  1. I figured that this trick I found would be useful to someone. My apologies if this has already been covered. If you look at a stock aircraft's DECAL.INI you will find that they have decal with names that do not have numbers on the ends. But if you look in the CAT files the decals all have numbers after them. Well, after opening the decal NATIONNAME002.TGA, I figured out that the number at the end of the decal's name corresponds to a nation by means of the number of the nation: [Nation002] <--- This is the nation's number. ---> NATIONAME002.TGA Name=USAF DisplayName=United States Air Force That would mean that the NATIONNAME002 decal would contain the text USAF, which is correct. You can try this with any stock, NATIONNAMEXXX decal. The decal will always contain the name of the nation. Now a stock nation's markings will be contained in the four decals INSIGNIAFUSELXXX.TGA, INSIGNIAFUSERXXX.TGA, INSIGNIAWINGLXXX.TGA, and INSIGNIAWINGRXXX.TGA. The three x's would be replaced by the nation's number. Just create the correctly named decals, and the game engine will add them to stock aircraft when you fly as that nation.
  2. The ability to record missions is something from IL2 Sturmovik that I wish SF2 had. Without the source code there is no way to mod it to have multiplayer.
  3. In normal settings, the pipper will also be more accurate (seems more accurate) if you get radar lock on your target.
  4. I finally upgraded to Gen 2 and got SF2. I successfully made the Dhimar air units in the Burning Sands campaign flyable. To do this, I created the nation of Dhimar in the NATIONS.ini which did not have it. There's just one problem, none of the units have markings anymore! Is there a solution for this?

  6. Congrats! I've finished two, Rolling Thunder & Linebacker II, with WOV Enhanced. I'm working on finishing Linebacker I. The first campaign I ever finished was Linebacker II because it was so short.
  7. Is there any way to activate the F-15A armament panel in the lower left of the cockpit? I looked through the the lod with a hex editor and found a node called "arm_buttons", so I'm guessing that there is a way to activate this panel.
  8. So things like cockpit lights are hard coded into the model like aircraft animations (ie. flaps, landing gear, etc.)?

  11. Is there any way to simulate the ROE (Rules Of Engagement) of Vietnam in regard to targets selected for attack by strike packages. Also, is it possible to simulate the Route Packages?
  12. Is it possible to make a campaign with no ground forces without any ground forces? Without the message: "Enemy forces have achieved their strategic objectives."
  13. Air only Campaign

    My problem is no longer with the ground offensives, your earlier advice solved those problems! Now the player's side is winning after 1 mission. Once you complete your first mission, in the remarks section of the debriefing screen, it says "Order has been received to halt air operations" and the campaign ends. This is the problem I need fixed now.

    I removed the ground units and added "GroundOffensiveAllowed=FALSE" under "[Force001]".

  18. Thanks for your advice! I'm using it to build a comprehensive strategic node network for your ASW ver. 2 terrain. I am going to upload it to Combat Ace when I am finished with it, for everyone to use.

    I'm playing around with a campaign for the ASW terrain. It will be nearly impossible to release it on Combat Ace though, because of the ini edits I've made. As for your ideas, which I appreciate very much , my favorite is the pacific 1950-60's campaign. The Balkans campaign requires a map, and would be mostly strike missions.

    Yes, is there a terrain? I just need a terrain and info on units, aircraft, and bases. There is already a project to make a Balkans campaign, terrain, and aircraft. Has it stalled, and if it has, what of the work they completed can I use?
  23. Yes it is possible. By adding planes to a campaign, do you mean adding a air unit or changing a unit's aircraft? Of the two, the second is easier. (Edit) I just realized that this is the SF2 forum. I can't tell you how to add planes to a campaign for SF2 for certain, as I only make campaigns for the SF1 games.
  24. Loading ODS

    ODS shouldn't work in SP2:E. I have it working fine in WOE. Except for mission loading times (which I shouldn't be surprised at), every thing works fine.
