Thanks. Glad you like it! The energy circle was inevitable as i was trying to figure out my my advantages and disadvantages. As it turns out i find that energy circles are a good way to measure your planes performance against the enemy. :P never got the chance to try Falcon. Aside from Ace combat this is the only game i played where i can fly jets. :) -

2nd fight. The thing i like about the Euro Fighter is that its quite easy to acclimate oneself into it. Its very predictable and forgiving that you can try to experiment with the plane just after 7 mins of flying it! I pretty much have figured out a way to fly the plane in my own terms. Probably not the way it should be flown but i figured i can win with just my way. EF-2000 VS Su-27SKM I let the Flanker get round behind me to see what the typhoon can really do. As soon as i saw his tracers i made my move. i rolled my plane in a dive and let the lift generated to allow the plane to pull its nose up to complete a Split S. Bandit is right behind. I wanted the flanker to lose his energy in the vertical but pulling up now will ensure a 30mm Shell on my tail so i decided to roll and dive once more but this time instead off leveling my plane i continued the pull up into the vertical. With my plane straight up i punched the airbrakes and pulled tighter. The Flanker tried to follow but lost all his energy and was forced to level out to recover. ( Choosing the external view in my mind was the right decision as the move looks so damn cool... at least to me it is :P ) I rolled my Typhoon right side up to extend a bit and reengage. I was able to get my nose round for what supposed to be a perfect position to end the fight but again my gunnery failed me. Ended up in a turning fight with the flanker flying nose low and my euro fighter going up and down. In the end i was able to dive down inside his turn and after two short burst that missed the third one is just too damn close to miss. Takeaways: I have to re check my info on Delta's as the euro fighter really comes alive below 300 Kias. There's a wonderful feeling on pulling off stunts! need to learn some proper moves! -

Interesting post Robert. One thing i can tell you is that the mobile version of SF is better than warthunder. :P the only reason i still play that game is because of the F-6F and the multiplayer aspect of it. As for my promise. Here it is. EF-2000 Typhoon VS Su-27SKM Clean Configuration Guns Only I choose the typhoon because it's been the constant bandit when i was trying to fix the flankers cockpit on my install. (so far ive only managed to get the Su-33 to work properly). During the fights. I've noticed that the Euro Fighter tends to go much slower. Now as far as i know and i could be well mistaken. Delta planes despite having great alpha and initial turn it doesn't really sustain turns quite well and is better kept at higher speed.... First fight we spawned 3nm off right of our nose. The AI turns before i could set my throttle. But the instantenous turning ability of the eurofighter placed me behind his 3/9 line. By bleeding off my nergy i could easily pull lead on the Flanker but this only gives me a minimal window of opportunity which is too small for a lock. The answer would be to eyeball my firing solution but you all know how good i am with that. I tried then to build energy and fight in the regions above 300KIAS but it seems that the flanker can sustain his turn better at speeds above 350KIAS than i am. Getttng bored with the endless turning i decided to change the flow of the fight and weent vertical. A couple of headon passes with a hairy moment where i was being met by tracers i was able to get in to a postion of advantage as we get on the dive. I was able to roll my plane right behidn the flanker when he decided to reverse his turn to make me overshoot. Bad move! As i was under 0.1nm from his tail i have i have a clear view of his side profile. Trigger down and the shells hit right down the middle igniting the fuel tank. Fight lasted about 7 1/2 mins. -

Was supposed to Upload 2 vids today but reading the DACTs just made me forgot what i was supposed to do. Really nice reports. I especially like Do335 report. it was very informative and gave me new understanding of the vertical. Felt like i was in top gun school listening to an instructor give his lesson. Much enjoyed and much appreciated. Will post my report tomorrow once i got it in youtube. Decided to try out an english fighter. :) -

Yeah. There were just a couple of instances when Friendly and bandit was ontop of each other and i wasn't able to discern properly betwen the C and the < and ended up locking the C :P But the weirdest friendly kill i had was when my Phoenix exploded off behind an Su-27 and took out a chasing Mirage 3. Fired at near max range of 70nm from 35Kft bandit at around 10. F9 view to watch the hit. Su-27 turned away from my missile and extended. I still felt that its gonna be a good kill as the missile animation was alive, but the phoenix started tumbling and exploded behind it and in front of the Mirage. -

That's one of the great thing about the tomcat. I was campaigning earlier and was tasked to do recon. the escorts flying ahead ran into trouble with the enemy aces. My flight ended up rescuing the escorts from being decimated using The AIM-54 to break them up, Huge fuel load to close in supersonic. AIM-7 to eliminate early treats and the winders and guns for sweeping off the rest. Although you have to be careful using the phoenix when there's friendlies around chances of friendly fire is high. -

