how do u extract data from .cat files? i use catpack and drag the .cat into it but gives me error - file is not a proper cat-file... I wanna reduce the size of my left and right corner information of my plane and my target selected... i dont like it so big and bulky..

How is the CH fighterstick and combat stick how do they compare in comparison...... I am having serious issues with my Cougar Stock its virtually impossible to do any precision flying and gunning.. I would love to get the WARTHOG but they dont have it here and i dont wanna get it from overseas shipping due to bad experiences.. I read that ppl are loving their CH products they're durable and strong and last for years even though their plastic. but how is the deadzone and precision aswell as center play any good any1 have anything bad to say about them? how is the Pro Throttle? I wanna use these products for Lockon, Strike Fighters and JET THUNDER when it comes out. I cant handle the Stock Cougar anymore and i wanna get something else. I want the WARTHOG or CH Products.. I need precision tools.... An how difficult is it to create Mapped Profiles for CH or mapping buttons for SF2 or Lockon or Black Shark?

aaahhhh crap i went to the computer to look at webcams ones that were recommended... and i checked the hardware store for the tool... its abit pricey it only saves me a few bucks from buying TrackIR 5 for $200 plus shipping from a site even though i am skeptical still looking around. thanks for the info :)

Is people still using it? I remember back in the late 90's and early 2000's it was a must have app for online gaming to keep in touch with the squad and other gamer pilots.. do ppl still use it as their base contact platform or do ppl use something else? or rather use ventrillo to communicate?

aahh nice... of course facebook haha... i still like icq and i like keeping it active while i am in game as i know some1 has come online or initiated a chat its a great lil instant messager.. I never use facebook chat dont like being bomb with many different ppl trying to hold a 20 way conversation lol can be abit much. Icq is much better i now i feel its more stable and now u dont have to remember ur sodding number to log in just provide an email address its perfect!

I found a South African on SimHQ forums who bought the HOTAS Warthog from simw.com and said that they are fast and reliable! I would love to buy my CH Stick, Throttle and TrackIR5 Pro for $497 including shipping fees then buy it in South Africa for $750.... I hate to do it but i am willing to risk considering this other guy didnt have an issue.. Can any1 else vouch for this website? who has used them outside of Europe? apologies dont mean to advertise... and double post the time duration for me to edit had expired....

Awesome thanks guys will get the regular TrackIR then i see u have to wear a cap in order to use the Black Track Clip and the Pro u dont need to just clip to ur head phones.... silly honestly but hey. I dont mind the Saitek X52 Pro an the Logitech G940 is damn expensive here i might aswell go and get the Warthog for that price seeming i dont need pedals as i already have CH Pedals.. So it was between CH or Saitek but speaking to a Saitek distributor and CH distributor i found the service with CH incredibly more helpful, the guy was literally going out of his way to make sure i was satisfied with all the needed info and service eg..... when he mentioned he didnt have the Fighterstick and Pro Throttle only the Combatstick so he gave me with full contact details to a full on aviation store relating to simulated and real aviation products, an then another store just for pc ware. Then he informed me to contact him if non of these places have the CH Products to place an order for a combat stick and then he will contact the US to get the throttle and will mail me all my products at literally a tiny fee. I was like woah! now thats service lolz!! I also prefer the CH products over saitek for 2 reasons. 1: the stick and throttle is pretty much identical to my HOTAS Cougar and i really love the design in my hands also that it reflects the design of an F22 and F16 Flightstick. 2: i read a ton of forums and posts in recent hours that CH is alot more reliable and life span on them are much better then the Saitek controller. UPS in South Africa is abit risky I would avoid using them and DHL service is shocking if they try and deliver the package and no1 is home they leave and dont contact u what so ever. when i was getting my passport renewed due to an emergency and i had to use DHL they didnt bother to contact me, with the fact that there was no1 to collect it they sent it back to the British embassy which was in a different state having me miss out what i needed the passport for traveling and still charge me for the courier service here and BACK!!! to the embassy!!!! instead of phoning me and leaving at HQ in my state before they thought it was a good idea to send it back. the regular postal service is shocking i have lost hundreds of $ because of someones sticky fingers soon as the package reached SA. the only reliable courier is POSTNET but they arent affiliated with overseas deliveries..

