  1. Very nice add on. Anyone looking into turning it into an AC-119 gunship? Thanks again, Mike D.
  2. New Law...Salute like a Man

    What's this salute called?.... Mike
  3. Excellent, something to shoot down with F-101B, F-106, and F-102 (soon I hope). Mike D.
  4. File Name: 45thTRS AH decals update File Submitter: mppd File Submitted: 10 Nov 2008 File Category: SF Century Series Skins F-100/F-101/F-102/F-104/F-105/F-106 This update to my WOV 45th TRS "AH" decals for Erikgen and team's excellent RF-101C fixes a couple of mistakes I made, and revises the actual size of the tailcode letters and serial numbers. As before, only 56-0166 carries the polka dot fin tip. Just drop the enclosed files into the "AH" folder in your RF-101C folder. Mike Druzolowski Click here to download this file

  6. Where are you guys coming up with the "LAU-10C" entry? Is this the LAU-10 without the end caps that I saw a picture of in this thread? This will save me making my own. Thanks, Mike D.
  7. Anyone ever encounter this - where you can't get a drop tank texture to match an aircraft texture? Here, the drop tank has an exact cloned texture of the plane....Tried deleting the .INI entry too... Mike D.
  8. O.K I'll try that. There is so much I don't yet know about all of this - I'm learning all of the time! Thanks again, Mike
  9. Now that makes sense - I have not even played with any of those values in my limited 3DSMax experience. I'll just make them new. Thanks again, Mike D.
  10. Fubar, Thanks for the tip - what I meant though is that the texture currently in use IS EXACTLY the same as the fuselage - same color/tone/etc. however in game, it displays much lighter and with a bluish tint on the tank. This is freaking me out, as the tanks I have made for the F-4 display the texture exactly as the art has it... I'm just baffled on this one. Mike
  11. Sorry, this didn't work. It seemed like an obvious thing to try yesterday too, but the only effect is to have the caps remain even after the rockets blast thru them! Was hoping someone had another idea. Oh well, I'll put it on my weapons-to-be-made list. Thanks, Mike
  12. I believe that two carriers off the coast of Vietnam tried camo in 1966 combat cruises. The net results were that the planes were hard to fly formation with, and deck handling was more difficult at night - it was scrapped. Seen on RA-5C, F-4B/G, A-4 and A-6A that I know of. Mike D.
  13. Jeff, It appears that some visual model issues are fixed with the new patched .LODs - check out the three-piece leading edge flaps now working correctly! My thanks to TK! I would use the F-4C .LOD for the F-4D if you still wish to use the add-on parts like the nose RHAW bump. All those F-4 add-ons could be combined into a new package complete with new tailcode decals one of these days. Mike
  14. Hey Crab, you working on a new visual model??? That would be great to mate with this very nice markings package! Nice job Jeff - I always appreciate the historical serials and markings. Mike D.
  15. Some pre-patch aircraft .LODs do not seem to work in a post-patch install. Use a standard F-4D.LOD from the post patch instead and rename as appropriate. Mike D.
  16. This small package provides accurate RF-101C serial numbers for the "AH" coded Voodoos of Det. 1, 45th TRS, 460th TRW at Tan Son Nhut AB, South Vietnam for erikgen's excellent RF-101C package. All 31 airplanes which actually flew with the unit from early 1967 until 1970 are presented here. The serial numbers were created from actual photographs of these airplanes, and microfilm records obtained from the AFHRC, Maxwell AFB, Ala. Per Dave, only one plane (166) had the blue polka dot fin tip. I also tweaked the colors to the great camouflage artwork supplied with the Voodoo package by erikgen, and I deleted the tape lights which were not added until around 1970. The 45th TRS, 39th Air Division at Misawa AB, Japan had been deploying on temporary duty with RF-101C Voodoo aircraft to Don Muang Airport, Tan Son Nhut AB and Udorn RTAFB since November 1961. The squadron moved into Tan Son Nhut during July 1966 as Detachment 1, 45th TRS attached to the 460th TRW, PACAF. The squadron on paper remained based at Misawa, and in fact was reassigned to the 475th TFW as of 15 January 1968, but conducted all of its flying operations in the combat environment at Tan Son Nhut. The unit was operational there until 31 December 1970, but supposedly the last Voodoo left Saigon on 16 November 1970. Shifting back to Misawa, the unit converted to RF-4Cs in 1971. (The 20 surviving Voodoos were flown back to the states where almost all flew with the 153rd TRS, 186th TRG, Mississippi ANG). The 45th TRS RF-101Cs seemed to have adopted tailcodes a bit later than other tactical aircaft in the theater, but certainly by late 1967 or early 1968. It was the only tailcoded RF-101C unit in Southeast Asia. Fixed the bad files now too. Credits: All credits and thanks go to erikgen and his Voodoo team for a terrific add-on for WOV. I only tried to make it a bit more historical for myself and anyone else who is interested. I have no photos of the blue polka dot fin tip so I did not use it - I think that it may have been pretty rare. 18. A very nice addition to the stable - one of my favorite airplanes, and a very nice job. You guys might want to double check the flight model - seems to roll to the right - pylon drag does not match from one side to the other. I also increased the pylon load limits to allow carriage of all the ECM pods I made. Thanks again, Mike D.
  19. Aw shucks Nick...It weren't nuthin.... Got to make up some drop tanks for the Razbam Skyraiders : 300 gal CL tank with blunt rear end, 150 gal finned and a round 150 gal tank I think with a rib around it (stolen from USN stocks). Mike
  20. Sure, I can use the base art for the 3D USAF pylons to make the Navy style ones. As I mentioned before though, the models will be weapon specific - If AIM-4 rails are mounted - no Sidewinders. If AIM-9 rails - no Falcons. If no IRM rails, no IRMs (which is what 90% of photos will show from Southeast Asia - no rails...). The winder rails are two types - early were mounted close to the pylon - later mounted further away with daylight showing (from 1971 or so). Price for slightly more realistic pylons/rails. Mike
  21. Well, here are some new USAF F-4 intermediate pylons - correct camo colors now. The pylons and rails do not automatically appear now with this method of deleting parts - I'll make separate airplanes for strictly A/G and A/A. Will add better Sidewinder rails and AIM-4D rails now.
  22. http://column5.us/aircraft2.shtml Isn't this the airplane? Mike D.
  23. O.K., so thinking out of the box here, how would an F-100C go over? Only issue would be the rudder, which, since it is different in shape, would be new and would not visibly move. Would not be able to decal it either for different squadrons/serial numbers though... I'm no expert on this model - isn't the wing different also? Any ideas here? Mike Druz.
  24. Why not repost it so everyone can use it. I had started fixing a couple of things that I found wrong, but got sidetracked with this 3D stuff that I'm still learning. No use restrictions on anything I make! Mike
