer to like playing CFS3/OFF again - I currently suspect one of the Microsoft Security Updates
  13. The requirements thread

Well I'm Medium to Low End (people who have known me for many years will not be surprised at this statement). AMD Athlone Dual Core 3.1GHZ 6000+ processor - not sure if this would match an Intel processor of the same specs. RAM 4GB - Not sure what type NVIDIA GeForce 9600GT video card At least our VISTA is 64 bit. I'll have to do a bit of digging to see what improvements we could support and would be worth making. (I know ... get a new PC)
  14. WOFF Website is up!

    But that's unthinkable!
  15. WOFF Website is up!

The new AI does look as though it will make things really interesting. Curiously, another point that made an impression on me was the new way of handling ground collisions. As an almost exclusive BE2/RE8 pilot I have made so many forced landings. May be a while before I can run it in its full glory, though, but I had expected that.
  16. I really thought this was a joke when I saw the title, because I always come here first. I didn't expect it quite yet. Need to get my patch dll error sorted out ... or a new computer.
  17. Then tell them they have to have you recovered in two weeks - just in time. Hope everything goes well.
  18. Upon starting OFF for the first time in a while I got an OFFManager warning that told me an error had occurred initiating CFS3. The message below read as follows: Patch DLL Error: Game terminated prematurely PatchMemorySync::Done: TerminateProcess() failed (5) I have searched various sites and forums but couldn't find a definitive solution for this exact problem. I have tried my CFS3 discs in both available drives, and reconfiguring, but I still get the same message. It happens whether I try to load Quick Combat/Scenario or Campaign. So I am now considering a full uninstall/reinstall. Before I do, however, would anyone have any other possible solutions?
  19. I certainly will, that's one habit I got into when I had some problems a while back.
  20. Thanks Olham. I tried both the resets for good measure, but it still fails once I get past the 'go to field' point. I think it's going to have to be the reistall and see what happens after that.
  21. RJW, nothing is a silly question where I am concerned! The fact is that there have probably been a number of software changes because it really has been quite a while since I ran OFF. (I couldn't help it ... the descriptions of WOFF kind of spoilt OFF for me ... and I kept thinking it was only going to be two weeks.) That's partly why I thought I would end up doing a fresh install anyway. And ... you have reminded me that I need to buy a poppy from the tray at work. Thanks, Wayfarer.
  22. Always photos

Socrate, there are some remarkable photographs here. I don't remember seeing them elsewhwere. I particularly like the picture of the Nieuport above the clouds at the top of the third page down. Also, the captions of the photographs of the AVROs mention Zeppelins and Freidrichshafen ( I regret my French isn't good enough to translate much). Does anyone know if these would be the aircraft that carried out the November 1914 raid by the RNAS.