Sad but true. To be honest the Country doesn't need F-14's or F-15's. It mostly needs mud movers and Helo's for peace keeping and ok. Maybe it'll be great if we have a tomcat for interception. But small cheap brand new agile fighters should be enough for home defense. Since we got off topic i'm going to try and make amends with this. I really love this plane. I like how it responds to my inputs and the sound of those canons are just lovely. I remember i had a mod where i separated the guns into two groups for ammo preservation and maximum lethality mode. :) F-8C 2x AIM-9H , guns, VS 2 Mig-21bis 4X Atolls i believe., When i checked the log book it seems that the first mig shot down was able to a couple of missiles aside from guns. I made a lot of mistakes and failed to capitalize on a few good positions early on. I also let a lot off opportunity for a heater shot go by sticking to guns. But among my recent game play this by far was the most fun i ever had. -

Philippines. Local gov doesn't care much nor does it has the budget for fighters. But they did manage to acquire Surplus F-5As and Bs. Which were retired back in 2004. The military goverment of Marcos managed to acquire brand new F-8s in the late 80s or early 90s i believe but they were all damaged during the Mt. Pinatubo eruption. So far that's the extent of my countries air power (sucks i know!). It basically just relies on what ever the US can spare. -

To each his own. Respect. :) Tried a different DACT P-51D vs Meteor F.8 I was expecting the circle right after the merge but it just extended and flew straight. after chasing it for a while it made its move to engage and i complied. Despite having greater maneuverability the Mustang doesn't have the overall speed to catch the meteor and it was really refreshing to see the AI using a different tactic when tackling a light piston driven plane. Instead of going on 1 circle all the time it tried to extend and reset. However The game eventually devolved to the one circle which lead to the demise of the meteor. :) -

I did flew the Hornet before. Back when i knew too little about flying and at that time it didn't work for me. But it could also be very much due to my partiality and love of the Tomcat. :) And jumping from the Tomcat which handles night and day compare to the Hornet it was too much for me to get used too. That being said i did understand its strength and respect its capabilities. Cant wait to see that Mega DACT... Eric - your DACT Reports has always been a great study on the fighters your using. Keep em coming. -

For quite sometime i felt that the game became quite easy.. turns out i got Blackout settings on fries. All better now! hehe!. So i've been ignoring this plane for quite sometime now despite having looked really hard for it before. I have wanted to get good with this as my country's airforce used to fly them, but somehow this just doesn't appeal to me the same way as a tomcat or a sader or a phantom does. F-5 vs Mig-29 Pulled up right off the merge, came down and hes gunning for a head to head. obliged and missed. one circles for eternity so i cut a bit of the video. got bored and went for vertical presses and head on shots but wasn't able to get a good enough angle for it. It got pretty repetitive so i just focused more and ended it. Ended the fight in another turn fight and just as i ran out of ammo i got him. The F-5 (in game atleast) is a good fighter. It turns pretty well decent turn rate and decent turn radius at all speeds, has two good engines that gives it enough grunt for decent acceleration and speed, climbs pretty well too. What else handling is neutral. not jerky nor slow. So in conclusion, the F-5 is a plane that can do almost everything pretty well, isn't bad at anything but at the same time, it doesn't have that thing that makes it stand out. It's a jack of all trades. You know that in an F-5 your in a pretty safe place. It should be able to slightly out perform its contemporaries in some aspect of flight/fight, how ever it doesn't blew them away. And that's the thing about this plane. In the battle against the fulcrum i was almost always in a position of advantage. however that's all i was able to get though most of the fight. it does a decent job at almost everything without faltering or without being spectacular that it just feels boring to fly. I guess this is the reason why i favor the F-8 more than it. -
Modern Flanker Cockpit

Hi man. The pit is really pretty and i know its not really meant for this model but i did and i really want to use this pit on the SU-37 Terminator released by dennissoliveira. The thing is i have a double canopy issue and using the hidefomcockpit methid gives me a floating wing. the other thing is my canopy open and closes depending on the throttle setting. Any tips? -

Thanks Eric Will Try it out. I thought i got a good fix last night with "the fuselages show from ccockpit set to false". I was fairly satisfied with the result until i looked at the rearview mirror and saw a floating wing. :) I don't think they mean't to besmirch the Phantom. We all know how good the phantom can be once you get used to it. But it dos take a little getting used to when transitioning ftom a more nimble fighter. Personally back when ihave only SFP1 and WOE with no combatace that E model was beast! I flew it more than i flew the eagle. Anyone remember using those AIM-4 Falcons? :) -

So saw some new cool mods for the Flanker, SU-37 terminator and new modern cockpit. Wanted to do fly with he new cockpit on the terminator but i kinda ran into problem with the cockpit not really being in place. Anyway, the Fm for the terminator is interesting. if there ever was a light handling FM here it is. The Pitch on the thing is too much that pulling all the way on the stick results in bleeding your energy in under 1 second while doing a 180 flip. (see vid). Su-37 vs FA-22 Raptor. Guns only. With my current stick setting (optimized for the tomcat) i only pulled up to 60% with this fight and its more than enough to out turn the raptor. This plane is very easy to fly. In the end i tried to coerce the raptor to change his flight path/ break right and pull up by shooting a couple of rounds off his nose (Warthunder vs players) but it turns out to be the only shots i needed. OT: Tried the new pit on the old flanker as well. Any tips? -
Ugh...AHMs in This Game...
saisran replied to PFunk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Besides. AHM in this game aren't really that reliable. try Firing a Phoenix Volley at 4 different targets. most of the time you'll get 1 kills out of 4 missile launched. 4/4 is quite rare. Stock AIM-54 also usually just fall of the rail dead. Another factor to consider is that. if your aircraft only has a detection range of 40nm shouldn't you be able to know your being fired upon from 70nm? -

