SF2NA on Windows XP & DX9?

KeyboardChap here has and it worked for him (just above Stary's post) - http://combatace.com/topic/71140-sf2-north-atlantic/page__view__findpost__p__558088 - you could try PM'ing them for more info on his setup. -

Ref Tomcat Roll - Anything below 0.91mach at sea level is fine, above that and the sluggish roll issue occurs on my stand-alone install. Ref Map issue - The zooming in "fix" doesn't work on recon missions, maybe as you haven't done the recon of that part yet???? -

FC - how was your roll control after Mach 1? I'm having similar "issues" with the stock F-14 with a lack of roll authority above Mach 1. The Black Map thing on mine I've found is down to Zoom levels, zoom in and the map reappears????? -

Trying it stand-alone for the time being and here's what I've got so far - I Like The water effect Sinkable Carriers Difficulty level trying to kill a Carrier Tree's are real objects now, just had my wing taken off by one I Don't Like Map shows Black Joystick screwed up (you have to go into the control INI to change it, in-game doesn't work as it links the X/Y axis to the eject button!) Very slow AGM-78 Missiles (from 16km it got there 5secs before a walleye released at the same time!) All my Strike missions so far have been Anti_Ship with nothing over Iceland. Terrain is a bit "plain" - lacking in items. New Hawkeye voice acting & quality of recording is seriously crap! Overall - For all its annoying faults, and there are many with the joystick one being a real pain for those who don't know how to mod it, I think it's pretty damn good. Everything bar the voice acting should/could be fixed by the 1st patch I reckon. -
Tornado ECR/IDS Pack (German) V1.0
ianh755 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
File Name: Tornado ECR/IDS Pack (German) V1.0 File Submitter: ianh755 File Submitted: 08 March 2012 File Category: SF2 Series Add On Aircraft ***************** German Tornado ECR/IDS/Marine Pack for SF2 V1.0 ************************ This pack contains 4 German Tornado aircraft with all the sounds, effects and weapons etc necessary for use. Although initially based on Dave, AD and Sundowners Tornado GR1/GR4 pack (in which I was involved) this pack includes new models, converted SF1 skins and improved ini's over the original GR1/GR4 release. It has been tested in both a Full Merged Nov '11 and a single SF2:E Nov '11 game with no problems found (not tested in SF1). Installation ------------- Unzip then copy and paste these folders into your Mod folder (usually C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 or whatever yours is called). AIRCRAFT ------------ Aircraft Specific Info (in-game, not accurate to real life timeline) - --------------------------------------------------------------------- Tornado ECR '90 (1990-2020) - The SEAD/Electronic Warfare version of the Tornado IDS, this comes with a much more powerful ECM pod than the IDS, no Cannons and a FLIR turret under the nose. Tornado IDS '00 (2000-2020) - This is the Mid-Life Update for the IDS which gives it precision weapons like 2000lb Laser-JDAM, GBU-24, IRIS-T (post '06) and post '09 the Taurus Stand-Off Missile. It also has a secondary function in an Anti-Ship/SEAD role after the disbandment of the last Navy IDS squadron in 2005 allowing it to carry the new Kormoran 2 ASM. This comes in 2 paint schemes, an all-over grey for AG51 or a green camo design for JaboG 31 so I've allowed you to change the fuel tank colour at the loadout screen based on which skin you prefer. Tornado IDS '79 (1979-1999) - The standard IDS for the Luftwaffe it carries a fairly limited payload due to the politics of the era but does come with the awesome MW-1 Dispenser in either Anti-Runway or Anti-Tank/Personnel varieties (AI Has trouble using it as it designed for 100ft deployment and AI can't go that low). Tornado Marine/Navy IDS '82 (1982-2005) - The Naval version of the IDS, it's primary mission is Anti-Ship/SEAD and it was the only IDS capable of carrying larger 1000lb bombs and the Kormoran ASM until their disbandment started in 2000 lasting until the last Sqn went in 2005. It also carries it's defensive pods on the opposite wings to every other Tornado User. OTHER INFO ----------- Loadout Screen - -------------- As per the Other Tornado Italian/GR1/GR4 packs most of the defensive pods & A-A missiles are combined in Weapons group 1 so please don't use the in-game loadout screen to change anything in Group 1. Issues - ------ Due to the Political issues in Germany in the 80's the Luftwaffe's armory's were pretty bare and contained very few different weapon types which is why the loads outs are all very similar so be perpared for lots of MK82 Snake-Eye and BL755 sorties until 2000 and the arrival of the IDS '00 with it's enlarged weapons types. The Taurus missile is using the old Storm Shadow model as it's the only one square enough to simulate it. The Flir Turrent on the ECR has no display. With the IDS '79 Strike loadout the AI can't use the MW-1, they just pull up into a stall when trying to use it. *******If you find any issues or find that I've got something wrong please contact me on CombatAce - http://combatace.com/user/64030-ianh755/ ******************* THANKS -------- My thanks for all their hard work and efforts go to the following - Soulman - All the Decals help and his fantastic AG51 in Afghanistan Skin which I "grey'd" slightly for the European threatre. Sundowner, AD & Dave - The Original SF1 & SF2 Tornado packs including some of the Luftwaffe Skins I used for this pack. Dave - The Luftwaffe ECR Skin. Sundowner - The new IDS/ECR models and the Tornado Skin Template. Wrench - The Hangar Screen Templates. WildCat - The Navy MFG1 A/C and Weapon Skins. Ravenclaw007 - Once again for his fantastic weapons. ************************************************************************************* Have fun and thanks for Downloading.............................................IanH ************************************************************************************* Click here to download this file -
Tornado ECR/IDS Pack (German) V1.0

