Historically the Lewis was fired when tilted down by some pilots, I can't remember the accounts of at least one ace who specialised in that method. It would be pretty good if that was implemented by our game wizards at some point

So true... I once ditched my kite in a very large tree... not only got a roasting from the commanding officer, but the Quartermaster ordered me to go back and climb the bloody tree and retrieve the watch! I mean to say old chap... To rub salt in the wounds, (I fell out of that tree three times)... The Froggies heard about it and sent me a card claiming they were better at landing in trees than the English... their best pilot (Andre ''tee bo'' Thibault) managed to land in three trees all at once! Les bastages!

Got mine down to 5... works a treat!

On patrol with Esc 48... our new Nieuports are performing well against the Fokkers. Flying today in such lovely weather one could almost forget there was a war on. The patrol is led by Adjutant de Turenne, an experienced flyer. We approach the lines... we have to be very alert as the enemy are sending up frequent patrols. My little 'office' in the sky... I feel at home in here now.

Yes, they earned their tea and medals for this one!
