Good fight there Rick... you held those Fokkers off no problem. They can soak up a lot of damage though! -

Those Roland's are always a pain!... their gunners are good too, you have to be careful. Word is the chaps are calling them 'Rats'. -
You can't have enough Spitfires in any flight sim can you!

Lovely pics mate! -
Today the 'Big Wipe' arrives... everyone's progress is set back to zero and it all starts from scratch again, not that I had much to loose as it happens

Dropped into the 'customs' area around Tarkov. Right from the start you are on edge... no idea where the enemy may be. Scav Raiders are loose in the area and are already picking people off. You have to find an exit point, you have no compass, no waypoints to follow, scavenge or loot anything you can as you try to find a way out. Tension is high along with a deadly threat that can kill you at any moment... Can I make it out? This is Escape from Tarkov... at times brilliant, challenging, yet frustrating and will have you on edge from the minute you start your raid. I'm new to the game, still not sure what I'm doing, using a downloaded map from the internet to try and navigate myself to an extraction point which is always at the other end of the map from where you started. No compass, no waypoints, when you look at your map you are vulnerable. When you are searching a body or equipment you can be picked off at any minute... If you are giving yourself first aid it takes time, and again you are extremely vulnerable. This is no run and gun shooter... be prepared to be killed, a lot! The odds are always against you, and yet, I keep coming back for more punishment... Have to say though, applying first aid during a fight is usually where I get killed, as there is no quick fix when you are wounded. Searching a body takes time, going through pockets and equipment, examining items to see if they are worth taking... all the time you are in constant danger of being surprised and killed.

Saw the 'blipping' effect, it's little details like that, that keep cropping up that makes me realise what a little gem we have with this hobby of ours. -
I'm sure I read once that the major problem in open cockpit flying was the noise of the wind above all else. It was the cause of veteran flyers loosing or having hearing problems. The Germans even developed wind baffles on their flying helmets to counter it.

We've had the Battle of Britain, but strangely not the Battle of France...
-
I think you are right Rick... you would get a drum like tapping sound if I remember right.
-
Wood and lots of doped linen?... you could get several holes belting through your airframe that doesn't hit anything vital and not know anything about it until you landed. 'Stinky' Bottom the rigger might let you know about it if he's not hanging about the latrines again of course...

I'm British... I put salt on everything.

Real life always comes first mate... and good news on the mods, we'll be looking forward to see how it all goes

You posted... so you expect a response. I cared enough to reply that its not something I'd be interested in.

Trying out free modules?... it has to be the F-16 and the Syria map of course. I'd be silly not to... -
In WoFF, the fences would always kill you if you hit one... now it's not always the case after a patch changed that behaviour. Sometimes you can get away with it, and sometimes you can't...
