Rafale C for SF2
ianh755 replied to Heberth's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Saisran - My AGM-65E is set as USN only and my AGM-65E2 was as USMC only so neither should be available to France. I changed both to include France and tested it and both mount normally, 1 on each of the 4 wing pylons (2 per side) with no problems. Station 10 and 11 was for the missing Outer Pylons (not used in this model) and being missing won't effect the loadout.ini as long as the loadout.ini also misses 10 and 11. Here's my Rafale data & loadout.ini's and my AGM-65E folder - see if these work for you (230kb) - http://www.ianhensha...f2/rafalefix.7z -

No it's just fixes the brimstone launcher. I'll be honest I've never seen an AGM-65 mount backwards. Is it just the D/E version it does it with? ***EDIT*** is the AGM-65 loading on the brimstone launcher or is it single or on on a stock TLR? -
Rafale C for SF2
ianh755 replied to Heberth's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
The brimstone loading backwards is a known fault, it's the Launcher causing the issue as it's been programmed wrong - Here's the fix - http://combatace.com...one-3-pack-fix/ However, Brimstone is a UK/RAF weapon and therefore won't be available to the French/NATO Rafale as UK/RAF weapons are not programmed into the Rafale_data.ini. This is what is causing the the drop down issue, it can't use brimstone (even though it'll show up because you've selected a RAF typhoon) so it uses the nearest French/NATO EOGR that it can find, which is the AGM-65. If you want to use brimstone you'll either have to change the Rafale_Data.ini to allow UK weapons OR change the Brimstone Missile & Launcher Data.ini's so it's exported to France. Both are simple to do but If you need any help with those just ask on here and we'll help out as best as we can. -

Hi there, which AGM's is this happening with? There was a problem with Brimstones mounted backwards but I haven't seen any others with this problem. -

I know we all think it's a patch issue but I did quite a bit of testing on my Jul 2012 rig (all games merged) on all terrains (except NA) and had no problems, even dropping at ridiculous heights/speeds/angles/ranges. Here's the quick writeup I did - http://combatace.com/topic/75856-jdam-issues/#entry601837 -

It drops forwards for me too on stock & 3rd Party F4's using stock and 3rd party tanks but the forward motion is soooo quick you have to pause the game almost 1 frame per second to see it. Bit of a strange one! -

Splash screen not showing.
ianh755 replied to pcpilot's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Although I'm not sure if it has to be a BMP (I'll be honest) the file name HAS to be INITSCREEN.bmp or .jpg for it to work. I have my own and thats how mine are named and they work. I took the idea from these two Splash Screen Mods - http://combatace.com/files/file/12799-sf2-splashscreen/ and http://combatace.com/files/file/12816-1680-x-1050-mainscreen-modification-for-sf2-north-atlantic/ which show how it works. -

I started a course on the C-130J avionic & electrical systems this week and we've got an aircrew flight deck trainer run by Windows PC's so I'm wondering how good Sf2 would look on it? -
Hi there, I'm trying to make a bit of skin look hand painted (streaks, lines like a paint brush would leave) in photoshop CS2 and I've been using the texture filter (Filter-Texture-Texturizer-Canvas) but it looks too strong. Does anyone know of a decent plug-in (brush or texture) that could do the job? Ta!

Does anyone have a Photoshop Texture Filter to make something look Hand-Painted?
ianh755 replied to ianh755's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
Cheers folks, the effect I'm trying rather badly to recreate is this - during the Falklands war the Sea Harriers white underside was hand painted in the same Extra Dark Sea Grey as the top half. Now the top half was done with spray guns etc in a paint booth back at base etc so it's smooth where as the rushed hand painted bits were done with rollers and paint brushes so there'd be texture, drag lines etc in the paint. I've done the SkateZilla method but the only texture I've got that kind of fits is the Canvas one which is lines in one direction. However the mapping of the gun pods and Underside of the elevators is stretched (quite badly for the gun pods) so all this might end up coming to nothing after all as I can't get the fuselage and pods/elevators to match each other. The fuselage looks good but the pods are very stretched. Here's just the Fuselage, the lines are too thick (smallest setting on effect). You can also see where the White bit of the roundel has been overpainted blue (rough hand painted). And here the Gun Pods added - See what I mean about the mis-match in effect size -

Did some testing and have no issues on Weapons set to "Easy", "Medium" or "Hard" (but missed with the silly Loft on Hard as I thought I would). I'm at July '12 patch with all 5 & 2 exp all merged - 1 each GBU-31/32/38 from level flight from 30nm @ 35000ft, 20nm @ 25000ft and 10nm @ 5000ft - All hit the targets. 1 each GBU-31/32/38 from a short range high angle dive - 3.5nm @ 45' dive from 15000ft - All hit the targets. 1 each GBU-31/32/38 from a very short range "loft" style (most difficult for guidance) - 3.5nm @ 45' Nose up from 10000ft - All hit the targets. 1 GBU-56 (guidance set to GPS in .ini) in a high speed high angle very short range dive - 1.5nm @ 60' dive from 10000ft @ Mach 1.3 - Hit the target. JDAMS are from the MGunny pack and I don't think they've been edited at all but can't be 100% sure. -
