Full Angola terrain getting closer! -
Im making a campaign or hopefully a series of campaigns to go with the new angola terrain when the full version is ready for release! But Im running into trouble... I believe i set up the nodes correctly but the ground units wont attack.. Im trying to get the blue side to start off attacking right away on the first mission of the campaign is that possible?

Weapons editor Not working properly
Spudknocker replied to DEVIL11's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
What I have found is useful is to make a new folder and point to that folder using the weapons editor. In that folder have only a couple of weapons 10 at most. I believe that when you hit save it tries to save every single data file in the weapons folder which in effect leads to crashes... SOOOO... if you only have a couple of weapons in the folder your editing in it works really well. Then of course move your newly editied weapons to the weapons folder you want them in. In other words step 1- Make new folder on desktop Step 2- Place the couple of weapons you want to edit in said folder (V3S Snake for example) Step 3- Open weapon editor and direct it to your new folder... Click on V3S Step4- Edit your weapon then save it... Because your new folder has only a few weapons in it it should not crash Step5- Move newly edited V3S folder back to your weapons folder in your mods folder -
Must-have mods?

F-14's 16's 15's and 18's are all awesome in SF! But remember to fill in the Bad guys too! Get the MiG-23, Mig-29 and mig-21 packs to make your dogfights a bit more interesting than just basic Mig-17 or 21's For terrains I would say most of them are pretty awesome! def get the Iran-Iraq terrains for both eras and the Rends Germany terrain for starters, also Desert 3/4 they are fictional but truly they are the best terrains available! -

Game shrinking to taskbar
Spudknocker replied to Veltro2k's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I have a semi-answer to this question.... if your running SF2 on windows 10 the game will shrink to the task bar and therefore crash when the computer tries to display to you a notification... Turn off notifications while your flying and that should fix it! -

if you want a little more realism with your CCIP I believe theres a mod somewhere that limits the CCIP to only being displayed on the HUD of the aircraft instead of down by the pilots knees haha -

I have found that there is a work around for this and a way to make #4 attack targets without any frustration... The game assigns pilots to you flight in a specific way... You are leader, less experienced lower ranking pilot as your #2 and a higher ranking more experienced pilot in the #3 spot because he is his section leader and then #4 is usually the lowest ranking and lowest experienced pilot in the flight of 4... To make #4 attack all you need to do is go into the roster screen in the hanger menus and assign a higher ranking/ more experienced pilot to the #4 slot and #4 will have the courage to attack targets and actually follow your orders instead of just simply following you around... I have found that this trick works in all install eras and all nations... Hopefully that can help... Another work around for this is to simply tell 3 and 4 to attack ground targets or air targets and once they break away to go hunting then go in and order #3 to attack a specific target while #4 roves around and attacks targets autonomously... the only issue with this approach is #4 can sometimes wonder pretty far from the rest of the flight (thats usually more common in attacking ground targets instead of air to air). -

Spudknocker replied to Peeppu's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Just wait a few days Peeppu, In the mean time theres a ton of fantastic stuff here on Combat ace in the WW2 realm... Dont be so hard on people that ask questions about the A-Team guys, A lot of new comers to CA dont understand there is an issue between the CA users and the A-Team users, I was one of those people who had no idea. So its ok Peeeppu, there is just friction between the two factions of Strike Fighters -

SF really lacks a good user friendly strike planner.
Spudknocker replied to dannavy85's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
I would definitely try the Mission Editor, If you have SF2 NA it adds a few different support missions like escort jammers etc. SF series games are really geared toward 50's-80's in mind really so swarms of target drones are out haha but with a little creativity in the mission editor you can make some great scenarios! SF has the distinction of being between Arcade and hard core DCS/Lockon which is why I think so many people love it! Its not gonna be 100% realistic but its still great for bombing Iranian nuclear bunkers or dogfighting over the Yalu... So i would def try playing with the mission editor and seeing what you can come up with! -
So I have been working on a terrain and I noticed that for some reason Mue's Target area editor does something to the target.ini file that makes it unreadable to the TFD Tool... This is what I did: I used the TFD Tool to edit some tiles... All targets are labeled and show up Then went into the Target Area Editor and made some changes to a target area and then saved... Went back to the TFD tool and the targets were no longer readable only 5 out of 200 targets show up... I noticed that the file TFD Tool has no problem with looks like this: [TargetArea001] Name=target area 1 Position=414937,147250 Radius=10000 ActiveYear=0 Location=1 Alignment=FRIENDLY <--------- with the alignment= statement last and on the one saved by the Target Area Editor its 3rd [TargetArea001] Name=Target Area 1 Position=414937,147250 Alignment=FRIENDLY <-------------- here at #3 Location=1 ActiveYear=0 Radius=10000 Anyone else had this happen?

Ya I found the issue it was saving the INI's as unicode and messed up the numbering of the targets...Thanks blaze
