  1. I'm using a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro - http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Extreme-Joystick-Silver-Black/dp/B00009OY9U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1325039253&sr=8-1 which is pretty good (and cheap!)
  2. Cheers altered mine to 0.314, the 0.332 shows a bit too much lug in comparison (something the Tornado pack suffered from too - I like seeing Lug! )
  3. Ravenclaw - Something I noticed with the PW4_Beta bomb, the diameter needs changing in the data.ini file to Diameter=0.33200 as the original Diameter=0.27000 is perfect for the normal GBU-12 but doesn't include the extra height of the databus/fuzing cables that run on the top on a PW4 meaning that the suspension lugs get modelled about 3-4in into the pylon. The above Diameter just shows the bottom of the suspension lugs as IRL. I gave the Skipper II a run about earlier too and again it's a work of art!
  4. Don't worry about it, your models very good when I do a comparison looking my reference pics and it was easily sorted with an data.ini tweak. Here's the best quality pic I had of the underside - http://files.air-attack.com/MIL/eurofighter/eurofighter_paveway.jpg and it looks like the AMRAAM's may have shorter rear fins but I can't tell for sure.
  5. It'll still hit 19-23g at Mid level (10k-30kft) on burners (around 1.2 to 2.1 Mach) with an intentional hard pull up but thats pretty extreme handling TBH (and in 1 case of 23g it ripped the right wing off!). On Supercruise flying I can't get it over 14G and with sensible flying it's a great FM with no wing wobble etc.
  6. Cheers Eric, it'd been awhile since I'd done them on the Tornado pack so the 1st few edits were a bit "extreme" but they're all spot on now (centreline was too far back & mis-angled too). The only issue I can see now is the rear AMRAAM/Meteor recessed bays where I "think" the A/C model is slightly wrong as it looks to be about 1ft (30cm) too short in the rear half for any of the AMRAAM models we have which makes the top fin on the rear missiles stick up through the skin - Fixed, See EDIT below. ***EDIT*** Used the AMRAAM C-1 Model (smallest one) and moved it about and got it to look "right" in-game (although not true to life) so the fin is now hidden inside the A/ C body.
  7. Hi, just D/L'd the beta and got a quick question, are you planning to make it multi-nation, keep it RAF only or release separate Nation versions? I ask as I've redone the data.ini for an RAF only version (to match the skin) so that the right RAF weapons (Brimstone/StormShadow/PW4 etc) hang on the pylons correctly but I haven't started on Italian/German/Saudi etc versions yet in case it's released as a Multi-Nation version. Oh and I noticed that the IFR probe is missing but the animation for it is great! RAF Weapons load piccy (before being fitted to pylons correctly -Centreline way too low, all others slightly too high) Cheers................................................IanH
  8. Yeap no problem! This may not be the quickest way but here's what I did - 1. Copy your current SF2 folder from your Saved Games folder and paste it on your new hard drive (i.e E:\SF2 or what ever letter your Hard drive is, I'll use E:\ as an example) 2. Open your original SF2 folder in Saved Games and delete everything EXCEPT "Options.ini" and if it's there "Version.ini" (not 100% on the version file but better safe than sorry). 3. Open Options.ini and scroll to the bottom, change the last two lines (which are the location of the Mod folder and Screenshots) to the hard drive where your new mod folder is i.e [Mods] ModsEnabled=TRUE Directory=C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Saved Games\ThirdWire\SF2 Europe Editors=StrikeFighters2 [screenShots] Directory=C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Saved Games\ThirdWire\SF2 Europe\ScreenShots Format=JPG becomes [Mods] ModsEnabled=TRUE Directory=E:\SF2 Europe Editors=StrikeFighters2 [screenShots] Directory=E:\SF2 Europe\ScreenShots Format=JPG 4. Finally delete the "Options.ini" from your new Mod Folder on the new Hard Drive. Then start a game and make sure everything works. The longest part is copying the mod folder over at the start if it's got lots of extra mods added.
  9. I've dropped little 3kg practice bombs from a Harrier GR7 and Tornado GR4 which obviously made no sound as the get dropped but the 1000lb'ers I dropped in the Sim before I was allowed to drop the little ones for real all made a "Thunk" sound as they were dropped and the pilots said that sounds right (obviously no whistling wind noise in the cockpit though). I wonder how easy it to make a bomb "make the whistling noise" from the outside view so if your viewing the target you hear the bomb whistle a second before the explosion???
  10. Doh, the Mk78 name confused me there - Here's the back of a AGM-45 but there's not much detail TBH (middle missile) Bottom Left in white - again not much use I'm afraid, people just don't want to take pics on the rear of missiles/bombs etc.
  11. Wow thats a hard one to find! The best I can come up with is the rear of the AGM-78 (whose rocket powered the Skipper) but whether it look the same I couldn't say! http://www.primeportal.net/hangar/bill_spidle/agm-78_walk.htm
  12. Murphy'S - Mine are taken straight from the MGunny pack and show up fine so not sure what your issue is (skin name etc?)?
  13. There's some serious Bass coming through my subwoofer with the big shells, sounds Awesome!
  14. Don't know if this'll help much but here's a website with hundreds of upclose pics of an A-37b - http://www.primeportal.net/hangar/eduardo_fadul/a-37b_dragonfly/
  15. You could do it by editing the data.ini but because the 3D model hasn't got the AAM launchers on the outer pylon those missiles would hand in the air not attached to anything which looks terrible, unless you borrowed the 2IR mod for the SF1 Tornado which could get around that issue. So do-able but it'd look very bad!
