And back then only the father in the average US family had to work, and average family had 5-6 members, compared to todays 3-4 members where even the kids have to work for the same family standard. The same happened in Europe.

I want to make a cursor knob and various other sliders and switches functional on my flying stick in Falcon BMS. BMS doesn't seem to reckonise them on default, but I've read they can be set up via some directX thingy and profile settings. Is there a guide on how to do it?

SF2 Israel- campaign ends with one Death?
hrc replied to kenportner's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
You have to refly the mission and end the mission alive, not dead or captured. -

When roster is out of pilots?
hrc posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
What happens? Does squadron recieves new pilots? I'm aware it recieves planes and ordnance through supply... In Yom Kopir campaign my unit has less pilots than planes (5 and 15 respectively) -

What Enemy Skill Level setting do most play at?
hrc replied to Dillon's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I play on Normal. But I also wonder what is the difference between Easy/Normal/Hard in general and especialy with enemy pilots. -
When roster is out of pilots?
hrc replied to hrc's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
After deliberately sacrifising the last three pilots (besides me) in my squadron by ordering them to attack air defences west of the canal (where they were shot down by SAMs and AAAs), and thus leaving me as the soley capable airman in the unit, debriefing informed me that my campaign is finished: -
Auto Pitching on Logitech Xtreme 3d Pro
hrc replied to saisran's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
It's really worth to buy a more expensive joystick. I've learned that the hard way, had two Logitech Xtreme 3d and both went bananas after a year or so (very often roll decided not to work). Then I bought second hand Saitek x52 pro and it works like the first day for 3 years now... It's a bit expensive in the start but it pays of at the long run, and the experience is better (separate throttle, more buttons, etc) -
Adjust Field of View
hrc replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
I guess what Dave wants is to look around in all directions without limitations. Then this is what should be set in viewlist.ini: LimitPitch=FALSE LimitYaw=FALSE LimitRoll=FALSE -
Apart from from the kimono wearing and hilarious coreography lead singer, the song cool!

Help using Laser Guided bombs?
hrc replied to Dillon's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I always release LGB's at 20 000 - 25 000 ft, roughly 5km horizontal distance from the target (I can tell when I am 5km away 'cause one square on the map is about 5km), Speed is normal cruising speed. I hit every time except when the bomb doesn't lock, which is ingame random thing. You can release LGB's from difrent altitudes but you have to see or recalculate the altitude and distance anew. -
Pacific Fighters US aircraft performance.
hrc replied to Bladerunner's topic in IL-2 Series / Pacific Fighters / Cliffs of Dover: General Discussion
AI planes of your type shouldn't be faster than you. Note that the speed that is shown in your cockpit or screen is IAS (indicated air speed) as opposed to true air speed. IAS is alway lower than TUA, the higher you fly the greater the inaccuracy. I'm always flying with realistic settings on, and when propeler pitch, fuel mixture, and supercharger position are set accordingy I get speeds that are true to what performance data on paper says. I've never flown without Realistic settings on in IL-2, so I guess that could be your problem, but I'm not quite sure. Anyway, the depth of aerodynamic presentation, detailed flight characteristics are truly amazing in IL-2, and I am sure that no other sim has such a detailed and accurate flying, and I tried most of them. IL-2 doesn't cease to amaze me in that regard to this day, and am playing it since 2003. -
What was the optimum air speed or engine power for a WW2 fighter to make the tightest horizontal turn? I know it's not the most precise question due to many WW2 fighters, but I quess there was a general air speed and power setting to make best turns...

Thanks for your answers and links. Some interesting reading and technical data...

Thanks for your quick answers, I assume the turn is made with extend flaps?
