  1. Hello Dave, I didn't notice the file was already gone. I installed the update for the F-14A gloves the day it was released and it seemed to work okay then, but I only looked at the plane from an external view when flying at high speeds and thus the gear was (automaticly) up by then. Just last night I was tired of editing things in my terrain data files and decided for a flight at Nellis with an F-14A and noticed this mess. I forgot about the gloves update with the F-14A's and thought it had something to do with SF2NA. When I was in bed I suddenly realised that it could be the gloves ini update. When home today I checked and yes that was the culprit. I love to edit and install mods for this sim, but lately I've been more busy tracing and tracking down errors than I do flying. It's frustrating and just wanted to know if anybody else had thesame problem. It's solved now, I know how the edit the data files, just wanted to share incase someone else had thesame problem. that's all. My best regards, Kodiak.
  2. Oh well, lets just remove this forum then! It's everybody's fault, but definatly not the game itself! If the game is so great, then why is everybody modding it and trying to make it better? Because it is a half finnished piece of software, it always was. My best regards, Kodiak.
  3. SOLVED! I found what causes this! Remember some time ago someone uploaded files to make the gloves come out at a certain speed for the F-14A's. Well that fix had thesame animation ID as the gear (AnimationID=1) And I updated my F-14A's with that! And the gloves having thesame animation ID as the gear, well it conflicted with this as a result! Pff, it was a quick fix, Thank God! Sorry for maybe appearing so angry in this first post but I was very tired at night and had suddenly that problem while fixing my Taiwan terrain. Btw, I was also one of the first here with the CD version of Strike Fighters Project 1 back then, I know what problems there were! Maybe my fuse has become a little shorter since then, lol Now excuse me, I have a lot of things to do in my terrain folder! My best regards, Kodiak.
  4. And the Iranian F-14A also has thesame problem! As you can see the nosegear just disappears and the rest goes in at a certain speed! What the he...
  5. Okay, it flies now, still a bit crappy, but better than stock!!! For one reason or another it works with the SU-7 cockpit but does NOT wanna load into mission with whatever Harrier cockpit I give it! And I have no clue for why not! But atleast it works with the SU-7 cockpit. Thanks. My best regards, Kodiak.
  6. Hey Murphy, are you Murphy from Murphy's LAW???? Stay away from our sim, you will ruin our gaem!!! Like you can see I'm slowly losing my marbles also from this problem avalanche!!
  7. Check if in the Airplane's data file it says: SpecificStationCode=AA12 OR SpecificStationCode=AA10 and in the missile's data file also: SpecificStationCode=AA12 OR SpecificStationCode=AA10 Depends what missile it needs. It has to be in the airplane and missile data file thesame. It could be that one of the two data files does not have this entry. You can delete the entries or add them, but make sure BOTH airplane and missile have thesame SpecificStationCode= I hope this clear enough. My best regards, Kodiak.
  8. Hey, that is a great map!!! Where can I download that one?? I would love to have that one!!! My best regards, Kodiak.
  9. LOL, you have some way with words making that clear! But serious, that was what I already expected! Good work!! Gonna remove the ships out of my target types.ini and see what it gives. My best regards, Kodiak.
  10. Nope, does not wanna load with this data file! Only works if I disable the liftengines, then my Yak-38 will fly, otherwise it CTD's at 100% loading. Think I'll have to leave it like it is for now! Excuse me now gentlemen while I go checkin' in at the nuthouse! Kodiak.
  11. To be honest I regret buying SF2NA with all the trouble I have now getting my third party terrains to work properly! It really is an unfinnished product, even some planes (Yak-38) are not compleet! Since I have SF2NA I did more tracing errors and looking solutions for problems that SF2NA brought! It is the worst title of the series! If I knew this before, then I happily kept flying around in my F-14's made by TMF, even those models are better looking then the SF2NA ones. Sorry but I almost had it with SF2NA. It brings me closer to a nerveous breackdown every minute! If there isn't quickly a GOOD patch that solves problems and completes some features I will go to back to Lockon Flaming Cliffs. My best regards, Kodiak.
  12. Keep up the good work! I am almost nuts and cross eyed from searching!!! My best regards, Kodiak.
  13. Uhm, I tried this but it crashes my Yak-38 back to desktop. Are you sure this is all you changed? I put your data in my data file but doesn't work. If I remove the liftengines the Yak works but no liftengines ofcourse! Just copy and paste you WHOLE yak-38_data.ini here if you will. Slowly starting to get enough of this game and thinking to go back to Lockon Flaming Cliffs. My best regards Kodiak.
  14. Same here, problems started with the April patch. But if not the ships then I think something else in the groundobject folder. If you rename your groundobject folder to BACKUPgroundobject and then start the game I bet it runs OK. Then rename it back to groundobject and the trouble starts again. So... My best regards, Kodiak.
  15. I use the default formations.ini file and my nations.ini is only edited by adding AGRS and RANGE as nations for the bombing range. I doubt this is the problem now. But every input is welcome. My best regards, Kodiak.
  16. Will give it a try. I'll report back later with the result. My best regards, Kodiak. PS, if anybody knows a good debugger for games, let me know. I normally use OllyDBG, but that one hangs when using together with SF2
  17. Lets just hope that the *.CAT files are unlock again any time soon! Kodiak.
  18. A big thanks! Now let's hope the game wants to run or hang at 80% My best regards, Kodiak.
  19. If you install the game in Windows7 and have a DX10 capable graphic card doesn't the game use DX10 automaticly then? Is your video card DX10 compatible? (sorry, I don't know much about AMD cards) My best regards, Kodiak.
  20. It is definatly a problem with something in the GroundObject folder! If I move that folder out of my install then the game runs perfectly! If I move the GoundObject folder back in my install it hangs at 80% in most of the third party terrains! I try to track down the problem but that is a sloooooooow work, I have many groundobjects! If only the SF2*.exe files had some sort of LOG parameter! Logging the exe file can solve the problem. In the racegame GTR2 there is a -trace parameter and it shows you all problems in a logfile if the game hangs or CTD. Wish SF2NA.exe or the other exe files for the merged installs also had some parameter like that! My best regards, Kodiak.
  21. I use a Harrier pit for the Yak-38, the plane has no radar so that works nicely. My best regards, Kodiak.
  22. Anybody knows a good program to trace program crashes or CTD's? I have a lot of crashes to desktop since I have SF2NA installed and was wondering if anybody knows a good program monitoring tool, so I can trace the cause of the crash?? Many years ago I had a program like that but I really don't remember anymore what was the name and I doubt it would still work in windows 7. Anybody can help? Thanks in advance. My best regards, Kodiak.
  23. That's why I've been looking for a crash tracer!!! So I could take a look where the crash happens! I had a program back in the days of Jane's F-15 for that and it work perfectly, it told me where the *.exe crashed with whatever it was doing or trying to open! That program doesn't work anymore with my Windows 7, pitty :( Anybody knows of a crash tracer program and I'll be able to find out the crash trouble. My best regards, Kodiak.
  24. Nobody? It could help with a lot of problems if I can trace the crashes back to their origin!!! My best regards, Kodiak.