  16. Ah a bit of a confession here, it was me! I'd completely forgotten about removing them. I'd never done any skinning before so I did some test's for a nicer version of the UK skins as the McGunny packs were very plain and one of the tests I did was that Thermal skin as the skin I borrowed was a higher res one (512x512 instead of 256x256) and I wanted to see how it changed things, only I forgot to remove it from the pack when I'd done and, as my install doesn't have it (it's a SF1 Modern Bombs "CPU-123" skin type for me which I though was in the pack), I didn't realise the Thermal stuff had been left in there, sorry!
  17. Hi there, I was fiddling with the Durandel anti-runway bomb/rocket trying to get it to work on a German Tornado and can across this in it's data.ini "WeaponDataType=5" Now I've got a list of the guidance types - GuidanceType=0 None (ie Dumb bombs/unguided rockets) GuidanceType=1 Wire Guided (ie TOW) GuidanceType=2 Radio Command Guided (ie AS-30) GuidanceType=3 Semi-Auto Command Guided (ie Javelin SAM) GuidanceType=4 Laser Guided (ie GBU-12)* GuidanceType=5 TV Homing (ie Walleye)* GuidanceType=6 Imaging Infrared Homing (ie AGM15 D/F/G, GBU-15)* GuidanceType=7 Inertial Homing (ie Exocet, Kormoran, Sea Eagle, ASMP, Apache) GuidanceType=8 GPS Homing (ie GBU-31/32)* GuidanceType=9Anti Radiation (ie AGM-45/88, Martel, Kh-28) GuidanceType=10 Heat Seaking (ie Sidewinder) GuidanceType=11 Beam Riding (ie SA-2) GuidanceType=12 Semi-Active Radar Homing (ie Sparrow, SA-6) GuidanceType=13 Active Radar Homing (ie Amraam) and of the different allowed classes - BOMB ... Bomb LGB ..... Laser-guided Bomb EOGB .. Electro-Optically Guided Bomb AWD ... Area-weapon Dispensor NUC .... Nuclear Bomb RCKT .. Rocket, single WGR ... Wire-guided Rocket CGR ... Command-guided Rocket LGR .... Laser-Guided Rocket EOGR .. Electro-Optically Guided Rocket ARM .... Anti-radiation Missile ASM .... Anti-ship missile IRM ..... Heat-seeking Missile SAHM .. Semi-active Homing Missile AHM .... Active Homing Missile RP ...... Rocket Pod GP ...... GunPod EP ...... ECM Pod LP ...... Laser Pod NP ...... Navigation Pod DLP .... Data-link Pod RCN ... Triple Homing Rocket Rack MER ... Multiple Ejector Rack BFT .... Bomb carrying Fuel Tank But what does the "WeaponDataType=?" signify and is there a list of all the possible uses? Cheers........................................IanH
  18. Cheers for that, it explains why it wasn't showing up as it was classed as a drop-tank! Got it sorted now
  19. Cool! Are you doing the Enhanced versions too? PS I found something about the GBU or CBU/CPU naming - "The UK 1,000-lb LGB is not designated CPU-123. The CPU-123 is the computer processing unit portion of the MAU-169 guidance section (it's the green part between the DSU-18 "birdie" in front and the brown DCU-199 control section, which in turn attaches to the adapter collar appropriate to whichever warhead it is being mated to). All three components are marked individually with their designation, and then marked in larger script their assembly designation. I can only think that someone in the past has read the CPU 123 designation off that particular section and assumed that was the designation of the whole item." So that clears up why the McGunny pack named it that then ***EDIT*** Took the '98 Tornado GR4 for a spin with the new/old GBU-27 models Wow what a difference!
  20. Hi Raven - You're right, I used the GBU reference as that it's called in the McGunny pack so I though that is what most people here would know it as. As you stated unlike the USAF with it's mix and match of guidance system and bombs we only have 3 Paveway bombs, En/PW2 = Mk20/22 1000lb (in GW1 '91 we used WW2 Mk13's when the newer ones ran out), En/PW3 = BLU-109 penetrator (USAF GBU-24A/B and E/B) & PW4 = US Mk82 (the RAF didn't have any 500lb bombs so we bought the Mk82 to replace the En/PW2 series). Those are the only LGB's we have so we just refer to them as their Paveway number i.e "We're fitting a Paveway 3 lads" etc and everyone knows what we mean. When I did the weapons for the Tornado pack I realiseed that most people would have the McGunny pack or similar which adds it's own LGB's so I renamed the weapons and their folders "RAF_????????" so it'd be obvious in-game which versions were the RAF ones and which were McGunny ones so "1000-lbs Paveway_II" becomes "RAF_1000-lbs Paveway_II" etc
  21. Thanks for the PW4 update! I've just seen the GBU-123 model in the screenshots thread and yet again it looks stunning, I can't wait for the final release as both this and the new A-10C cockpit have rekindled my Sf2 bug after a few months of playing ARMA2 only
  22. I d/l'd the beta and they're fantastic, especially loving the little details like the arming wire animation! One thing I saw was that the PW4 has no "sensor glass" on the model like the rest. I really can't wait to start playing with the PW3 models when they come out too
  23. Ravenclaw-007 - Yes it is the EGBU-24 Nose photo above only shows the blanking cover location not an AE. The GPS AE is mounted the same way as the PW4 etc where it sticks up about 1 inch above the skin and is an olive drab colour the same as the EnPW 2 in the pics below.
  24. WOW! Here's some RAF Enhanced PW3 shots. Virtually the same head but with the GPS data cable running from tail to head like the PW4. Don't know if the US EnPW3 is the same though? EGBU-24 closeup on the head (GPS AE visable) Hope that helps!
