  1. File Name: USAF F-4 Tailcodes Version 2 File Submitter: mppd File Submitted: 17 Jan 2009 File Category: F-4 This is a complete overhaul to the USAF Southeast Asia Phantom II tailcode decals I did some time ago. It is now working for the post October patch for WOV as well as the original install versions. It depicts every USAF camouflaged F-4C/D/E Phantom II unit which flew in Southeast Asia from late 1966 until 1975 (a total of 66 schemes). All new decal art is provided, and many minor corrections were made as new information came to light. The textures are still 1024 pixel but should be considered as a placeholder until my newer higher resolution camo textures are finished. The original random F-4 serial numbers are included if you don't already have them. The new squadronlist.ini has many additional entries, but the default entry designations are unchanged so that you may still fly any missions or campaigns without any editing (although I have revised the descriptions). As before, it adds correct fin tip colors to the vertical fin tips and RHAW antenna housing, and wingtip tape light decals as appropriate for the time periods. Also included is a nose landing gear door decal with the last three digits of the serial number - which is repeated on the inside of the nose gear side fairing door (for F-4Ds only for non-TAC serials 000 thru 039). Although not appearing on every PACAF F-4D, this was very common on many F-4Ds in Southeast Asia. I have presented the most typical (and sometimes more colorful) markings for units - and in some cases even uncoded aircraft (as was typical at Udorn from late 1972 through 1973). Note that many squadrons have multiple entries in the squadron pull-down list, depending upon how many schemes a unit used. (Many squadrons have five or more entries). 2. There are several little problems with this package - the post patch F-4 3D model moved some things around a bit, so the old textures don't quite match (outboard pylons for starters), plus the canopy rail art is not that great a fit. The new post-patch F-4 inboard pylons also have the later era chaff dispenser pods attached. I have several fixes in the works, including new permanent tapelight objects, new and more detailed pylons/sidewinder rails, plus TISEO and the built-in under intake strike cameras the 1972 Rivet Haste birds had at Udorn. Plus new higher-res textures. Would like to backdate the superb Mirage Factory RF-4C also to a pre-tapelight version and add textures to match my other F-4s. Plus new markings info as I mentioned. Please bear with me as I get all these done, and I'll reissue something better for everyone for a pretty good representation of Vietnam-era F-4s soon. Thanks for everyone's patience. Mike D.
  3. External Hard Drives

    Right on - I have several 160s that I paid $69 for - a steal.
  4. WOV - have all of 'em though (except SF2 as I refuse to use Vista), but I was in High School during Linebacker, and I was trying to track units and squadron colors on F-4s back then. Now I can fly 'em. Mike D.
  5. Just found some new info - on Youtube no less. 1974 markings at Udorn - small 432nd TRW insignia on fin tip colors. Also 1974 pics of "JJ" coded 34th TFS F-4Ds showed some with a 388th TFW insignia on intakes. This will be a constant work in-progress as new info pops up. Thanks again, Mike
  6. Thanks - The F-4E decals.ini is set up for the F-4E-35 with my long gun mod, but the sharkmouth decals supplied are for the short gun. I submitted a small fix for both versions, which has not been approved yet. Sorry - thought I caught everything. Mike
  7. File Name: F-4E sharkmouth fix File Submitter: mppd File Submitted: 17 Jan 2009 File Category: F-4 In case you didn't download my long gun mod for the F-4E-35, here are the decals.ini files for the stock F-4E/long gun mod and the short gun F-4E-35. Also the sharkmouth decals which are slightly different. Add the decals to the Objects-decals folder of course. Add the decals.ini for the version you are using to each texture folder. Mike D. 10. Oh, I don't need to back my files up, my hard drive has never crashed....
