With the low setting sun, Erpr.Gr.210 dont find the escorting JG 52 and continued always a low altitude to London area. The Gruppe made a long approach by the north and began the attack, but they mistook Croydon with Kenley. The long approach give to the RAF, enough time to intercept and two Hurricanes squadrons(No.32 and No.111 Sqn)were converging to the Kenley area. The attack cause moderate damage to Kenley and then Gruppenkommandeur, Hptm Rubensdorffer, ordered the retreat. But that was too late. Hi: A small question about the Stab in each Jagdgeschwader(Kommodore flight). There is a Stab flight for each Gruppe, Stab I, Stab II and Stab III. That mean 36 aircrafts for each Gruppe(3 staffels each)and 4 aircraft more for the Stab, 40 in total. Three Gruppen, including the three Stabs:120 aircrafts(in paper of course) Then, and here come the question: there are still four aircrafts more for the Geschwader Stab? About the ID numbers. very rarely see highers as 14(Battle of Britain periode) Thanks

regula50 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - World War II Forum
Hi I have try to fly today this two aircrafts but both dont carry guns(Mg 17mm or 20mm cannon). The drop tank for the E-7 is there but nothing other. In the game when I select the option come the display: "No weapons". To check if all is OK in the Sim, I have select one Spitfire and the weapons were shown as expected. Need this Messerschmitts a special weapons extra package? Thanks -

AIM-9B or R-3S proximity contact fuze
regula50 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Hi Reading some technical information about AIM-9B or R-3S I have finded this one: " The AIM-9A/B used a 4.5 kg (10 lb) blast-fragmentation warhead. This was triggered by an IR proximity or contact fuze, and had an effective kill radius of about 9 m (30 ft)." Well, the point if we check this value with the weapon data from both missiles, the fuze is noted with 0.5m. I am not sure if this parameter is related with the effective kill radius or is something other. Thanks -

Solved Mark. Thanks. The installation of the NGlide 105 solved all issues and Eaw run now much better. Others small graphics issues were also all fixed with this programme.

Hi Mark: My EAW 1.28 work very good but I have a problem with the Graphics, or maybe is only a thing of settings. The smoke effects or the condensation stream in altitude are "squared" , that mean the plume of smoke consisted in a serie of small squared no so nice to see. My system is Windows 10, but the game(1.28) is set in compatibility mode for Windows 7 and run as administrador. The graphic card is a Intel HD 530(4096 MB)(Graphic unit integrated with memory partaged). Thanks

Programe and Armor protection(steel-aluminum)

I have a question about the armor by the aircrafts. If I have: [AftCockpitFuelCell] SystemType=FUEL_TANK FuelTankID=1 MaxFuelAmount=1500.00 SelfHealing=TRUE FireSuppression=TRUE MinExtentPosition=-0.27,0.78,-0.04 MaxExtentPosition= 0.27,2.18, 1.03 HasArmor=TRUE ArmorMaterial=Aluminum Armor[REAR].Thickness=8 Armor .Thickness=7 Armor .Thickness=7 Armor[TOP].Thickness=7 Armor[bOTTOM].Thickness=7 or [AftCockpitFuelCell] SystemType=FUEL_TANK FuelTankID=1 MaxFuelAmount=1500.00 SelfHealing=TRUE FireSuppression=TRUE MinExtentPosition=-0.27,0.78,-0.04 MaxExtentPosition= 0.27,2.18, 1.03 HasArmor=TRUE ArmorMaterial=STEEL Armor[REAR].Thickness=8 Armor .Thickness=7 Armor .Thickness=7 Armor[TOP].Thickness=7 Armor[bOTTOM].Thickness=7 With same values, the programe make the difference about this two materials, resistance, weight, etc or the word is only a cosmetic convention? Of course, is clear that one piece of steel is a lot much more heavy that a equivalent in aluminum. -

Need Experts help with F-86s in Europe
regula50 replied to Geary's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Expanding the deployment data. Most of the F-86Fs were gone by the end of 1956 and replaced with F-100s. Exception, the France based units, lasted sometime more and replaced by early 1958.