One thing I forgot to mention - the different MW-1's - MW-1 Anti-Runway - Takes 6 seconds to fire all 32 cratering rockets which is the pretty much the length of a runway at 550kts. MW-1 Anti-Tank/Personnel - Takes 2 seconds to fire 32 main bomblets with each one turning into cluster bomb at 100m AGL for 1280 munitions total (which is still less than the 4000+ the original could carry). Enjoy! -

Cheers for the Updated LOD, the Left Outer pylon is back again and everything works with Svetlin's ini edit (forgot about the LauncherNodeName!) These two entries don't have IRM in the Pylons Allowed Weapons Class (StationsID's 3 and 4 - Outer Pylons) [CAP] Loadout[03].WeaponType=AIM-9B Loadout[03].Quantity=1 Loadout[04].WeaponType=AIM-9B Loadout[04].Quantity=1 Loadout[05].WeaponType=AIM-9B Loadout[05].Quantity=1 Loadout[06].WeaponType=AIM-9B Loadout[06].Quantity=1 Loadout[07].WeaponType=Hawk Gunpod Loadout[07].Quantity=1 You might want to rename it [AirToAirLongRange] instead of [CAP] too as that's the proper call-out name for it, at least it works for me anyway. -

If it's just the HUD thats wrong then try adding this [HUDMaterial] entry (make a backup 1st incase this breaks something) to the F-14A_Avionics.ini between [HUD] and [HUDFont] but without seeing what doesn't work it's just guess work. I'm probably confusing you a bit here. The Pylon from the IRM and the one called Pylon_R must be two different 3D models. 1. In the original LOD you had Pylon_R (Pylon with IRM rail) as 1 object which is what you want in the new LOD, so copy that (Pylon and Rail as 1 object) to the new LOD and link it directly to the wing (not the pylon) and rename it to IRM_Rail_R. 2. The new "Pylon only" from the new LOD is kept as Pylon_R linked to the wing. That way when you have a BOMB etc it will call-out for the new Pylon_R and you will just get a Pylon. When you have an IRM it will call-out IRM_Rail_R which will be be the Pylon and Rail from the original LOD (the new Pylon_R will disappear and be replaced by the old pylon and IRM combined). So effectively IRM_Rail_R is a completely new pylon and IRM Rail all as one object, and Pylon_R is completely separate pylon with nothing to do with the IRM (completely separate objects). Hope that helps.............................Ian Here's a piccy This is Pylon_R This is what IRM_Rail_R must be as a 3d model, a new pylon and rail combined with nothing to do with Pylon_R -

ianh755 replied to russouk2004's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
RussoUK2004 - The left outer pylon has stopped showing up in the new LOD (name issue?) I think this is right (but not 100%), for the IRM pylon stuff the IRM pylon needs to include the full pylon And rail in the 3D model as IRM_Rail_R etc and not just linked to IRM rail alone so PylonR = Pylon only and IRM-Rail_R = PYlonR + IRM_Rail_R as a complete model. -
More than 32 Rockets in a Pod?
ianh755 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Hi all, I've hit a bit of a snag with the MW-1 Sub Munition dispenser. As it's classed by the game as a rocket pod it's limited to 32 rockets but I could do with somehow making it 112 rockets? Other than adding 3x MW-1's through the loadout but can't find a way of delaying the firing the other 2 pods so has anyone got any idea how I could do this if I'm stuck with 32 rockets total (not ROF, I'd like to fire each MW1 sequentially via a delay)? I've looked at making it a Gun Pod too but it doesn't work for me. Cheers! -
