Was MiG 23 ultimately a failure?
2skicomrade replied to Emp_Palpatine's topic in Military and General Aviation
I'm sorry for dragging this thread back up, but this is a video of a mig-23 being.... manuverable? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSsiMUKaMxc makes me wonder what the pilot could do in somthing more modern -

Kamchatka Terrain for SF2 (by Baltika, Ver 2)
2skicomrade replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Thanks for your quick reply, Wrench. Sorry to say, but the GroundObject folder which came with the Kamchatka terrain didn't include the FSS or LNG tanker. Can I find them in one of your other excellent terrains? I also saw three tugboats of various sorts in the targets.ini. The "Tugboat" (which, as you said, is in the terrain), the "Navy_Tug" (which I just found in eburger68's OTC package), and the "Tug" (which is listed in the types.ini as groundobject=true). It's this last "Tug" which I can't find. I'm just trying to make Vilyuchinsk look the best it possibly can :) Thank you! -

Wow! Such an amazing update to an already great terrain! I was looking though the targets and types.inis, and I'm wondering if you can help me find some of the ground objects which they call for. I think they're mostly ships. The Tug, LNG Tanker, and FSS. Thanks again for this very fun terrain! -
Soviet navy MiG-23?
2skicomrade replied to Stratos's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
ValAstur, your skin looks gorgeous! Its too bad TK never put an ejection seat into the stock Mig-23 (he also overlooked the leading edge slats and wing spoilers). I might have a go at converting Linder2's Mig-23A and Mig-23K to SF2NA standard -
Superb! A huge thanks to you and Krizis. Such a work of art (the detail of just the lift jets!) For multiple ejector racks, guidance pods, cockpit gunsight and all sorts of goodies (two types of Kiev ini, ships crests, yak-38 flight models/ini and much much more), I would take a look at Snailman's "Verticle Pack for Soviet Navy 1.0"

Amazing! I just want to say how great you guys are. I am extremely grateful for all the work which this community puts into constantly improving sf2. Is this the same Kamov which snailman was working on for his verticles/soviet navy pack? And Veltro2k, you posted some screenshots of an il-38 not so long ago (I'm glad that the Soviet navy is seeing so much love these days ). Imagine if we had the (equally interesting looking) ships for which these helicopters where developed.... Perhaps I need to pick up a new kind of model making hobby.
