I'm using a 128 mb 9800 and the 310's and SFP1 fully patched runs like a screaming banshee. That is with every graphics option cranked up to max. What resolution are you running at? Have you tried 1280 x 960 x 32 or higher?

I'm sure that you are not the only one with that problem and that there will be lots of help available for you. I also understand that you are probably very frustrated and disappointed. We all experience those feelings, it's just a question of how we deal with them. Always take the high road. Decadent Capitalists! :D What I find troubling is the way space in the stores alloted to PC games keeps shrinking and space alloted to "Game Cube" and "Xbox" keeps increasing. There's nothing I dislike more than feeling like "Big Brother" is trying to force me in a certain direction. That's when I show how truely stubborn I can be. "Mr. G., go suck an egg!" :P

OK, time to start keeping track of the order of the patches. You know how that goes! "1.95a has been replaced with 1.95c. 1.95b is obsolete and is no longer supported. 1.95c may only be installed over 1.94k. All other versions of 1.94 are obsolete and no longer supported." :D Of course those with infinite patience can simply wait for the eventual "Mother of All Patches". I get a kick out of this thing we saw with Flanker, IL2 and now LOMAC. As soon as the first patch hits, the training missions don't work anymore. Either have to train up good before the patch or have two installs of the sim. No big thing, just kind of humorous. Where there's a will, there's a way. "Failure is not an option." :D

As always, Congress is unwilling to provide adequate money for the military. They want one plane to do everything. That is not possible. Our pilots deserve aircraft which are dedicated to a particular task and which are the best in the world at performing that task. Furthermore, even if they are already the best, we need to keep up with technology. Why? Because no one knows what surprises the future may bring. Anyway, personally I think it's a bit ridiculous to create a sim that does not simulate the full spectrum of carrier operations. Just look at what a prominent role carrier based aircraft have played in all of our most recent military operations. "I have the need! The need for speed!" No, subsonic ain't gonna cut it. Gimme the 14! :D

That would be a great way to motivate Ubi to create more combat flight sims! With the considerable amount of nastiness which has already been flung their way I wouldn't blame them if they got out of the flight sim business. Then we could all sit around the Xbox playing snowboard games. Whoopee!

How kewl! Thanks! I love hearing about how it REALLY was. :D I've met very few pilots who have actually flown these aircraft. I'm old enough to remember quite well when these babies were the latest and greatest. At the time they were to me as exotic as space ships. I still love their looks. I have to say, I think it took some real cajones to climb into the cockpit of many of those aircraft. They had their idiosyncracies and there were lots of ways to get into trouble fast. What great memories to have. That's what I call a REAL treasure. Hats off to you!
