I had a fight yesterday flying Albatros DII from Jasta 18 in Feb. 1917 against some Nieuports 17 and when down at low level it was very difficult to turn with them, and the Albatros DII really felt like a heavy plane, which it was (it was a long mission s had to take off with 90% fuel and still had around 70% when the sh*t hit the fan...). Although I had to land (engine hits) and was made prisonner for the rest of the war ... -

It's just two different categories : flight sims and games... Try Wings of Prey in non-realistic mode, you have an excellent game with beautiful graphics ! (And in the settings of most flight sims you can always disable physics, wind, spins, engine management, etc...) I also loved the time I spent on all of these, but much prefer what we have now...

Thks for the tips, I was trying to use spot view, will try with the chase view... I also noticed the "wide angle" distorsion ( in fact I am also a hobby nature photographer - http://www.flickr.com/photos/corsaire31/ ). I took this Albatros screenshot when I noticed the special light on the planes with this very dark sky ( was really time to land, I didn't see any fires burning to spot the airfield ... ) -

I tried, but when in Spot view, if I use the KP to rotate the camera it goes in an endless spinning around... So for now I still use autopilot ! But to catch action I will need something else ... -

Thks... it's a lot easier to make screenies in RoF because you can save the tracks of your missions and use the replay with slow motion to find the good camera angles... ( I also found this function very useful in the beginning to review my dogfights at 1/4 speed to understand ACMs and shooting ) I suppose you can always use Esc in OFF and crop your picture to take out the menu in the top right corner ? I see you can switch views while in Pause mod. -

The Brisfit is one of my favourite airplanes in RoF ( I am one of the 2 seaters specialists in my squadron), will have to give it a go in OFF... My first screenies : Jasta 2 late return to Lagnicourt airfield - Oct 30, 1916 Nieuports 17 of Esc 23 fly over Verdun to Vadelaincourt Oct 26, 1916 Let's hope I get better weather for next ones ! -
You have it ! Thks for the welcome. I have been around CA fora long time, mainly for DL of Strike fighters when I was still flying jets... I'm already on 4 forums for Rise of Flight ( official RoF, Check Six in France, my squadron forum (Hellequins) and SimHQ) why not be on two for OFF ? Good flights all !

I remember spending a lot of time on this one too, and the whole Microprose thereafter. I also remember Aces over the Pacific and Aces over Europe ... we sure came a long way !
