  9. Well, this is what I say in the article: "Note that the CarrierType must remain CVA-63, but the CarrierNumber and UnitName can be changed to whatever you want, so you could use the CVA-63 model to represent any Kitty Hawk class carrier." This is because you are using the CVA-63 model, but you are free to change the Number and Name to reflect whatever Kitty Hawk Class you want to represent.
  10. That article I wrote is a bit old now, and ground objects are handled a little differently since SP4. Glad you got it working.
  11. Run the exe and, when asked, point it to the WOE installation that you want to update. You should install NF and NF2 over a clean WOE installation.
  12. Under the [AIData] section of the aircraft's data INI, add the following line: MaxPitchForAltitude=30.0 30 degrees is the default, so you'll probably want to drop it to 20 or so and test. You can adjust this parameter in conjunction with "ClimbSpeed=" in the [FlightControl] section until you get the results you are looking for. Remember to use meters per second whenever you set a speed in the data INI.
  13. Those who are so inclined can get the NATO Fighters Environment Update here: http://www.column5.us/campaigns.shtml Install it over your existing NF1 or NF2 installation. Thanks to Polak and Deuces for their work. In addition to the new sky tiles and clouds, the 0 aircraft bug affecting some squadrons in 1962 and 1968 should be fixed (finally). The main NF2 download has also been updated with the campaign fix, but not the environment update.
  14. NATO Fighters II is ready for download! You can find more information as well as the download link here: http://www.column5.us/natof2.shtml I'd like to take the opportunity to again list those who contributed to this pack: - Armourdave - Boopidoo - BPAo - column5 - Fracture - JSF_Aggie - Kesselbrut - Kreelin - Missionneur Team - MontyCZ - MoonJumper - Pasko - Phamtuan - Raphael - Saguanay - Sony Tuckson - Sundowner - The Mirage Factory - The Wrench - ThirdWire - USAFMTL If I forgot anyone, it was not intentional. Let me know and I'll update the credits ASAP. Oh, and if you are wondering what the "surprise" from the Mirage Factory is... The F-16A Fighting Falcon Block 1, with skins for the BAF, RNLAF and USAF. Model and cockpit by BPAO based on an original by LvP, skins by Sony Tuckson, screens by Camouflage, HUD by MoonJumper and flight model by Kreelin. Its an exceptional piece of work!
  15. Due to the strong response to NATO Fighters, I am proceeding with further expansion packs. Next up will be NATO Fighters II, which will further round out the available planset in Wings Over Europe, and add some additional ground objects. Included in this pack will be... Ground Objects -------------- SA-3 Goa SA-9 Gaskin M1A1 Abrams Tank Aircraft -------- CF-5A Freedom Fighter Jaguar GR.1 MiG-23ML (Adversary) OV-10A (FAC Only) Su-15A (Adversary) Tornado GR.1A Yak-25M (Adversary) Yak-28B (Adversary) And perhaps a surprise? Stay tuned... The pack will also address a small bug in NATO Fighters. As usual, all new aircraft and objects will be fully integrated with the campaigns, and installation will be simple, requiring no modding or file editing. Coming soon!

  17. Yes, I'll get the updated order of battle posted today.
  18. Hmmm...not a bad idea to include instructions on how to do it. I'll have to consider that--the only problem is that I've specifically tailored the aircraft included in the pack to the weapons included in the pack. Some weapons and/or loadouts will no doubt be affected. I suppose it shouldn't be a big deal if a person doesn't mid doing a little tweaking to make things work.

  21. That request I cannot fulfill. These are designed to be stand alone packs not requiring any additional modding. The weapons pack is too large to include, and includes far too many weapons that are irrelevant to the setting.
  22. The desire for Swedish and Norwegan squadrons is duly noted. ;) I'll see what I can do about adding some in an upcoming pack. Here are the final release notes for NF2. It will be released after a final QA check. NATO Fighters II ---------------- IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS You MUST follow these steps to properly install NATO Fighers II. 1. 23. The lines can definately shift. Something unusual must have been going on in that particular campaign.
  24. COMING SOON! I am happy to announce the first in a series of new expansion packs for Wings Over Europe. NATO Fighters leverages many individual mods released over the last four years to significantly enhance the WOE experience. The most obvious omission in WOE is the lack of the ubiquitous F-104G Starfighter employed throughout the 1960s and 70s by many NATO air forces. WOE:NF adds this important aircraft and updates the 1968 and 1979 campaigns to include several flyable NATO squadrons. In addition, the pack adds the outstanding Lightning F.6, the Belgian Mirage 5BA, and other aircraft, all fully integrated into the campaigns. Finally, a number of visual enhancements breathe additional life into the environment. I must stess that all of the mods included in this pack are already available. This series of expansions simply brings them all together in one place, fully integrates them into the campaigns and makes installation a snap. The goal is not to include every NATO squadron, but a representitive selection of units to allow players to fly for nations other than the US, Great Britain and West Germany. Here is a list of expected features: New Aircraft: F-84F Thunderstreak F-104G Starfigther Lightning F6 Mirage 5BA Su-15TM Flagon Su-17M Fitter Campaign Updates: 1968 - Added Belgian No. 2 Squadron in F-84F - Added Belgian No. 350 Squadron in F-104G - Added Danish Esk 723 in F-104G - Added RAF No. 11 Squadron in Lightning F6 - Added RNLAF 311 and 322 Squadrons in F-104G - Added West German JG31 and JG74 in F-104G 1979 - Added Belgian No. 1 Squadron in Mirage 5BA - Added Belgian No. 350 Squadron in F-104G - Added Canadian No. 421 Squadron in F-104G - Added Danish Esk 723 in F-104G - Added RAF No. 11 Squadron in Lightning F6 - Added RNLAF 311 and 322 Squadrons in F-104G - Added two Soviet SU-15TM units as adversaries - Added two Soviet SU-17M units as adversaries The pack also includes Deuces' Effects Pack 3 and enhanced WOE terrain, JSF_Aggie's high-resolution airbases and a custom weapons selection for the add-on planes. This pack is in final testing and should be ready in 2 to 3 weeks! Additional packs will follow, each focusing on a specific theme such as adding the French AdA, and naval operations.
