Great work the pilot did it right if you've got speed get some breathing room between you and the mud ball. Work the problem if you safely can, make your desicion and stick with it. If you think you may have to get out well, you get the F out. If your confident you can make it to a landing surface go for it. I sound like an instructor ug, but when in doubt get out.