Pardon for the double posting... I did a complete reinstallation and started adding mods one after the other. the game ran perfect after the clean installing and update. i then added the ATI HDR Mod 1.03 and changed to ForceDX9=TRUE, it was tickets for me the game crashed again soon as i went into any mission type.. So i removed the ATI HDR Mod and went back into the game and the game started running at 15FPS i was stumped! So going into the ini file and change ForceDX9=FALSE the game started running perfect again.. with all the other mods which is strange but just incase some1 runs into a this problem they will know whats the factor.. for those running HD DX11 cards..

Hmmmm my game doesnt even work after the udpate... i get into a the menu fine soon as i load up any mission or instant action game turns black screen and a windows error says close program..

I downloaded the latest ATI drivers 11.6 and some how its forcing Jet Fighters 2 to run in D3D10 (DX10) where as before my game used to run in D3D9. as u can see in my screen grab there in the tob corner.. Please dont be mislead by the 60FPS in D3D10 it feels as if my game is running at 10FPS ingame... In the menu i am doing D3D9 and getting the perfect 120FPS which is accurate. as if the D3D10 is misleading the game i dont know. I tried other games and I dont have this issue with any them and they all run in D3D9... This is the first time i have seen D3D10 and of course its my favorite game of all games this problem would appear the game i play and love most. typical murphy's law. I tried setting things in my ATI Catalyst i forced everything to manual or in application control still no change. I have undated DirectX and installed some old DirectX massive to add in files that werent there from what i read in the ATI forums. Any ideas? i am downloading 11.4 Drivers to double check cause apparently there is issues with 11.5 its such a pity though i have noticed some graphic glitches fixed with these new drivers. eg i can zoom out of my plane external view the furthest possible and shadows wont disappear or my 2 fuel tanks 1 tends to disappear when i am at its furthest zoom but not anymore. I noticed some flashing graphic issues in a couple of other games have disappeared because of these new drivers but not affected my performance in them except SF2. I am lost and confused......... I am based in South Africa..... The issue is not shippers from overseas its the couriers and mail service here in this country. They pick off ppls packages like xmas presents on xmas day even though their name isnt written FOR: or TO: .... I managed to find a couple of places where I live but they are incredibly expensive.. TrackIR 4 Pro and TrackIR 5 in the states at naturalpoint.com is $100 and $150. Here in my country is TrackIR 5 $285!!!!!!!!!!! to $315!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I am really lost cause the consultant said which version am I looking for the standard or Pro? whats the difference I am looking at naturalpoint.com and I see it comes with a Black Track Clip and a Black Track Clip Pro with LED Lights. But the TrackIR5 Pro Bundle costs $400!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How necessary is to have the Track Clip Pro with LED's? and just use a standard Black Track Clip. Can some1 enlighten before i make such an expensive purchase I dont wanna regret the slashing the cash. Also whats the difference between the CH Fighterstick and CH Combatstick besides more buttons cause there is no Fightersticks available here in South Africa... are the 2 CH Sticks equally precise or is the Fighterstick slightly more accurate? pls help!

Awesome thanks for the reply guys so i take CH is the way to go if i was a doctor and needed precision tools to improve my craft CH is the way to do it.... I want TrackIR!!!!!!!! so badly I dont like using my HATS as a view instrument there are much better things i can do with my HATS... Only issue is I cant get TrackIR anywhere in my country :/ and I am hugely skeptical ordering anything online that requires shipping... As they never reached my doorstep or mailbox. I am trying to make inquiries as to where I can get it where I based....

yeah i been reading that there is some serious issues with 11.5 and 11.6 :boredom:alot of ppl with the 5xxx and 6xxx series are struggling with it.

