  1. Huge Freakin Storm!

Hope they have time to move to a safer location(just in case).good luck!
  2. I really would not notice even the slightest difference between 58.8 and a 60!
  3. Just Plane Wrong

Actually Modern Warfare 2 was a great shooter(the thing it's meant to be).Sure they may have gotten a few things wrong. But the detail applied to the models is pretty accurate.Especially to the fighters and helicopters.I would take it along with Modern Warfare 3 over Battle Field 3 any day of the week.
  4. Well if you're happy, that's all that matters!
  5. Try re-installing or look for the weather mods in the sf2 downloads.Never seen this kind of problem before.
  6. Sf2 allows you to create a completely different install which borrows the same engine.Hence, modding it is extremely easy as you don't have to touch your vanilla install and you never find the wrong aircraft flying in the wrong era or conflict. This is kinda important to history nerds like me and a lot of other people!
  7. 10 years ago

    Too much hostage casualties.
  8. OT--Ghost Images from WWII...

Now we know what combat trauma feels like.Good pics.
  9. DETROIT TIGERS!

Looks like somebody's got a lot of celebrating to do!
  10. Syrain Helicopter Shot Down

Well......They shot down a turkish phantom with both pilots dead.Guess the helicopter crew had to pay the price for the actions of their higher ups.
  11. @Panama Red:The viewlist mod is actually for the Sf2 series by thirdwire but it might work with First Eagles 2.Look in the SF2 downloads section.
  12. I think the mission parameters would probably prevent the merging of a strike and a recon mission(unless you want to fly an armed recon). The only recon missions I fly are photographic ones(hence the name recon). To make it a bit realistic,I use the viewlist mod by PureBlue. While flying over the target,I switch to the belly camera and take a couple screens of the target. It's actually really fun with lots of Anti air threats and maybe some fighters on your tail! However,it stops being fun the moment you're shot down so flying close to land and under a lot of threats requires a certain level of skill.
  13. Wondering when TK will make a terrain DLC.They also need to make more 'original' aircraft(the ones never featured before in the games.)
  14. You can use the radio commands to communicate with home base and check mission status.
  15. Tried it on a friend's tablet. It's good....But I think I'l stick with SF2.The feeling you get with mods simply cannot be taken away. But the games pretty good for a handheld.
  16. Announcing DCS: UH-1H Huey

I think by 'combat support missions' they mean to allow the huey to act as a gunship(kinda strange as DCS has attack helos). However,it would be fun to fly CSAR/SAR missions under heavy enemy ground fire.I imagine allowing the player as both the pilot and the gunner. This aspect may appeal to a lot of hardcore players of military sims looking for a challenge. However, this would depend on the fidelity of the game physics as nobody wants an ARMA 2 clone!
  17. F-7P Skybolt V1.0

    Version 1.0

    517 downloads

PAF F-7P Skybolt Interceptor For SF2 For SF2,Full-5 merged or at Minimum SF2E and SF2V(Required for Cockpit and HUD) Overview: J-7MP After nearly two years use of the F-7M, Pakistani Air Force (PAF) returned the 20 F-7M aircraft to China in the late 1980s with recommendations for 24 upgrades, including replacing the original GEC-Marconi Type 226 Skyranger radar with the Italian FIAR Grifo-7 radar, and AIM-9 Sidewinder capability. The Italian radar weighs 55 kg, had a slot antenna planar array, and had a range greater than 50 km, while the British radar only weighs 42 kg, with a parabolic antenna, but only had range of 15 km. Both radars have a mean time between failure rate of 200 hours. J-7MP:is the design specially tailored to Pakistani requirements. J-7PG Alternative to J-7MG, similar to the J-7MG except with Italian FIAR Grifo-MG radar, which further increased the sector of scan to +/- 30 degrees from the +/- 20 degrees of Grifo-Mk-II on F-7P. The Grifo-MG radar has better ECCM, look-down and shoot-down capabilities than its predecessor Grifo-Mk-II, while the weight remained the same. The number of targets can be tracked simultaneously is increased from the original 4 of the Grifo-Mk-II to a total of 8 of the Grifo-MG. Pakistan and Bangladesh evaluated the aircraft, and evolved to F-7PG. The Mod: This mod represents the F-7P Skybolt in service with the PAF from the late Eighties. This version of the aircraft is not to be confused with the newer F-7PG with it's Double Delta Cranked wing profile. The base model used is the stock TW Mig-21 F-13 as it is exactly like the F-7P.All the texturing was done using Gimp2.6.The Skins were made by modifying the stock grey skin and include textures for: CCS Standard CCS Grey(Kill Markings) No.20 Squadron No.17 Squadron No.2 Squadron Lo-Viz The Weapons loadout is completely revamped to include western munitions. The Aircraft still however, uses the stock fuel tanks. This F-7P is strictly made to be used for Air Defence. But,Ground munitions are still included for pilots who like to bomb. Installation: After Unzipping F-7P V1.0,place all the contents of folder inside your objects folder located in your SF2 mod folder. When asked to overwrite, click yes. Note:If you do not know anything about the mod folder, the immediately stop the installation,go to the COmbatACE Forums,Go to the Strike Fighters 2 Knowledge Base and take a look at the thread explaining the Strike Fighters 2 mod folder mechanism. If you are modifying my textures for your own mod, then you have my permission as long as I(Lazarus1177) am acknowledged as the original Author. IMPORTANT: I HEREBY CLAIM NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY OF THE CHANGES THIS MOD MAY RENDER TO YOUR GAME(Even though it doesn't).IF THIS MOD IS INSTALLED,THEN IT IS DONE ONLY BY THE WILL OF THE USER AND I CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS.INSTALL AT YOUR OWN RISK.(The mod is perfectly safe, but I still claim no responsibility just to be safe!) Credits: Aircraft Model:Third Wire Texturing:Me Pilot:Came from dtmdragons Falklands Harrier mod FM:Me I would also like to thank forum members EricJ and Gepard for their support regarding the Aircraft's Engine thrust. Hope you have as much fun flying it as I did Making it. Regards; Lazarus
  18. Announcing DCS: UH-1H Huey

No freakin' way!I got the same question.....What battlefield will this be based on?
  19. Fact or fiction

Gepard is right. The soviets had quite a number of cobras in service and could have lent them to the koreans.Again, pictures of aircraft from that era are limited.
  20. MA State drug chemist botched 1000s of cases

Legalising drugs will only work if the laws pretaining to them are extremely strict(capital punishment, imprisonment, exile etc.).Also,they must never become a commodity and must only be available for retail at exclusive and select locations. However,I really wouldn't be surprised if we have places such as cocaine'R us or maybe "weedmart"!
  21. First Concert in a decade

Well,he's the same guy who bit off the head of a bat!Insane!
  22. Guess it all comes down to pilot training and skill in the end.
  23. Yup.But that was only for the naval phantoms and only after the navy reviewed it's aerial tactics and strategies.
  24. The R-3 had a very poor performance during the wars at long range. However,at extremely close ranges, the results were pretty good. But then again, the mirages never ended up in front of the migs and the training standard of the Arab pilots was pretty questionable. That is why they sometimes used pilots from friendly nations such as Russia,Pakistan,Libya etc. This however, does not mean that the Mig-21 was a weak fighter. In fact,it was proven superior to the Phantom in engagements over Vietnam.
  25. Saw this, figured it would get a chuckle in this crowd...

    Kinda looks like Jason Statham.
