A little tidbit, don't know how well this is known. But you know how every Olympics how a bid deal is made of the running of the flame and how the flame is lit? Well, the Nazis started that way back in 1936....

So the IsraelME one is set up for anti-ship sorties...? -

I've got a feeling that Anti-Ship needs to be rejigged from the vanilla install maybe as when I undertake them, they're de-facto recon sorties as there are no sea-based targets, 9 times out of 10 it's over land and the mission objective is complete once I complete the way point. If this has been talked about(here, I'm not active at TW forums), then I've missed it too. -
Closest I could think of would be Civilisation 3, ventrillo and 7 other humans...

Sukhoi Variants

Just a heads up, when you see that new variant of yours pared on the tarmac, you'll notice that the canards will have disappeared. Don't worry, they'll still show up when you fly the plane again. I can't remember why this happens, but I think it has something to do with static planes not carrying payloads. -
I mean, he just randomly tackles the dude... I mean, I could vaguely, sorta, kinda understand if the cyclist had been egging him all day and the cop snapped (even though it's still WAY outta line!) but it's like he just said to himself "Yep, this one" and knocked the dude on his arse! Like it was for sh*ts and giggles!

If you follow the Fast Cargo's method in the canards installation pack (like you did in order to add the canards in the first place) you can pretty much add it to a Flanker, rename it and have different versions. Try this: Step 1. Copy the plane and add whatever skin you like and rename it (just like you have so far.) When you fly this plane, you should notice it uses the canards from the first plane you copied. Step 2. There should be three or four files you have to add to the OBJECTS/AIRCRAFT folder. Off the top of my head I believe they are Su27Pylons, Su27Canards, Su27Canards.lod, Su27Canards.out. I'm not too sure on the names as I don't have access to the files at the moment. Rename the files you added to the OBJECTS/AIRCRAFT folder to whatever you like. HOWEVER!!!! You have to use exactly the same number of digits in the file name (11). Eg. Renaming it to Su35Canards, Su31Canards etc will be fine as they both use 11 digits. Renaming it to Su35BMCanards won’t work as adding the ‘BM’ increases the filename to 13 digits. Step 3. Here’s the sorta tricky part. Your plane and your canards share the same name (Su-33/35/37/whatever) but it won’t work in game just yet. You’ll need to download a hex editor (I used this one: http://www.softcircuits.com/cygnus/) and open the canards.lod with it. Once in, cycle down the list until you come across any entries for Su27Canards. I think there were two. Rename them to your new name (Su33/35/37whatever), save and exit. Fingers crossed! I’m pretty sure it should work from there. To be sure, check your aircraft’s data.ini for any active references of Su27Canards and rename them accordingly. I thought FastCargo said that they were all edited out, but just check to be sure. I’ll write up a clear, concise step by step guide from the knowledge base real soon, but I’ll edit this as it could be clearer, but I'm at work at the moment. If anyone notices something I've missed, feel free to point it out and I'll edit it in. Lemme know how you go Koushiro! -
Wow! At first glance I have to say... what a douchebag. But that's a first glance.

Absolutely! Copy your existing folder (ie Su-33) and rename it to whatever you want (ie Su-35). Now your new Su-35 folder will be identical to the Su-33 you've copied it from. Make sure you rename the Su-33.ini to Su-35.ini otherwise it will not show in the aircraft list in-game. I'll give you instructions shortly, but I'm at work at the moment and the instructions are a little tricky and will require the use of a hex editor. If you haven't used one before, never fear, what you'll be using it for will be VERY straight forward. I have noticed one thing about copying and renaming aircraft though. I have about 4 different variants of the Su-27 family with canards in my install, and in after action reports, it displays the file name, not the aircraft name. For example, one of my Su-35s uses the filename "Su-26". In the AAR you'll see "1 Su-26 was damaged" instead of "1 Su-35M was damaged." -
...or anyone else really who knows anything about this. I've recently joined the defence forces here in Oz and have currently in the midst of training like a mofo to stay healthy and keep fit I've run into a bit of a snag. I've just been told I have splints and it's making my life hell at the moment, at least, the part of it that does the running (because you know how they like to make you run! ). Does anyone have any tips about how to overcome this, or how to recover more quickly?? I'd be very appreciative for any insider info. Sprinting is okay-ish, but I've been finding I can't sprint as far as I used to be able to. Jogging is next to impossible and walking is perfectly fine, as though there's nothing wrong. The last doc I spoke to was quite vague about it all... but I think it's because he had more teeth than brain cells...

Having a decal issue, lil' help?

