  4. OMG USS Enterprise CVN-65 by Gabriel Suranyi

19 years...wow! Each aircraft is an individual model hand done; must be the full complement of some 90 odd aircraft! I used to model as a kid but nothin like that, lol.
  5. Wife and I just moved into a new condo and the builders didnt leave us a phone jack in the spare room/office, so I cant do my usual hardwire network in the same room as the computers and which is nearly lag free, espesially with LAN games. I have an netgear WGR614 v6 wireless router that is 802.11g compatable. I can set this up in the front room where there is a phone connection to take advantage of our dsl. This is a 54mb router. My question is, how good of a connection is this type of wireless setup for gaming online? Or via LAN? Will there be much lag?
  6. wireless networking questions...

Hi Fellas, Thanks for the replies; they make sense and I figured as much. Not sure what to do for our situation. To shell out dough for a wireless system, espesially one of the newer ones seems dubious when I prefer the hardwired setup, for security as well as speed. The problem as I mentioned is no phone line in the room to setup easily. Soooo, might have to go wireless anyway....ack! Anyway, my problem. Thanks again for the naswers...
  7. scary landing attempt

The plane trys to straighten for the landing when the wind blows the right wing up, causes the left wingtip to hit the ground, and blows the whole plane to the side of the runway, where no doubt the pilots are applying every bit of throttle they can to get her airborne again...WHOOOOWEEEE!!! No THATS exciting!!! Glad I wasnt on that bird...
  8. What Did You Have For Dinner

:lmaosmiley: Actually Dave, I gotta admit that supper sounds darn good, always like oriental of any sort, Thai is an old favorite. Just havta avoid the cats, monkeys, and eels... My wife and I had a real nice meatloaf with taters, corn, salad, and some home made brownies for desert.
  9. A Long Over Due Medal of Honor

I read his story, then was looking at the pictures when I came across the one of the honor guard holding his medal...it sent a chill down my spine.
  10. M*A*S*H Bloopers

Wife and I watch this show too, an old favorite. Have the first 4 seasons on dvd. Favorite character was always Maj. Winchester; an ass that could show a human side too.

  15. File Name: Improved skin for Koni FFG File Submitter: pcpilot File Submitted: 21 February 2008 File Category: Frigates From the readme... This is the "Improved" skin for the Koni fast frigate model for Strike Fighters made by Capun and Mikewhl. This is a semi-historical skin using some of the common Soviet naval colors and lettering. While its name is correct, its number is fictitious as I have been unable to ascertain with certainty the Soviet number for the Delphin. Ive also added weather deck paint, ships' boats are now painted, the main deck is colored like soviet ships, window glass is added, as are the forward weather break for the gun and the windlasses, and a red waterline added. Credits: -Capun and Mikewhl for an outstanding ship model. Do not distribute or post the ship model without previous consent. 17. Glad to see medals have been added to a pilots' record, YAY! Those cockpits are about the nicest I've seen in any sim. Man, this series is just gettin' better all the time.
  18. Using the WHOLE runway...

WHOA! Think he almost caught some dirt there. If it was a British airfield, thered be a ditch at the end, lol. What is it? Russian?
  19. MIG-29 OVT

LOL, hey Kukulino, love that screenie of the radar scope with all the targets; which is friend? Yup, Ive knocked down a few friendlies, lol. Glad its only a game or Id be spending my days in solitary at leavenworth... :warning2:
  20. I was perusing the Russian Navy website here looking for ship pics and they had this cool video of carrier ops... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9J05XhJ-N_U Always interesting too to get the Russian spin on news. Uniforms and politics aside, it always is interesting to realize how much our peoples seem to be alike; thier website carries much the same info the US Navy site does, personnel, ship transits and deployments, etc., etc.
  21. Cool Russian Navy video

Very cool Fates, I didnt realize that, lol. Nice feature. I liked that video. Interesting to see how far the Russians have come in their ops. I'd love to see more about basic deck ops. I wonder how squared away they are there eh? Edit: I see from the vids they've made some serious advances in deck ops! I didnt know they had navalized versions of frogfoots! Looked that one had a gear failure. Yeah, wierd enough pighunta, I kinda liked the music myself also. Kewl vids Badfrank and viggen...
  22. Finally!

Cool pics cargo! Saved one as a desktop pic.
  23. Bad Stuff

Most unfortunate... Back in the 70's we used to have the drag strip to run at on saturday afternoons, but most un-employed teens couldnt afford the $5 entry fee. But after seeing the movie American Graffiti, everyone in my crowd naturally had to go cruising. That of course led to street drags on occassion. Mostly they were imprompto with few or no bystanders; just someone revving at a stoplight, it turns green, and away you go. It would end when one car pulled in front of the other generally or you came up on the next signal light. In retrospect, I think we were fortunate no to get into any accidents. A seventeen year old behind the wheel of a '66 malibu with a 327...thats a lot of horse-power in a heavy all metal car. To my knowledge, street drags have always been around and have always been a part of the culture of the car and growing up. You combine fast cars, teens with egos, and no brains to picture consequences, and tragedy is only a matter of time.
  24. Sorry Im late, hehe. 1. High resolution graphics, terrain and effects 2. Detailed carrier ops 3. Seat-switching in multi-seat aircraft 4. High moddability (like SF series) 5. Dynamic campaign (less story-driven) 6. Detailed comms and ATC 7. Detailed cockpit procedures (switchology) 8. Story-driven campaign (less dynamic) 9. Good performance on older systems I would like to add a Mission Editor is one of the things I personally would love most. I build missions as much as I fly them. Id put a good straight-forward mission editor around number 2. Give us some tools fer cryin out loud...;0)
  25. I always thought a Taiwan/US/China crisis/confrontation scenario would be interesting as a hypothetical, as well as perhaps a banana war in South America. Though the banana one wouldnt cover too well, I think, what the polls said we wanted. The China/US scenario could happen at any point so different aircraft from different periods from the 50's all the way to present would allow for a certain flexability, starting of course with the F-4 and the 60's. Being that its moddable, later additional periods in the conflict or additional scenarios like Iraq/Iran/Israel or coldwar Europe gone hot would be easy to implement. SPF1 bears that idea out I think. I think Ironroad has a point as to preferences. We all like real world scenarios of course. But "what ifs" have always had a deep fascination too.
