  1. Thanks, but there's no need now, I should have mentioned a little playing around with your technique got those faces too the wireframe version looks exceptionally crappy. Now off to find an old tutorial that had a nice method for getting the sliding canopy the way it should be...

  7. Thanks, serverandenforcer's method worked for some of the faces. Unfortunately I noticed one more spot, and the faces near the cockpit are actually 2 different polys. Different angle showing a new spot, 3 polys affected there. And two full shots. It's the real boeing JSF, which will come in 3 flavors: 1 CTOL/CV/X-32A, VTOL X-32B and proposed production F-32. The Janes X-32 ASTOVL design is too radically different and would need to be done from scratch. This one is from a model I bought, since the design was just too much for me to model myself from scratch. I'm used to making much easier shapes like tanks, swords, shields or helmets.

    incredible! I didn't expect to see it this fast. May I use this in my fighters anthology mod? It was one of the planes I was expecting to build from scratch.
  12. I think some of the YAP missions have you flying wingman, but they are hand crafted missions. Flying wingman is probably not worth the effort in generated missions, though I've always thought it a little odd to be out on a sortie and be commanding lt. colonels and majors as wingmen while I'm just a flight officer.
  13. I thought about getting the korea tileset they sell, but they don't have enough pics to help me decide, same with the WOV and WOE and their aircraft. I'm quite happy with brain32's tiles and CA_starry's amazing TOD work. Actual forrests and jungles, making the terrain almost on par with the aircraft of the sim.

  15. If you want training-esque realism in operating an aircraft, Falcon 4 Allied Force is your best bet. But simply not enjoyable IMO.

    Do "best of"s count? I have a Rolling stones and Santana one that has all the Gems from each. Dark Side of the Moon without a doubt. The Wall should be on there too. No, I'm not a stoner, I just happen to love music written by stoners The best though is my mp3 player. At least 30 hours of Pink Floyd, Santana, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, ACDC, 311 and too many others and one-offs to count. Only for those who can safely say they've had an orgasm through their ears.
  18. err, gone? I don't understand. I'm trying to do 100 projects at once so either X-31 and 32 will take a while. I bought a x-32 model to speed things up, needs major changes to the wings and intake. I'll eventually do both the X-32 and then F-32
  19. I was gonna suggest making the pit like the F-20, the real X-29 pit was like the F-5's, no fancy MFDs or anything combat related, while the F-20 did. The yf-23 works too though. Maybe then you can help me out with the X-31 and 32. excellent as always, I can't wait to see it skinned (Forward me the psds, I'd like to make a full suite of fictional skins)
  20. Oh I've got to worry about them, they really should be done before I start placing cities, targets and airfields so the actual land is out of the way. I've got to transition from egypt and israel as desert all the way to Ukraine. AFAIK I've got to combine and edit texturelists and I'm going to need a ton of brand new transition textures. (and alot of hand tweaking the tiles)

Well until the targets and cities are started( or hand tuning tiles) it doesn't take much to resize a map. 2 would be best, all the way covering all of Ukraine, some of russia, all the way west to Italy, covering the whole of Turkey and greece would be almost as daunting as Lexx's half the world map. This is the point where I'm wishing TK had gone with a whole world map like MSFS. Where we could place targets and they could be the same no matter what the area of operations. Tilesets were an area I was extremely worried about, maybe we can all use the same set?
  23. Pureblue and brain, perhaps we should collaborate. All three of us are building terrains covering the same general area. Mine is a bit farther East and North to cover all of the Black Sea and Ukraine. It'd be a waste to have such overlap and three maps, each with different airfields targets and terrain tiling.
  24. Help! I'm starting to get the hang of the terrain editing, but my coastlines are all screwed up.
