Hi all, I'm helping Stipe make a Gripen E and I've hit a problem with the new pylons which, due to their unique size requirements, means they'll have to be made from scratch. So I was hoping a 3D guy could make the following .LOD for me - A single rectangular shape 65cm high by 200cm long by 12cm wide - It can be simply mapped (1 colour all-over with no detail) however if you fancy doing more mapping or modelling to it then feel free but I'll be happy with the simple rectangle if not. Cheers folks!

Yeap gave it a little tweak so the RPM values match the scale on the image more closely. -
NATO 5 Tornado question

Hi there, when I redid the tornado package for Dave I made Group 1 in the loading screen load the two external tanks and the two wingtip pods and, because the pylons have different items, the game shows that as "empty" but they should still show up in-game. Can you post up the weapons section of the tornado's data.ini please as I don't have EdBurgers NF5 version to see if anything was changed from my version? Thanks! ***edit*** - Here's what my loadout screen looks like - Group 1 is the tanks and ECM pods together*** -

Cheers SupGen thats spot on - I was getting Throttle % confused with RPM % so I was expecting to see the needle at 0% RPM with the throttle at 0% rather than at 68% so to me it looked like the needle was going haywire! -

Cheers Cliff, sadly it's still badly borked! Here's a piccy of the gauge with your settings at 0%, 50% and 100% throttle (the counter doesn't move either) and you can see how needle should start at the bottom at 0% and swing clock-wise to 100% at the 3'o'clock position (if my description above wasn't clear, which has been known! ). -

I kept them separate to help me remember which was left and right without having to find the "-" in front of the 1st figure, mainly due to me missing it sooooo many times and moving the wrong one The min/max aren't used and the figures were a hang over from the Copy/Paste of some weapons pylon stuff I think (not too sure TBH). I'm currently getting my arse handed to me a bloody RPM needle and counter! I can't for the life of me get this to work properly (it's borked in the "C" model too) I want idle at 180' I want 60% at 270' I want 100% at 360' I want 112% at 75' and I can't get the counter to read above 001 either. I've spent 4 hours on it and i want to smash everything in a Hulk style rage, especially as I know someone here will post up the correct setting within minutes of seeing it as it must be simple! Raven - Thanks for the offer but it's fine with just one pylon and 2 ini entries. I'm also still playing with the spacing which I'm still not 100% happy with as the right pylon LGB's hit the Laser Pod slightly. -

Cheers Matey! It's a great shape for a normal A/C but sadly it's not tall enough for this particular mod (again would need 2 of them stacked). With the unique requirements of this pylon I'll see if someone wouldn't mind knocking up a quick 3D rectangular cube that I can use instead. It seems even SAAB have had the same problem - If you look closely you can see they've had to double up the pylons too! ***edit*** - Found a cool picture of the weapons load the Gripen can carry so made a quick mock up (don't know if it'll stay TBH) -

Wrench - Thanks very much for the T28 info, they're almost perfect but not quite. Svetlin - I haven't got anything although I do have the PF and PFM in my A/C folder. Any idea what it was called? The current "issue" is still these pylons. Due to the location of the bombs (which can't be moved with them cutting into parts of the A/C or Laser Pod) and the Gripen "C" 3D model shape (pylons sit on the join at the rear of the intakes and engine bay - on an "E" it's flattened out), where the pylons "have" to fit on the A/C the pylons have to be either quite tall (about 1.5x the height of the T28's) or be plain enough that you can "stack" 2 pylons on-top of each other to double the height without the join being visible in the model (i.e no "legs" or bomb holders like the T28 has at the bottom etc) A picture paints a thousand words so here's my issue, remember that the bombs can't be moved any higher or further forward so something must be done with the pylons only - Looks OK from the Front - But you can see here the pylon is floating off the A/C. Here you can see that the A/C "C" 3D model (the rear of the intake into the engine bay) is quite sloped making it difficult to use the T28 model (which can't be stacked either). If it was missing the top and the legs on the bottom it'd be perfect! Another wider shot of the issue, and the lovely IRST dome. The location of the pylons comes from the various pics floating around showing it carrying 2x GBU10's. These bombs are one of the main reasons the bombs can't be moved, due the the guidance fins of the GBU's cutting into the airframe. You can use smaller bombs (GBU-12's) and raise the pylons but then they cut into the Litening Pod when carried. One good sized pylon would cure all this and ease my now pounding headache -

Rough WIP based on the top pic - The new pylons are pretty poor due to the placement on the "C" model where the U/C is and the body narrows for the engine but I'm tired now (2am nearly) so I'll crack on tomorrow! -

Wrench - It's the canards not returning to centre but I can't figure out why??? Pylons - I've got a single Missile pylon from the Sea Harrier FA2 pack (A2G pylon with a LAU attached - See pic) which can do in a pinch but nothing made for bombs and the pylons in my pilot folder are all setup for other A/C using multiple pylons so I can't use those. Any ideas where I can get a single bomb pylon? -

Hi Guys, as has been noted this is the existing "C" 3D model being reused to represent the "E" via *.ini edits only. There is, as has been correctly pointed out, no "E" 3D model yet so this is the best Stipe (with his 1st Mod) and myself can come-up with. A new model would be great or even just the extra pylons via Fake Pilot but without either of us being 3D guys there's not much more we can do. As a side matter I think there's still an FM issue with the existing "C" model to be sorted out too where the aircraft continues to pitch up or down after the stick is neutral but I can't seem to find the problem as fixing FM's is way outta my league so any help with that would be gratefully appreciated! Tried the AGM-123 (setup as a LGR by Ravenclaw) and works but you need a laser pod fitted to your A/C for it to fire (unless shooting at the Primary Target). -
Screen Render Problem

It was down to his laptop having dual graphics cards and the way Windows uses both GPU's but SF2 only rendered with one with his setup. Of the people that have posted with this issue before, some cured it by updating all their graphics and CPU drivers but for others the only way around it is via the graphics card driver settings where you have to disable SLI/X-fire (depending on GPU maker). -

I've done a new FRS.1 pack with Early, Falklands and Late skins etc with enormous help from ChrisBV and Russo. All thats left is finishing off the "new-ish" 3D model which was made by Russo combining of the best bits of the two current models and adding some bits. Here's the Late Skin and the Falklands skin below it (tried to make the painted over White undersides/roundel look hand-painted but not convinced yet) - -

When SF2:NA came out TK messed up the controls.ini file so it doesn't match what the in-game controls show. He released a fix but I'm not sure it works TBH. TW Store - Down for anyone else or just me?
