Kevin. Thanks again. I have made a pilot record screen using your templates and my painting of a real RAF pilot. I put it in a folder I made here: C:\Users\TANIA\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFighters2 Europe\Menu and it showed. Try it and let me know if it is good enough to upload. I can also change it--I am open t suggestions. I can move the images around, resize them, delete them and add other ones perhaps, etc--all the Photoshop changes\tools can be used. Dave, I see. And the only reason I visited the Capun site was because I want a WWII SF installation and one file (it may have been a plane--do not remember now) was only available there. I am glad you undesrtood me. Nothing wrong with this site here. Nick

SFP1ACE, I did not ask anyone to change their downloading sources, did I? I must be mad to ask such a thing. I just asked what other sites there are. How difficult is that to understand? I do respect the choices of all in uploading or downloading wherever they like and will certainly not interfere with their choices--never. Respect should be mutual. I apologize profusely if my wording sounded unrespectul.to some ears, though I am sure my wording sounded ok to some other ears. A matter of sensibilties or over-sensitiveness perhaps. And to add a truth, when I visited Capun's site, I did not like it at all and l will have nothing to do with them, Fubar, in his response above sounded reasonable, logical and enouraging. (Thank you Fubar). In fact, because of his wonderful response, I will hurry to make something and upload it here,as my first contribution. Since I am new to the game and still do not know some of its structural details, it will be something small and easy, like a menu screen. Dave,. No problem with that. You get the wrong impression. I simply wanted to know what other sites there are. Some, like the French site mentioned above, are of intense interest to me as I speak and write French and can post in their forums and download French skins. I have a soft spot for French colors as I find their sqquadron and wings insignias very refined. If you search under "Tselepides" at flightsim.com you will find French repaints of WWI a/c I made, plus others.. I have lived in France. I also speak and read Russian and will find out about Russian sites through a Russian (relative) friend I have in Moldova, the nephew of my wife, in fact. My wife is from the Republic of Moldova-- of Russian descent however. Many do not even know where that country is. I did not either until I got married. Z09SS, Whose F-102? Gerwin's? Dave, It is clear that some addons cannot be downloaded here. Also, since I come from an FS9 and FSX background, I am accustomed to many sites and many forums as well. And download from nay and post in many forums. As simple as that. Let alone the fact that I could not ge used to the possibility that only one site has a monopoly on SF. Democratic principles? Kevin, Where can I get the SF2E expansion pack? I have one folder named [sF2_update_Mar2012]with an exe in it named [sF2_update_Mar2012.exe] and a text file that says: I have a 2nd folder named [sF2_update_Mar2012_Hotfix] with an exe in it named [sF2_update_Mar2012_Hotfix.exe], and exactly the same text words as above. Found those through google--they may be pirate or unauthorised--I do not know. Finally I have a file named [sF2_update_Jul2013.exe]. Arre any of the above what you say I need for the "ready-made" Lightning. If not, can I have a direct link to the SF2E expansion pack? Nick

What about the Swiss? They have an army, but no sizeable Navy and understandabky so. Their country has no sea....They can only float their ships in lakes and rivers from which they cannot escape if attacked. Even if they managed to sail at full speed seaward in rivers, the nearest seas are too far and they would not make it in time and flee from their pursuing enemies, aircraft or ships, if any.... The Swiss cannot possibly float them up their mountains and their Alps, either, unless they fit skis to the hulls and make wind with ventilators for their sails, but even then the skiing tourists would complain.. Joking, of course.... What about Greece? We have the oldest seafaring nation in Greece with 1200 or more islands and the largest merchant fleet in the world. Any badge for us Greeks? We have had war fleets for 2000 years or more.... Nick

I downloaded Russo's Lightning F,mk 6 and cannot install it. He says in his Readme (I cannot find where what is marked in red below is--in blue you have my questions): "Lightning Fmk6 Ver1.0,(Beta)for SFP1 By me Russouk2004... This is a beta and is not the finished article,so keep this in mind..lol She flies ok but I will get the FM done a tad more realistic when I can. Extract the A\c folder called "Fmk6",and move it to the Objects \Aircraft folder (where is this?).....there will be no Cockpit folder(using F100D for now),so just copy the F100D cockpit folder into the Fmk6 folder...no editing to do),and two squadrons,Number 5 and Number 11 squadrons,(more to follow).. Sounds.... Copy the sound folder to the main SFP1 folder,and click yes to overwrite..Thats it (I could not find a sounds folder in SF Europe) Effects... Put the AFTERBURNERF6.TGA in the objects folder.(which one?)..then Copy n paste the entries in the particlesystemreadme to your particlesystem.ini file as per the instructions included in the readme...thats that...make sure you back up the original 1st... Regarding skins..at the moment only a\c numbers are decals,If you want to add decals then feel free,tho I will be doing them later..(soon as I have time.) Weapons... Copy the entry in the weapondata.ini,in weapons folder,to your weaponsdata.ini,and add using the editor (which editor?)in the usual way. I have included the excellent Pilot skins for RAF,put them in the aircraft folder (which one?) Squadrons.... Add these to the squadrons.ini in the flight folder..." I also looked at the beginner's help on how to install a/c, but no explanations as to where these files go. I am used to fs9 and fsx--where things are simple and logical--and the crazy structure of this game beats me. For a beginner it is torture to add even a simple thing like an a/c,.. Last time I tried to add a Javelin I messed up the sim and had to reinstall all 4 versions from scratch. I have a merged install with 4 versions. TK should make a neater version if he can. Any help will be appreciated, I was thinking of adding this a/c to SF Europe...right or wrong? If I fail to add this a/c, I think I will give up this sim for good. Nick

I am confused and I apologize. I think I meant a game named NAVAL BATTLES, with sail warships with broadsides guns similar to HMS ViCTORY, or smaller. I saw some videos on Utube that looked nice.

Thanks for the advice. What is CBI? Since a WW2 install involves getting some a/c from Capun's site (and I cannot find a way to download from them), I think I should start with the PTO perhaps if there is a pack for it here; though I do not know how I would find that. Is FIRST EAGLES a WWI version? Kevin: Your second screenshots of the Saved Games folder is what is called in these posts the Mods folder, riight? And what do the Extracted Files and Utilities folders contain? I suppose those are folders you made yourself that help you make mods. Nick

You may have noticed the RAF pilot image in my posts. I have made many such gouache portraits and what I can do is work with them in Photoshop, make them brighter and give them an oil-painting look and then use them to make all new in-game screens. Long ago, I had made some. I remember one where I had a group of RAF pilots in shorts sitting by a tent in the Malayan Emergency era, summer clothes, outside, with a couple of the chaps standing, all looking at you and smiling. I can do load-out screens or most other types. I can also use your requests. If, for example, you tell me “I would like a Pilot standing next to a Beaufighter for such-a-type of screen, I can try and do it for you. Endless combinations of composition are possible here—seeing all the theaters of operations. I have made my own screens for CFS2 as well and used them in my installs of that…. Let me know what you would like, or give me suggestions. I can start right away, By the way, the Malayan Emergency RAF operations merit a stand-alone “SF RAF MALAYA” game. It may exist for all I know.. Vampires, Beverleys, S.A. Twin Pioneers, Venoms, Bristol Sycamores, Hunters, Meteors, Douglas Dakotas, Westland Whirlwinds, Avro Lincolns, Mosquitoes, etc.. Nick