  11. File Name: New USAF F-4 drop tanks File Submitter: mppd File Submitted: 4 Sep 2008 File Category: SF/WO*/FE Weapons Mods/Skins This is a replacement for the 370 gallon wing drop tank and the centerline 600 gallon drop tank for the Wings over Vietnam F-4C/D/E. The tanks are higher polygon versions a bit more accurate in shape, which didn't cause a slowdown on my fairly modest system, so hopefully it won't on anyone elses. You must be able to use the Weaponeditor to install these tanks. These entries do not overwrite your old tanks, but must be listed as entries in the aircraft data.ini files to appear. I have enclosed an F-4D data.ini as an example if you are still uncertain how to do this. Mike Druzolowski Click here to download this file
  12. File Name: North Dakota ANG F-101B skin File Submitter: mppd File Submitted: 8 Jan 2009 File Category: SF Century Series Skins F-100/F-101/F-102/F-104/F-105/F-106 19 F-101B/F Voodoos of the 178th FIS, 119th FGp(AD) North Dakota ANG at Hector Field, Fargo N.D. as they appeared in June 1973. The unit flew the Voodoo from November 1969 until March 1977. Skin per request! Mike Druzolowski Click here to download this file
  13. Since this is a "game" you can modify it to carry whatever ordnance you like, including bombs and napalm and sidewinders, but the F-101B went into ADC service armed with only TWO of the early model Falcons (AIM-4A/B/C), then the B- was dropped and the A/C model Falcons were carried until 1963-64 or so, when the C- model Falcon missile airframes were converted to D- models (which carried the advanced seker electronics of the G-model). In actual practice in the later years, only the IR AIM-4D Falcon was usually seen on the alert birds of ADC/ANG - not sure of the reason for this though. The AIM-4E/F/G Super Falcon are physically larger and will not fit on the Voodoo - nor will they fit on the F-102A (as is often quoted in some sources). Nor will the AIM-26A/B Nuclear Falcon fit on the Voodoo (which is also quoted as in Canadian Air Force inventory - the Nuc Falcons were stockpiled in Canada per NORAD direction for use by ADC F-102As at several bases, not for use on the CF-101B). Just so you know, Enrico was right... Mike D.

  17. To the above several posts, we mentioned Brunswick, Bangor and Loring. Greater Pittsburgh for deuces, Harrisburg for EC-121...O.K. kind of going astray here... McGuire is a good add. Quonset had USMC Reserve A-4Cs, plus RIANG C-130s. Add the closed-now NAS South Weymouth, Mass for Navy Reserve P-3s, Willow Grove PA also for C-130, A-4 and P-3. Stewart AFB in Newburgh was originally an old ADC base with F-86s. Burlington was Ethan Allen AFB once with ADC F-102s (37th FIS). Been to all these places taking photos. Mike D.
  18. Definately Enrico's (& team) F-101B - very accurate outline and details, nice accurate cockpit, nice touches like drag chute, nice flight model, nice mapping job to make repaints easy - hands down, no contest! Although the other Voodoo models are well done also... Mike D.
  19. My Hurricane markings became back-burnered by Dave and Enrico who requested a few more F-101 Voodoo skins, but I'll get back to them in a few days. Thanks for the compliments by the way. I'll try to do the Spit textures too. Mike D.
  20. Ooooh, sorry - typing too quick. No Westover F-15s - F-104/F-102A/EB-57 plus SAC of course. Man, you guys don't miss a trick! Barnes is now air defense with F-15s from Otis, not 104/102. Mike
  21. Sure. 22. This sounds great to me - a place to fly interceptors from. What AFB locations do you have flat spots for? Thanks again, mike D.
  23. Roads? I think that would be a bit much. I'd be happy with some random suburban/farm/forest terrain, with some city tiles here and there - and mostly flat spots where airport/AFBs go..! The WOE tiles look a lot like New England to me. Mike
  24. There was one in South Windsor also - still active when I was young. Mike
  25. It would be great just flying around local bases. I can help with air defense unit locations in the Northeast. Can always whip up some more Voodoo skins too. Mike