I've been fooling around with an idea for a USAF Flanker skin and I've run into a bit of wall with the decals. I've nicked the decals from the Mirage Factory F-15C for the time being just to get an idea as to what it would look like, but I can't seem to figure out the co-ords in the decals.ini. My entry for the snaps shown are: [Decal005] MeshName=Right_Vstab DecalLevel=3 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=SU-27N/Grey Camo/D/LT Position=-5.9,2.2 Rotation=0.0 Scale=3.0 DecalMaxLOD=3 [Decal006] MeshName=Left_Vstab DecalLevel=3 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=SU-27N/Grey Camo/D/RT Position=-5.9,2.2 Rotation=0.0 Scale=3.0 DecalMaxLOD=3 [Decal007] MeshName=Right_Vstab DecalLevel=2 DecalFacing=RIGHT FilenameFormat=SU-27N/Grey Camo/D/RTailnum Position=-5.8,1.7 Rotation=0.0 Scale=3.0 DecalMaxLOD=3 [Decal008] MeshName=Left_Vstab DecalLevel=2 DecalFacing=LEFT FilenameFormat=SU-27N/Grey Camo/D/LTailnum Position=-5.8,1.7 Rotation=0.0 Scale=3.0 DecalMaxLOD=3 This is using the existing Flanker decals entry from the skin that came with the Marcfighter Su-27. I was going to just copy and paste to the Vstab's texture directly, but they seem to inflate somewhat after being added. I had a looksee in the KBase but the entry of decals didn't have anything to positioning co-ords as far as I saw. -
Still, this gave me a good laugh. Props to Talula for getting herself arrested so she could get a name change! http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,24076010-23109,00.html

In that case, kick 'em. Then they'll have bite marks on their sphincter.

He's a senator. I've yet to see a Senator or an MP from anywhere who doesn't give servicemen anything but the most token acknoweldgement. Yet they'll always pledge their undying love and respect for them during speeches and rallies, dropping their favourite buzzwords like 'Courage' and 'Sacrifice' (and f**king 'Spirit of the ANZACs' here which is a buzzword/term that's ALWAYS used out of context) as it's allows them to tap into that sentiment and supporter base. Remember, they only want your support, after that watch how only care about you and your cause if it's going to cost them support. This aspect of politics is one that transcends party lines... yeah, I know it sounds a bit cynical, but I'm having a REAL bad day! That said, the only good coverage of this campaign you'll get is by watching Stewert/Colbert

Okay, I've given the running a little break and the calf muscles feel fine, although I'm having random people put their hands on my belly and ask when I'm due now. No pain when I run/jog short distances, but it's definitely foot related. I've got fallen arches so I'm gonna have to get inserts (plus better running shoes would help). Oddly enough, I've been trying the different surfaces thing already as I live about 10 mins walk from the beach. I've gotta head up to Mt. Lofty (which is about 45mins away in the foothills) and go for a run in the hiking trails. I've heard uneven environments will help as I'll be utilising muscles I wouldn't normally use when running on flat zones.

What about lobbing a beehive at them. You'll need a land based system capable of deploying area denial munitions... Like some kind of home made catapult or mortar.
-
You know, if you wanna pack some punch, forget the Bee. One sting and it buggers off and dies. Now a Wasp can sting until the cows come home... ...just not on a Sunday.

Has anyone seen this yet?? I have two words... HOLY CRAP!!! Think I need a drink after that ride!

Yeah, I got a bit of a chuckle out of it! I've noticed that animated gifs don't seem to be animated when uploaded...

Isn't it the only instance of a rolling scissors on film, during the dogfight at the end? I think Ice has something like 5 F-5s on his 6. You see it for a split second... I reckon Ironroad's right about it though. If it gets made, you'll see sh*tty, implausible CG everywhere (because it's "cheap") and paper thin plot. It'll bomb, no pun intended. Look at the films that heavily involve aircraft in the past 5-10 years. The Aviator not withstanding, they all sucked at the box office and were usually pretty weak. I mean Stealth lost something like 60 million and only grossed around 12 million on it's opening weekend. Now I'm curious. When was it anyone here saw a good movie with aircraft? I think I with FC thinking that the Final Countdown was probably the last one I saw...

So...um... Those M-4's using banana clips now, huh?

Finally got my computer back up and running since my crappy video card crapped out on me. I've been able to fix it up a little more: It's easy to see how I've cheated by using Marco's original skin, but I haven't had the time or patience to make one from scratch and it doesn't look too bad... kinda. But this section of the skin under the vert stabilizers is kicking my ass! I can't figure out where it lies at all! Does anyone know whether it's part of the fuselage or the Lefttail/Righttail files? -
You gotta be happy with that! I've been watching this unfold all day. Still can't get over that he's been at large for 13 years in the same region...