Ugh...AHMs in This Game...
saisran replied to PFunk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
AHM Basically fire and Forget. So this doesn't bother me either. Anyway, Caesar explains you do get some warning. You just have to guessed wher and how far the missile was launched and what type so you can act accordingly. The thing about AHm is they are launched from quite a distance which gives you time to maneuver by either going tree top level, beam it or go high. -

Judging Watching your DACT. it seems like your zipper have beter turn ability than what i have, I really couldnt turn hard on my version without having it bleed energy and lose it. Probably same with the Flankers. the one i have is probably the same with Caesar. Quite an easy prey. -

Not really. Just got lucky as the AI choose the wrong maneuver and i happened to guess right on what the zipper can do (scanned a few articles before flying). @EricJ - just really read your DACTs. Great reports as always ( the work you guys did on the Hornets pit is really incredible) -

Well, in the unrecorded fight. I went neutral with the Mig in the merge so he can also get a fix on where i was. Went high but didn't pull though the loop as i was bleeding energy and fast so i rolled the zipper on its back and pulled, doing something that is sort of an aborted immelmann and a split s. Found the bandit circling round. I went past in an overshoot outside its circle and pulled right back up. I figured that my skill wont be able to give me a clear shot with the guns so i opted to re-position for a winder shot. The mig started a climbing in a left turn burners on. Got a good tone and that was the end of it. Just a couple of vertical maneuvers and that's about it. Eric. I think the last request was for a non EPE Hornet VS an advance version of the Flanker. -

Took the zipper out against a Mig-21MF with Atolls. 3 Fights. 1st one was this vid. have an SA advantage due to the RED infos (cheating). Swung round wide. Mig never saw me until it was too late. First winder was a misfire (didn't have tone) 2nd fight was a 2v1. To my dismay the Mig-21s are very capable of catching the zipper past mach 1. The Fm on the games model seems to be limited to mach 1.3 and i still haven't been able to reach numbers close to mach 2. Ended up with an Atoll on my ass. 3rd is this vid. 2v2. Wing lost control and crashed during the furball. I ended up taking both Mig on. Swung round wide at near mach speed. They never saw me until i was under 5m off their six. 1 bandit tried a gentle break to the right i had tone and Fox 2! Sent a second Winder for good measure. Splash 1! The 2nd bandit was in a dive breaking left. With gravity to aide me in my pursuit. I dove down and turned as hard as the zipper can manage. Got tone and got too excited. I took a shot which will never hit. Tried to turn tighter. Got tone But i know now that the old winder won't be able to make that turn. The bandit rolled to his right and pulled up. I know that if i overshoot i'm dead and instinctively i also know that he may cut across my screen pulling that maneuver off. Pressed the trigger for 2 seconds and prayed. Mig- pulled up straight into the path of my cannon shells and its splash 2! -

Took me a long time to do this fight. I can't find my old copy of SF1 good thing Wrench made this http://combatace.com/topic/57393-flyable-f-104s-for-sf2/ (For all wanting to fly the zipper). Also scanned a wiki article for the best match. Settled for a Farmer (don't have the Chinese version). Playing arcade mode in SF1 was night and day to playing simulation mode. First fight. I was testing out the limits of the zippers FM. as it turns out, it can't turn for anything. The phantom is like flying a saber compared to this. True to the articles read, you can't give the game zipper any hard angles. (really you cant give it any angles). And you can't slow down either. However the zipper is fast. It climbs like a rocket and accelerate like an arrow. And flying wide circle at mach speed should be able to get you in a good position for an -H winder. The -B winders wont do you any good. I did 2 more fights after this but i didn't record the videos. I was able to use the vertical a bit and managed to make the mig overshoot by using a huge difference in our climb rate and elevation. unfortunately my gunnery isn't good enough for a snapshot, so winders it is. Fortunately, tracked good and true. I tried to go in a turning fight on the 4th engagement. pulling on the stick and raising the zippers AOA the plane will vibrate. ignoring it can put you in a spin even at 500kts. Ignoring it and allowing your airspeed to drop to 200KIAS WILL put you in a spin. Pulling hard also wont make the zipper turn faster. Each time i do this the mig gets right behind my six. The good part about this jet is once you jam the burners in and put the nose low. you can get 2m of seperation from the bandit in just a few seconds. Keep flying straight until gives up chase and circle round for another shot. Will be going after the Mig-21s soon and see how it turns out. P.S. a better aviator might be able to do more with this plane i i ever could. But one thing is for sure this plane will be really fun to use going after Bombers. High and fast is where this plane shines!
