My college team, Auburn University, is coming from nowhere to end it's regular American football season at the Iron Bowl classic in Auburn, Alabama. They are 10-1, rated #4 in the nation, and were expected to win, maybe, six games this year. Riding high this week because, deep in my heart, I expect the University of Alabama's team to whip my boys quite thoroughly. As I have said before, hope does spring eternal.

Bama has been, is, and will be a good football school. Auburn is just better this year. The Jug is headed to Pasadena to see if we can hang with the Semiholes!!!!

I really feel like stirring the pot today, so I would offer that the UK should join the US and then they would appreciate a day of Thanksgiving more. They have much more in common with the US than they do with the EU.

I'm really liking the way this TBird fills out that red blouse.................. Ah, once I was young too..

Snailman. Understand your explanation better now. However, not much new here. You can become the town crier on a soap box in front of city hall or buy some stock. I recommend the latter.

Since my kids always fuss that they cannot get a good Christmas present for me and they usually don't, I bought one for myself. A special issue Bulova watch. I think it will be one I will wear instead of tossing it in the local circle file when the kids have returned home.

Actually saw my 64 year old wife do a back flip in the sports bar near Crystal City, VA, where Auburn fans gathered for the Iron Bowl. She is not in the hospital, but I am working on getting her head examined. Is this why we watch college football or what? 34-28 War Eagle!!!!!!

Ah the dangers of demon rum..............

So the final word is that the war against Japan and Germany were the result of the US actions/inactions. What have you been smoking because I would like to try some.

In the US, we set aside a day of Thanksgiving for all that we are fortunate enough to have. This is thanks for God, family, friends, country, and this beautiful planet. I include all here at Combat Ace among the things that I am thankful for. God bless and keep you all.

Every time I read something about the Canadian Defense Forces, I am reminded of the national travesty of the CF-105 Arrow affair and think about the piece of work politicians can make out of the tremendous efforts at Avro. Always thought there was some $$ involved in there somewhere and, sad to say, I am afraid the source was some deep and unscrupulous American pockets.

I'll join that chorus of kudos to the KAW modders. Well Done!!

I have a Winchester model 12 pump with U.S. Army stamped on the side of it. It was a trench warfare gun used during WWI. I had to add a polychoke to make it legal in barrel length. Had a good friend make the pump hand piece and stock from burled hardwood and it is a real beauty. Love to welcome those with criminal intent into my home with it. Have not had any takers, but hope springs eternal................

What is left of British politicians may be true, however, in the same circumstance with American politicians, there is nothing left and the poor croc would have starved to death.

Burning and turning at its best......................almost.

Female RAF recruits paid compensation for marching injuries
Jug replied to MigBuster's topic in The Pub
I didn't know marching beside a Brit soldier was so stressful. I shall be careful should the need arise. I was under the impression that military service by anyone was permissible as long as their participation did not detract from the effectiveness of the fighting force. Never was sure how marching around contributed to the effectiveness of a fighting force, but there are better men than I who have determined it to be so. If that is the case, then women must be tested for acceptability prior to entry into the service and not after they are put in a position to harm themselves. So, I propose that each woman at the beginning of basic training be put between two Marine DI's and marched for several hours straight and released from service if it appears that harm may have been done. Each woman may opt out at that point or prior to the marching test. The male basic volunteers would not have to do this as it has not been litigated. Thereby, the splendid, bitchy results of a few will result in further misery for the many. Another great step forward in achieving sexual equality in the workplace!!!! Do I sound sarcastic? -
So kentcol didn't do things to everyone's liking. We all have our days when impatience overrides our discretion. Very nice apology, my boy. Good on you.

Lenin is doing back-flips in his grave. Actually, I don't think they did a bad job at all.

Any of the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child are fun reads. (I have no idea why they picked Tom Cruise to play 6'5", 250 lbs. Jack Reacher in the first of these books turned into a movie. Got to give him credit though, he did a good job)

A welcome home to remember. RIP, brothers.
