One heck of a hard decision to make, particularly on the first 2.The Phantom can wack anything when put to good use, but ignoring aircraft such as the Kfir or the Nesher is simply a crime.As for the 1st, I can safely say that the -17 is easily any plane's bitch, as long as it is kept away from your six.Should it ever get there, I hope you got some thrust available...Some versions of the Fishbed and the Farmer carry both guns and missiles, and their agility level is fine, to say the least.But they still can't beat a Sparrow :P Anyway, I'll go for the Fresco and the Phantom, cause when I fly in Frescos vs F-4s, I almost always die, and vice versa (when the hostile formation is 4 aircraft or more, I'm very likely to find myself in a MiG's sights).However, I can't help but agree with: and (when carrying AIM-9Bs, or going for guns).

I think that this is true.Whenever I am about to gun down Badgers in SF2I, I always set my gunsight to A2G.Else, I'll get closer than I have to, and will probably see my wing fly away from the rest of the plane... Splendid idea.Seriously :P

Wow, I was thinking about looking for such a F.1 just this morning!Truly a remarkable aircraft, although its career in Iraqi service is said to have been somewhat...bad. Btw, although this is probably a stupid question, did the Iraqis supply any Exocets along with the aircraft (most were spent in the '80s, but idk, maybe they wanted a missile or two to survive)?

Far too effective, I'd say.If you're lucky, one short burst will have enough power to make a bomber explode.Same for tanks.As for getting close, well, what can I say, I'll fly against less agile fighters (cause most of the other ones rarely let me get close to them whilst turning). I apply these tactics when attacking bombers, particularly with the F-16; it's gunsight is probably the best in the whole series.However, I have nearly quit using the 2nd one on fighters, as my calculation is rarely accurate (both me and the LCOS fail at that most of the time) Really?I'm more of a missileer in Falcon (BMS), but when it's gun time, it's actually a lot easier for me to get a good burst (although I struggle to get a good angle for at least 5 mins) Now that you mention bullet speed...can I edit it?

AFAIK, chaffs are capable of fooling a missile's, uh, what's it called, I think proximity fuze.Dunno whether TW modeled that too, tho. Anyway, nice report.Definitely ended up way better than some of my other x vs MiG-29 battles :P

Hi there, First off, let me "introduce" myself.What I basically am is a 15-year old (I hope that I do not count as being below the minimum age allowed) "pilot" (Strike Fighter series "veteran", and currently BMS4 rookie) (ignore the word "pilot", since Mary Poppins is actually a better combat aviator than me, and the word "veteran" as well, as I never really learnt this game as well as I wanted to), particularly obsessed with '60s-'70s fighters.I'm from Greece (but who cares), and, a huge Tomcat lover.Well, that's it pretty much, I guess.Now, something else. So, you're suggesting I should install SF2:I once more in C:\Program Files\ThirdWire\Strike Fighters 2 North Atlantic?I'll try and let you know how it went, although, IIRC I once did that and Israel wouldn't detect NA aircraft while NA itself would crash.

Thank you everyone for the welcome and for the advice.Regarding the Tomcats, I think that my installs aren't merged (if merged means having 2 games installed together in the same folder).I did download the TMF F-14 pack, and aside from the fact that what I saw has left me speechless, to say the least, I have 2 little problems, though (I haven't been able to go through the word files that describe the F-14's avionics yet, so, i what I'm looking for is in there, let me know).My first problem is that the key that I normally turn the radar on with (pgup) doesn't work for the Tomcat.The 2nd is that I essentially have no HUD, apart from the gunsight.If anyone knows whether i did anything wrong, or how to fix these, please let me know.