Ok nvm ATI Drivers 11.4 fixed everything including my graphic glitches and improved my fps... 11.5 and 11.6 is a no go. apologies for wasting ur time my fellow pilots..

Will Third Wire be making Strike Fighters 3 in the near distant future? Possibly with multiplayer capabilities? In love with Strike Fighters 2 just wish there was human competition and interaction.... also coop play.. HEAVEN!!

Woah NICE!!!!! F14 Tomcat!!! Striker Fighters 3 is already a done deal for me hahaha SOLD!!!! If there can be a multiplayer mod or version in the future for the game that would be amazing!!!!!! I know if this is true I can get the word out with the previous squads i use to fly with in the 90's and early 2000's. And I am pretty confident that this will be a massive selling point cause Strike Fighters is a lite sim and not as diverse as Lock On, an thats been a problem for alot of gamers... Majority of them feel to intimidate to learn it or play it, they feel it requires far too much time and concentration instead of just wanting to fly and blow s**t up. If there is a mod version for multiplayer I would be forever smiling Will Strike Fighters 3 have an ingame data recorder so it records all activity with a mission and once the mission is over. the mission debriefing u are able to save the replay and be later to watch the replay to see how it all went down from any perspective on the map. (eg warcraft 3 had the ability to save a replay in data form small file only a few kb sized and watch ur replay in game to watch awesome reruns of ur strategy or other players game style). Would be incredibly awesome for creating tutorials and make youtube videos.. Not to mention seeing how SEXAH!!! ur plane is in external view from all angles doing dog fights, Harrier Hovers and V/STOL and A-10 Warthog Bomb runs... This would be an incredible feature..

How do u trim in strike fighters i dont see the key commands for it or in the manual.......... I downloaded a Cougar Joystick profile where i can trim up and down for SF1, but i wanna make my own profile using TARGET for SF2.... The profile is nice but half the things on it doesnt interest my playing preference and the trimming in the SF1 Cougar profile works. So how on earth do u trim.. PS i am crap at FOXY no idea how to use it........ honestly it freaks me out lol..

Hi new to the scene... If any1 has experience in this matter, I have a Cougar Thrustmaster brand new and when I play lock on the damn configuration never works sometimes it doesnt even pick up my throttle and when it does the throttle doesnt work and a few buttons on the yoke.. My Cougar works well with Strike Fighters cause i can customize each button to my licking within the game. i even use profiles from what ppl are using for the Cougar in lock on.. somehow i just feel as if the game doesnt pick up the HOTAS... i have foxy running, i turn off foxy to try it as well and nothing... also using Foxy is abit to complex for me i dont understand it to well... Now that T.A.R.G.E.T. has come out with and supports the COUGAR, has the COUGAR been imrpoved with this application considering its new software for Windows 7? Has T.A.R.G.E.T. improved the COUGAR in any form of way? i am unable to tell as i am not in my Home State where my pc and Cougar is. I am on the verge of getting a Saitek x52 pro to just end all my problems that i am having with the COUGAR and its software. but would like to know before i buy it, is the COUGAR been resolved or fixed for newer machines with Thrusmasters new software?

There is a store in my country thats selling them and they have some stock..... sadly its only a stock cougar, cause i am in another country i am struggling to get the modds i even went to try and register at a forum where the guy supplies them his name is IJ, but the site wont let me register which is a pain... An besides the mod is quite expensive for that price i rather go and buy the WARTHOG instead.... So i am modding it myself i took out the Torsion Springs off to go buy some Tension Springs drill holes into the base plates of the "Gimbles" and see if it improves my smoothness... I played Jet Fighter yesterday with my Cougar without the Torsion springs and of course the Stick doesnt spring back to center point as of course it just falls to which ever side gravity takes it. So i held it dead center when calibrating played Jet Fighter man i have never seen such smoothness.. My guns were unbelievable i shot down all enemy bandits with just guns alone and from 0.6nm to 1.0nm out cause i was able to precisely aim... I just need the Tension springs to hold the stick center point i dont need to BOING! back to center point...
