Does Anyone Have A Good Joystick Elevation Setup?
Chutedangle replied to Chutedangle's topic in IL-2 Series / Pacific Fighters / Cliffs of Dover: General Discussion
hrc, I tried trimming the elevator as you suggested. Worked great! It even fixed the gunsite which was floating around. I intend to use the engine management as soon as I get used to everything else. Thanks for your help. -
I couldn't get either one to play.

Duhhhh, Where Do These Files Go?
Chutedangle posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I have downloaded the TornadoF3. I understand that the airplane folder goes into the mod folder for airplanes. But there are two other files there along with the plane folder. TornadoIDS_destroyed.bmp TornadoIDS_destroyed.LOD Where exactly do those two go? Thanks much. -

First attempt to bomb enemy runway Are there any explanations as how to use shiny new plane? Thanks... -
Does anyone actually own this thing? I am interested into looking deeper but there seems to be a couple of hang ups.

First Strike Mission In B-52
Chutedangle replied to Chutedangle's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Wrench, I understand what you said, at least I think I do. They are there for the benefit of other types of missions. Makes sense to me. But what I am wondering is, why waste so must time and energy on something that isn't going to work because of so many other problems? -
First Strike Mission In B-52
Chutedangle replied to Chutedangle's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
After giving this some thought, which took a lot of thought, I wonder why someone would put so much time and effort into something that provided so little pay off? If you can't create a plane that can't bomb the ground and no one can figure out the radar, what was the point? Again I am just asking, not trying to bad mouth anyone. Maybe they didn't know at the time what we know now? I guess from all that I know and have read, this is a fighter game. Anyway, thank you all who make a good game into a great game. -
First Strike Mission In B-52
Chutedangle replied to Chutedangle's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
After reading all of this I guess I'm returning to fighters. I will leave the big bombers to the AI, he seems to be a lot smarter than I am. Thanks for all the help. -
First Strike Mission In B-52
Chutedangle replied to Chutedangle's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Nukes sound like a good idea. Yes I understand that flying a big fat bomber is not the same as a compact fighter. But if your going to present a plane, that at least you document how the radar bombing works? Understand that I am not bad mouthing the people who do all this modding and make an average game into something special. But you should understand that not all of us are computer expects or can focus our lives on this game. But I will take your advice as to practice. It would be most helpful though if someone has already written an explanation, since inventing the wheel twice makes no sense. -
"Attack My Target"
Chutedangle posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
If I have a target lit up, air or ground, and I instruct my wingman to attack my target and then switch targets. Will he attack the original target or the target I switch to? Thanks... -

Did You Know, Drones?
Chutedangle posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I was just screwing around and saw the QF-100D Drone as an aircraft in SFIsrael. I thought, what the hell so I picked it as a single mission plane .4 of us took off from an airbase and started down the road, on autopilot. I didn't have my stick or throttle hooked up since I just wanted to see where this was going. We ran into 4 Mirages, Israel marked and they attacked. We dodged every heat seeker but fell victim to their guns. I hooked up my flight stuff and tried again. I fired 4 sidewinders and downed 3 enemy planes. IN A FRIGGIN DRONE... I figured I would be announced as the greatest drone fighter ever, but it was not to be. -
Offline for a few days
Chutedangle replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I'll be lost, thats for sure. But take of yourself, your the only self you have. -
Good for you! I can only imagine how your mother feels. Hoping you recover fully in a very short time.

I can't imagine playing any flight sim without 5.1 now. I always used the trackclip that came with TRI5 but got tired of wearing a hat. Got the Trackclip pro. Much better without the hat, but I don't see that it works any better. And the design of the locking clip really sucks.

F-117, I'm Always Dropping Bombs Late.

I can't seem to drop my bombs correctly. I always seem to be late. What am I looking for as the correct time to pickle? Thanks... -
Wingman Trying To Get Me Killed!
Chutedangle posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
So we take off from base to hit a rail bridge. Two F-117's, me and crazy Joe. My auto pilot kills the lights once I am up and running. I am sailing through the sky all black and feeling stealthy. I look over at my wingman and the fool looks like a flying christmas tree. He does the whole flight winking and blinking. There is no command to tell him to tone it down. Not to mention I can't seem to hit the ground bombing from that plane. Just another day on the job. -

I'm Sorry But...Cat Files
Chutedangle posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Can someone help me? I downloaded the "CatPack.cat here from CA. When it didn't work I found that I should of gotten the latest from Third Wire, which I have done, and run. I added the F-117 to SF2Europe and was hoping to add the squadrons included to the list, which readme says the list must be extracted from the MissionData001.CAT file from the Flight folder. However I just get an error message. Any idea what I am doing wrong or am not doing right? Thanks as always... -

BAE Evaluation?
Chutedangle posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
One of the skins for the EF-2000 is called BAE evaluation. As I'm sure you already know. Can you help a brother out and explain to me just what that means? Thanks... -
BAE Evaluation?
Chutedangle replied to Chutedangle's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
I looked BAE up and there were a ton of explanations. "Battle Area Evaluation" was one. Didn't think that was right. One was a name of some corporation. Thanks for the run down.
