  2. Lybia terrain, latest version from wrench, as downloaded from CA. WOE patched, pointed at desert.cat is there a reason why?, Must be something easy..happens also in other terrains, does not happen prepatch What is funny is that if zoom quite away you see the whole ship, then you zoom in (or approach) and the ship sinks,,

  5. I agree with every line of your post Kev; I am personally (as you and others) banging my head to update my install and shared all the findings that caused me problems so far. But apaprently people do not do the searches that wpuld make their own life easier,, and making them learn more, so they can help out the community,, and we can all have more fun which is our ultimate goal I hope. On this topic Kev, correct that post in the KB, when you can , since that can lead to another endless line of "my GM radar does notwork" threads. As for the F-16C, I have the whole series based on the F-16 model made by ?Dave? (can't remember)with an unfinhsed Cockpit of F-16 C (but I like it) that has been around for a while and updated their avionics at avionics70.(CCIP; LCOS; AA AND AG sympblogy) Nothing really MF level, since the cockpit is not finished, and avionics is not F-16, but I do like them and they are perfect until MF model arrives (I can't wait.) I made them myself using files and .ini available on CA.. and retouched my inis (avionics and cockpit) They have been around for a while now I could try packing a modern F-16C like those that I have in my isntall,, which again are far way from perfect..but I don't know if I actually can since they use stuff from all over the place.. Maybe posting only cockpit, avionics and avionics ini and cockpit ini?
  6. I fixed the Player-part of the FM; the AI flies it well,, but my wingmen lined up on the taxiway pitchup and explode right there. It is not a terrain problem. Anyone fixed this plane? From Ai and Player point of view....
  7. Is there any way to fix the fuel indicator in the cockpit? other than that it is perfect.. I ve been bangign my head on it to no avail
  8. Oh yes Klavs. I know it is a Beta on this respect.. was calling "to arms" someone to see if we can fix this..The model is great,, and the cockpit itself too. I frankly see only the fuel gauge as a problem to fix,, other than that is perfect release amterial

  10. I tried tinkering with aircraftobjectini to no avail.. I was hoping it was only my lack of skills, but your answers comfir that actually there is a big problem. I like all the features of the new patch, it is great as I wrote elsewhere. This thing of the flight models thoguh might turn into a big deal on medium to long term. Actually one half of the plane are unflyable, one quarter is "tricky" one quaerte is good. IMHO, I have the feeling that if this FM retrofitting is left not taken care of, we might face a community rejction of this patch, which is a shame due to its amazin gfetures. What can I do to help here? I am game. Do you want to open a sticky for this?
  11. The amount of flight models to update is humonguos. Some airplanes are good,, some are decent, some are downright unflyable. I wonder if something can be on on the aircraftobject.ini, instead of updating each and every FM

