No problem here. Good luck with you pack! -
So I've been flying the MiG-29C...

Wow with a compliment like that I guess I should try and say something intelligent. EDIT: I just noticed where Gepard told you essentially the same thing I am about to, only with less long-winded explanation. So this is just an expansion on what he said. If you want to tweak on the aircraft's max speed and acceleration without getting too involved in the coefficients (most of which are beyond me anyway, you need Streakeagle for an education on that) you can look at the following section, starting with the Fuselage component: CD0MachTableNumData=5 CD0MachTableDeltaX=0.40 CD0MachTableStartX=0.00 CD0MachTableData=1.195,1.000,1.008,1.792,1.767 Basically, this is a table of data that modifies the CD0 value (CD0 being drag coefficient at 0 alpha). The first line defines the number of data points in the table. The second line defines the "distance" in Mach between each data point. The third line tells the game that the table starts at Mach 0. The fourth line contains the data. So, let's say that the CD0 for the fuselage was 0.01 (just for example, to make this easy, that is actually a fairly high value for CD0). At Mach 0.00, the CD0 would be 0.01 x 1.195 = 0.01195 At Mach 0.40, the CD0 would be 0.01 x 1.000 = 0.01000 At Mach 0.80, the CD0 would be 0.01 x 1.008 = 0.01008 At Mach 1.20, the CD0 would be 0.01 x 1.792 = 0.01792 At Mach 1.20, the CD0 would be 0.01 x 1.767 = 0.01767 So, you can see how between Mach 0.80 and 1.20, this airplane runs into a "brick wall" of drag, with the CD0 increasing over 70%. Its a safe bet that this airplane would normally be subsonic, and might break Mach 1 in a dive. What you can do is change the values in the table, and even add more data points to get finer control over the drag at various speeds. For example, if you wanted this aircraft to have better acceleration between Mach 0.4 and 0.8, you could reduce the third value in the table. Likewise, if you wanted to extend the top speed to Mach 1.2, you could reduce the fourth value in the table. Make changes in small (5 or 10%) increments and then test. Several of the components that make up the plane will have CD0 tables like this, but if you just want to make a quick and dirty modification, you can play only with the table for the fuselage. Also, there are other ways to accomplish the task, such as playing with the engine altitude tables, but this will give you decent results and as mentioned is quick and easy. -
MF's F-8E USMC Pack

If I am not mistaken it is the same 300-gallon Aero Products tank used by the A-4, A-6, A-7 and a lot of other Navy planes. -

Like USAFMTL said, no problem! Good looking skin. -
Intense last-ditch kill
column5 replied to Rambler 1-1's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
The problem is that the wing mesh serves as both the wing (obviously) and as a highlift device (simulating the variable incidence feature). These are separate subsystems, and if the VI component gets damaged, the mesh will be blown off but the plane will still fly because the game doesn't think the wing itself was damaged. Clear as mud? I'll look into alternative setups for our 1.1 updates which will also fix the sidewinder pylons and some skin errors. -

Not to g*ddamn Intarnet pirates like you and your ilk. Hot linking images is what blew up the levees in New Orleans. Its a crime perpetrated against all mankind by BLT-eating people like you. -
Can my title be changed to "Community Bully" or "Antagonizer of Personal Computer Aviator(s)"?

The AK code was probably never used in a Vietnam deployment since it is an Atlantic code. But, its appropriate for the particular variation in markings represented by the skin. VF-111 markings changed a lot over time so for practically every tailcode they wore, they wore different squadron markings. I think the ones represented by this skin are the most impressive, and that is why they were chosen. -

We were very fortunate to have Pedro Alvim's help. He provided us with the original aircraft and cockpit models so that Oli could work his magic. So, thanks a bunch Pedro! -

Yeah is it Big Al 1 or Bi Gal 1? Big difference there. :blush2: -
As for the Terminator that came through, it was implied if not directly shown that the one that had its head blown off made it through the portal and somehow wound up in a junkyard. At least, that's what I took out of it.

SPOILERS I'm not someone who thinks that shows and movies have to stick strictly to canon, but am I the only one annoyed by the fact that the time-displacement equipment, which it has been pretty well explained can only transport living material, can now transport a Terminator chasis with no skin wrapped around it. I mean...its integral to the show/movie's backstory and the writers could easily work around it...so why ignore it? Other than that...not bad...

Thanks for all of the info! As usual with this game, we will try to mock up a convincing simulation even though the game's limitations prevent us from getting it perfect. ;) -

So, some additonal questions... 1. It appears that the inner control surfaces act as flaps. Is the flap system automatically controlled or manual? I'm going to assume automatic (for now) on an aircraft this advanced. 2. Do the wing inner control surfaces also contribute to pitch (elevator) and roll (aileron) control? 3. Do the canards operate at such extreme deflection only when the aircraft is on the ground? Seems unlikely that they would move that far in the air. -

Brain32, those pictures will be quite helpful. Thanks. -

That is a key question: are the wing surfaces flaperons or elevons? Are the canards responsible for all pitch control? -

SPOILERS It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I'm not sure that the actress playing Sarah Connor is going to be able to pull off the bad-ass like Linda Hamilton did in T2, and I'm sorry to see that John Connor is still as annoying a character as in T2. So, questions. Now we have a set of time-displacement equipment, an advanced weapon, and a bunch of Terminator parts scattered in a bank Vault in LA in 1999. Are they going to resolve that somehow? Because, you know...ah screw it time-travel stories always suck if your over-analyze them. Maybe they will come up with a creative way to get rid of that stuff tonight.

F-104 flight model
column5 replied to mppd's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I've always felt like the stock F-104 FM was off somehow. Doesn't seem to have that missile-like performance.
