  1. yep, "light years" away from the sounds of it...lots of tasks to get to that point but might be worth a shot (a start)...
  2. Few questions about this game

I installed the Russian demo and in place of text, I see a lot of "??????" type lines, so I'm having difficulty figuring out the keys and controls. I was wondering if you might perhaps post a screenshot or two of the keys, or perhaps just list the keys and controls here? Would that be possible?
  3. I'm new to modding terrains and am interested in giving it a (small) shot. Is there a way to adding buildings to specific tiles in a "random" sort of way, meaning that I don't have to physically place each and every building when making a city? Thanks in advance for any advice and pointers to any tutorials as such.
  4. Still being new to STL and trying to figure out the best solution: 1. Is there a way to detach the camera from the ship we’re controlling so that we can change the camera’s angle or move the camera separately from the ships? (that's asking more than what STL or the "free cam" mod does right?) 2. How to create another install of the game – just duplicate the STL folder to make a new renamed folder for mods, right? 3. Has the AI enemy selection been unlocked by some enterprising modder? I take it not..? Thank you in advance for your help and answers.
  5. 3 confirmation questions

Thank you - I'll try it out...
  6. 3 confirmation questions

Thank you Dagger and Ilithi Dragon for your input! I'll try the free cam mod. Yes, I was hoping for a camera that allows roaming. Doesn't "The free cam mod, which is included in TLG, and UUM I believe, allows you to detach the camera from the ship and move it independently" sound like the ability to roam since it detaches itself from the ship? I haven't gotten the free cam mod yet, but is there a special key to detach the camera? Thanks again for your input - I don't feel so frustrated now that I know I'm not the only one hoping for zoom controls too!
  7. whoops....happy belated birthday. Hope it was a great reminder of what your parents gave you!
  8. Roll Call

    present!
  9. F-35A

Just a word of encouragement.... Looking great, especially like the tint on the canopy.
  10. Tarr Chronicals..read the preview and get ready

lol keep your fingers crossed and let us know when you do!

Is there an English demo available? I've found the russian demos, but noticed english text in the movie posted here at combatace.
  12. I hope I'm not out of line if I place a request here for a *high resolution* Thunderbirds skin for the new F-16 models? Also, I don't know the designation, but the very first experimental model of the F-16 (XF-16?) had a red, white and blue skin (see attached image) - can't seem to locate this anywhere in the downloads here. Thanks
  13. I've only found the v1.05 which when launched in SP4, gives the error that it cannot find the groundobject.ini list. Does anyone know if a version of the DCE >1.05 that is compatible with SP4 exists? Or even a similar editor? Thanks for any suggestions!
  14. I haven't tried it, but wouldn't this just involve renaming the folder AND the aircraft.ini filename to something like F-15C_Soviet?
  15. OFF Phase 2

I read the documentation and it says “Over Flanders Fields Phase2 will automatically detect a Phase1 installation and backup appropriate folders into \Microsoft Games\Backup”. Does anyone know: 1.does this mean that Phase 2 will overwrite the Phase 1 folder? In other words, can I have both a Phase 1 and Phase 2 folder (in case something goes wrong with Phase 2)? (Is this even a good idea?) 2. Does this mean Phase 2 already contains the content and updates of Phase 1? Thanks…
  16. Shortest, most sensible guide I've seen LOL. Thanks again for a great plane!
  17. And you've certianly got a winner Zur!!! Glad to know from this forum that I'm not the only one experiencing the talon catching fire. Perhaps some short guideline as to what works best (or what not to do) with the talon is in order?
  18. Wow, more to look forward too...thanks!!!
  19. Is there a trick to accurately placing objects and planes when building missions? I'm using KMD and the large planning maps, but you can only zoom in so far. So if for example, you want to neatly place some planes on an airfield, all lined up, how do people do this? Is it a hit and miss and try again affair or using the coordinate numbers, or a combination of both? Is there another trick to doing this a little more easily? It's ok if there isn't - just would be nice to know I'm not doing it all wrong While I'm at it, how do I find out all the neat places to fly over? I recently flew a single mission that is generated randomly for the new korean map and flew over a part of the map that had what I thought was a really neat canyon and I would like to fly that area again. Thanks for any input!
  20. This is actually added to the soundlist, so if you got what you got, it's because you probably installed it to another folder other than your main sim folder. You can simply take the above and add it to the soundlist folder. What I question is why one of the entries is blank? i.e., []. Is that allowable?
  21. I'd love to have it if you are willing to share it
  22. Su-27-TVC

Hey, that looks like an F22 Raptor!? Are you making that too?
  23. Cloud particle updates

some nice looking clouds. Hope it doesn't have that same issue in SFP/WOV/WOE where clouds can rotate when viewed at certain angles and one rotates the camera...
  24. I wonder if you mean the mod that activates the nozzle direction gauge... -------------------------------------- no problem on not posting the av8b. I hope he recovers safely.
  25. Su-27-TVC

Do the nozzles actually pitch with the aircraft, or just the afterburner effect? Thanks for posting the pics and for checking with Marc - neat