    I have evidence on targets for italian airforce planned according to nato strategy being in yugoslavia (should it took WP's side) and mostly Hungary. On the other hand, deployments of F-104G or tornados in germany bases equipped with the same planes were done VERY often. therefore a squadron operating maybe from Erding (where often F-104G of Italian ariforce used to go, or Rammstein, is absolutely realistic. Thus saying adding a squadron and a campaing to a campaign is very easy. the advantage of the NF series is that all the modding and cleaning details part is done by column, and we all know what a PITA those little details are.   14. Yep I tried it again the satellite is there. But the point being is that locking in the reticle look like a roulette thing. Out of 8 sorties , in the perfect spot,, on the vertical in between the 4 parked plane targets, I locked it ONCE, and if I look at satellite with reverse-view (shift f8) I can't see the model. I must be doing something wrong. Is there any way to make the satellite easier to lock? I tried taking the maxvisibledistance= on tselina's data.ini to redicoulosly high values, but nothing.
  15. Well said. Clean install, then move carefully stuff from old instal to new install ,at a pace compatible to your own skill in identifying problems. On the other hand Dave there are a few little things that have been identified, such as the water prob, and that pesky control remapping thing, related to the import of old flightengine and aircraftobjectini apparently Other than that we had the water-shimmering issue (solved) and the sea level issie (solved). Somenting little as aiplanes canopies not working as highlift devices, but this is solved as well. The ground radars to be added, but this is not a problem. As I see it, upgrading it is more, at the moment an exercise of patience to upgrade each file, but is a no brainer. heck, we also fixed the compatibilty with older terrain from SFP. My case is bad becasue of a massive "all and everything" install whish is coming along nicely. . but localized install, such as Falkland, and WOV, work incredably well. FM's will be updated sooner or later, and I have to say so far what I tried works decently and realistically. The feeling I get is that underpowered planes are underpowered in the game. You really ahve to plan ahead and think attack patterns for mud moving, and dogfight moves. An F-104 pilot that I know commented on the stall characteristics of the F-104 as very realisitic. The good things of this patch are too good to pass. It is a whole new game. You need a little patient, read the forums, try, experiment. But it does work. Really well. At this point, I have only one complaint, and you all know what is it, but other than that, this is terrific, including little touches such as AAA escorting Tank formations...
  16. FC, have you tried this in the Range in a patched install of WOE? I can't find the tselina at all. Everything should be correct. Edit; tried in israel as well, no joy. What am I doing worng?

  19. Haven't tried Aircraft carriers yet with 2.0 setting, that is a valid oncern. Wrench, please answer to this, because I really can't get this. The setting 2.0 and the black hm.bmp have the same effect? As I wrote before 2.0 seems to work, in my install WITHOUT the black hm.bmp. And if you have a second to post them the blackeend desert hm.bmp set would be really nice thanks, because it would be much easier to drop such files in the folder than editing data file by data files.

Answer: depends on the cat you are poining at. Question number two: And painting them black has the same result that putting the 2.0 setting? Answer (?????): I think painting them is maybe redundant. ASW and libya that use desert conventions are fine with the 2.0 height setting, or so it seems, what do you think, Kevin?

    Sono stato tra i primi a dire "porca patch" e "non mi interessa" Ora complice una situazione che mi lascia molto tempo libero, mi sono lanciato nell'upgrade. Posso dirvi che ne vale la pena. Le caratteristiche aggiunte sono molte, e il gioco è molto migliorato. Ci sono MOLTE più opzioni, anche in termini di campaign design. I modelli di volo sono molti migliorati. Si sente tantissimo la differenza dei carichi esterni per esempio. E' modellato l'overg. Testando il 339 , gli ho strappato le ali. Nelle campagne ci sono ora anche le missioni armed recon. funziona benissimo su vista. Sul mio portatile, cin i dettagli al massimo (misero pavilion DV7 1020 con nvidia 9600) gira molto bene Certo il retrofit è terribile. I miei install di Wov e Falkland sonos tati semplic eperchè limitati. Il mio super isntall da 32 gig sta prendendo un pò di tempo, ma a parte un paio di problemi cmq risolti, è più una cosa meccanica che un rompicapo. Ripeto le opzioni di modding e di divertimento che questa patch apre sono pressochè INFINITE. Il confronto con LOMAC e Falcon4 sono gusti personali. Nel suo genere la serie 3rdwire ha fatto un salto quantico con questa patch Piccole cose (come il mod, unseplicissimo ini edit per simulare il movimento della testa sotto carico di g, ed in virata) e grandi cose, come la nuova AI che ingaggia BVR, e la colossale moddabilità. Ne vale davvero la pena

  23. I think it does work on ASW as well. I am in the process of patching "the one and everything install" It is LONG process, thankfully has happened in days of rain, with overcrewed airplanes and wife away. Otherwise I could not dedicate 8 hrs a day to patching. The shore of Nas corpus christi; please not I am using a very old desert repainf from deuces, that I like a lot, for all the "desert" based terrains. It comes whitout animated water, but the edit I made works on the animated waters as well, in the least so it did in Libya
