If I ever manage to, I'll get my hands on a copy.It seems to be one hell of a book.

You just saw people get shot down on cam.Even the thought that they were going to die and couldn't do nothing about it makes any conscious human being (ouside of Syria) feel sorrow. You need to be a Syrian rebel to actually forget sorrow after doing/seeing such a thing.

F-14A/B/D HELP!
thodouras95 replied to AMBUDU's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I had the same problem when I first installed TMF's Cats. From what I had been told, I needed the F14avionics.dll (or something).Try reinstalling/installing SF2NA in the same directory as the game that you want to use with the TMF Tomcat. This should work. Good luck :) -
IRIS: F-14
thodouras95 replied to SkateZilla's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
If it's a Tomcat, and it's well-simulated, with a RIO cockpit as well, it's gonna be worth its money.really, how much was the F-14 for FSX? -
IRIS: F-14

I only skimmed from the posts, so: Is IRIS up to making a (free?) F-14 compatible with all and any DCS game(s)? -

Speaking of Alkalis, and since I'm too lazy to search, has anyone made a MiG with Alkalis included as armament for SF2? -
Using R-3S(K-13)"AA-2 Atoll" missile
thodouras95 replied to regula50's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Actually, it depends on the target (and its moves).Try locking up a MiG-17/21 regardless of the altitude from 3-4km range.Do the same to a bomber.See the difference :D -

I'd like to post a few more, this time from Vietnam: This is either the first kill I scored in this game, or the first gun kill that I ever scored in this game: First carrier landing: Sunset Phantom: Dead MiGs: ripple-fired the 3 Sparrows I had left to down this guy: Same Fresco resting in pieces: Splashed this one head-on, at ~2km (cannon, of course). RTB After I landed, I checked on the rest of the flight, and my cockpit got kinda bugged. It turns out that its really nice :D VPAF Fresco camos: What I did to the Cau Long Bien (first time bombing it <3) A gun cam can't get any better, unless it's a slow-mo video (thud kill): -

It once did...well, it still does, but not as much as it did back then. -
Indeed, I can't disagree at all.Giving in seems like the only option. This war is most likely lost.

Using R-3S(K-13)"AA-2 Atoll" missile
thodouras95 replied to regula50's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Actually, these kills include both USN & USAF.But you're right, had it not been for the reevaluation of the F-4's capabilities, the number of VPAF MiGs lost would've probably been quite lower. -
Saw this, figured it would get a chuckle in this crowd...

thodouras95 replied to regula50's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
One sec.Which version of the Atoll are we talking about?8km?Like, really?THe AIM-9B (according to http://www.f-16.net/f-16_armament_article1.html ) had a range of no more than 3km (ok, let's make it round, 3-4km).How in God's name did the Soviets mange to double its range? It's the '60s Soviet Union we're talking about, how? "Long" range performance was something that both missiles could achieve...when hitting drones/slow movers, of course.Neither the MiG-21 nor the WLDOMP had the right weapons, or the right pilots. The MiG-21 was an agile design, however, and put that feature to -at least- decent use. However, Well, according to ACIG (and my -hopefully- correct calculations) USAF & USN F-4s claimed some 157 MiG/made in China MiG copies downed. The VPAF's confirmed anti-F-4 record is 60-62 kills. That's not superior, although it's not a bad number.I'd rather have F-4s defending me, though. -
North Atlantic cruise missiles: Have you ever downed any?
thodouras95 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Title says it all.I tried to intercept one of them by launching all six AIM-54s against it.None hit, so just wonderin' if you guys have ever succeeded in doing so (if you got any pics, don't hesitate). -

Sounds like full AB and some serious luck. Those things go to Mach 4 and to their crazy flights altitudes which I cannot remember atm in no-time. -

thodouras95 replied to thodouras95's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Yes, and epically succeeded.Yes, I am Chuck Norris. I usually order the other aircraft to wack the bombers, should there be any survivors, I shoot them, but they don't always go down, so it all comes down to their load.If they Vampire, and I've wasted my Phoenixes, one of the ships is very likely to get boomed. That's why I've learnt my lesson, and from now on, I always save at least 2 AIM-54s as backup.Under normal circumstances, I never Fox 3 six times for a single missile. But I just can't get over the fact that I fired 6 AIM-54s and they all MISSED!!!! Btw, anyone got any pics?
