Does anyone have a link to the original English language show this was made from? It looks like they were researching the actual area Richthofen was shot down at, isn't this somewhere between Corbie and Villiers Bretonneux?

Yeah, and he was on his way into town to pick up more Leeks and Vino for the inconsiderate banger demanding guest. -
I've got GMAX, now what?

Hello hairy, Well since Metasequoia loses the mapping when you export as a .dfx, I'm assuming that most of the other 3D programs do the same? I'm actually more concerned about the big gaps in the shapes themselves, as you'll notice in the image that the wheel axle is missing most of it's polys, as also part of the engine's polys are missing too. I'm getting an idea that it would be best to import these as separate pieces and join them up into a group in gmax. The process of mapping could be redone in gmax I suppose. -

Thank you Olham, not my original choice however. Yes, there is a strange back story behind the choice of that color. -
Yes, I think tracer effects are best when they are a bit understated, just the barest whisper of a round's smoke trail and not a full on effect for the actual tracer round's trails.

Thanks Lou, I think R/C Sim.de still has it up in their FMS downloads section, [wince] I know, more 'other' OT sim babble here..[/wince] Yeah I tried to get the 'feel' of riding a bike, you really have to countersteer to make it work correctly. -

I've made a motorscooter for a sim before, it's not easy figuring out how to simulate the physics of riding on two wheels. -

I sort of like 'the beatings will continue until morale improves" kind of solutions. A window into my own sordid-ness. -

I'm noticing a habit of GMAX to drop polies when importing complex multi part models. This is imported as a .dfx, I did triangulate the rectangles before starting the import process, hmmm.. -

Get to the point man! We're going to have to send you off to the Hugh, "Boom" Trenchard school of Public Speaking if this vacillating and vexatious need to pontificate continues. -

You know, I probably shouldn't be discussing the 'other', other sim I develop for with such frequencey in this forum, but there are some similar attributes to these two sims. I suspect the OFF model T has working suspension with scaleable spring rates, damping and breakage? It's one thing I've being trying to fix with mine is the ability to actually drive the wheels from the engine in my models. As it is my T drives like a automatic trannied car in 'limp' mode. -

Well 38 views and not one comment, even a snicker or boastful rejoinder? I've muddled through enough to have made some progress in importing. Apparently there's little documentation about importing other models because on the GMAX forum when a bright eyed enthusiast shows up asking about importing, it seems that hardly anyone tries to help. From the pages and pages I've read about people trying to use GMAX, this seems to be a common situation. And most of the threads are nearly 5 to7 years out of date, and links to whatever scripts, hints and fixes are long since 404'd. Importing is possible but it's a bit convoluted and needs some streamlining. -

Really? I've got ABS brakes, prototypically set up on the back wheels only and I handle downhills with aplomb. -

Sounds like it was a tour mostly on the allied side of the lines, piece of cake really. Not quite the same as doing a Roucourt to Bevilliers to Pronville tour. Don't let on to the CO that you like these. You know, when you return to base, try to look a little hazed and stressed. -

We, who have to commute along the back areas would prefer to have something heavier with four wheels and two machine guns, that doesn't unexpectedly explode. I know this is a tall order.. -

Not to beat the Fighter Squadron-WWI drum too much, but it already has a twin Vickers, 'cept it's mounted on a Thornycroft truck. It shouldn't be much work to import the 3D models over from a Scarff ring or a pintle mount of some two seater in OFF though, and coding the animation and making it as a second operable position? -
My only slight gripe about these two videos is the matching of the 190 h.p. Fokker D7 against the Nieuport 17's isn't really fair or historically accurate. Those Nupes were "easy meat". This is no way a complaint about the vid Hellshade has created, which is fine.. I would have personally liked the front seat view from an FE2b against Fokker EIII's, but then that's just me.
