  1. So I went into Hyperlobby last night with some friends to teach them some A2A with WoV. Pretty soon some joker comes in and just hangs around the spawn point and engages anyone who comes in. No wonder the Hyperlobby server is dead most of the time. If you have to bushwhack a player to make yourself feel good and then you seriously need to get L***! I think from now on we'll set up Hamachi, to bad but I like to fight against a skilled opponent not some one has no class or style. Come to think of it, this was why I stopped using Strike Fighters online.
  2. Solved the Hyperlobby problem, installed Hamachi and run my own missions. I have a group of friends that's been flying FS9 together for years, now we are starting with the Strike Fighters family. The game of choice is Wov, stock install for now, since it should compliment the Viet Nam mod for CFS2 that's in the works. Any changes to the game that we make will be posted on our FS9 server site, PM me for the link. If you want to fly with us PM me, but since Hamachi and Co-Op slots are limited PM me for the server name and Password. We use TS to co-ordinate and I'll include the TS IP in my reply. I look forward to flying with some of the guy's from the Bio-Haz days.
  3. No RHAW Warning....

As soon as I hear the warning tone I look at the RHWR to get an idea of the fire control radar. I almost never turn on the music until I'm sure the SAM is headed my way. Thats when the jammer comes on and I unload and go for the deck. I then change height and make sharp heading changes, that keeps me alive 95% of the time. Remember, chaff and flares only work on a particular type of seeker, always hit both, and pray.
  4. Got a new hard drive to store my games and a new X52 to fly. Since I've not played this series in a looooong time what are the must haves other than the Bunyap's weapons pack? I've got WoV installed right now and I'm trying to find Strike Fighters. I know I should look around in the post's but I'd rather hear from some of the old Bio Hazard guys as to what they recommend. And Anthony, as soon as I get my install squared away better check your six
  5. KB, IYAOYAS! Glad to be back, have a whole slew of new pilots for the series also. Here's an update, re-installed the original Strike Fighters and installed WoE. Both are patched to oct 08 so I'm ready to install any thing else other than what Dave already posted. After a few years of MSFS it's good to blow the hell out of something
  6. Welcome Home EricJ

    Welcome home
  7. Thanks Dave, getting as much as I can over the next few days. Got some of my friends from the MSFS Server I help run started on WoV and Strike Fighters.
  8. Okay Dave, WoV is installed and patched to Oct'08, what should I add to it? And Sparko, it's nice to be missed but I don't save the world anymore, I let my son the Marine do that.
  9. The Person Below Me

False Just because they looked like my ex don't mean anything, that's why light switches were made. I'm an Ordnanceman, if it's female I'll hit it. The person below me WAS turned down by his ex.
  10. The Person Below Me

False, I live in 1985 and carry a cell phone weighing one pound The person below me secretly wants to be in the forthcoming Strike Fighters anime.
  11. A WW2 flight sim for the PC

A lot of guys I know play Il-2 it's successors. I'm not into WWII flight sims anymore but I know that this is one of the best out there.
  12. Well, if you have pilots then you'll need support, like McCoy's character, the unit supply master. Charles "The Clown" Mostelleto Age; 40 something Experience; Ran with an Itailian-American street gang from age 11 to age 17 US Navy as an Aircrewman in the "Brown Water Navy" where he found his calling as the go to guy for the unit, you need it, he'll find it. Fence for certain Families on the East Coast American of Italian descent, at 17 the judge gave him his choice, 4 years in the military or 10 years in prison. Spent 22 years in the Navy, with several tours in a certain area of SE Asia doing God knows what. After his retirement he found little work other than "Family" business. A friend told him that his talents as a scrounger and fence could be put to good use in Dhimar. He is in charge of the Supply concession and while the pilots complain they know that he could and sometimes does charge more. He got his nickname The Clown in the Navy for his weird sense of humor and awful practical jokes. Has connections to certain "Alphabet" agencies from his days in the service and to crime syndicates through his family ties. While no longer a criminal himself he's proud of where he came from. If you need a new bird, fuel,or toilet paper, The Clown is the one to see. Also for the right price he can get intel for the next operation or the background on anyone in the Merc ranks, though this is done for a high price and the reason had better be good. While he never married he has several lady friends that he see's on his "shopping trips" for operational supplies. His one true joy is however the station's only Huey helicopter, every spare moment is spent on it like a 16 year old with his first car. His training as a crewman is sometimes put to use looking for a downed merc, mostly because the guy owes him money, he complains that he's to old for this stuff but deep down he knows that this what he'll be doing to his last breath.
  13. I think that Dave should be included, I picture him standing around looking bored with a coffee cup in one hand and his other hand poised over the button (BAN).
  14. Interesting Email

I got a call from my best friend the other night telling me to check my email and to make plans for March. In my in box I found this... The HCS-5 Firehawk Association cordially invites you to attend our first HCS Reunion 19-22 March 2009, San Diego, CA HCS(4/5), HAL(3/4/5) and HSC-84 ALL WELCOME! I'm putting this out so that if you know or are a Seawolf, Redwolf, Bluehawk or Firehawk let them know about this. PM me and I'll pass on the info. This is in conjuction with HSC-85's CoC, both the outgoing and incoming skippers are Firehawks so this gathering should be good.
  15. http://www.dmflightsim.co.uk/default.htm And just who is this "Strike" person?
  16. Some shots of part of my FS9 collection. I have more planes than time to fly them all. Okay so this one's not a plane, it's still fun to drive in California water ways. BAC 1-11 at KSAN A-6 catshot
  17. Random Thought In A Scattered Mind

This popped into my head today at work, writing down todays date, 12 DEC 08, I had a memory from my days as a Roof Rat. In 1980 I had to refuel an EA-3D for that days flight. The fuel point is in the left main mount bay and I had to climb inside to get to it. With nothing to do as the Whale took it's 20k+ pounds of fuel I read the builders plate, date of acceptance 12 DEC 59. I was working on a bird six months older than me. For some reason that old Skywarrior came to mind today, I hope it's enjoying a retirement in a museum or a air stations "petting zoo". Nothing important like I said just a random thought.
  18. JASDF HH-60 near Gofu Same bird at Komatsu US Navy CH-53 on the USS Enterprise And inbound to NAS North Island The birds and CVN are Alpha Sim products, I might post some other shots later.
  19. Betty Page died 12-11-2008

Anyone know that she just up and quit posing and faded away not knowing the impact she had made on pop culture? It wasn't till she was tracked down in one of those "where are they now?' shows did she realise how (in)famous she was. Look her up in Wikipedia and see some of the songs, comics, and characters she inspired. I have some pics of her but I don't need Dave to warn me about "content", lets just say her beauty's immortal.
  20. multiple installs?

I know it's possible in FS9, unfortunately the instructions were posted at SimOuthouse and were lost when their server crashed. I don't know about CFS3 but it might be doable. If I can find the set up instructions for FS9 I'll post them here and for you.
  21. Remember Pearl Harbor

My family will always remember. I've only been to Pearl Harbor once,in 1996, but stayed on Ford Island for 30 days. In that time my shipmates and I got a good long look at the base. The scars are still there, you just have to look a lot harder nowadays. <S>
  22. The Person Below Me

False, I've used one to drink beer before. The Person below me thinks a BRU is something to drink.
  23. I MADE E-5 YAAAAAYYY!

BZ and IYAOAYAS Well done AT2, Second class is the best paygrade to learn how to manage and lead. I loved being an AO2, if I felt like getting dirty I could, if I felt like making someone else get dirty I would. Just remember, a good Second Class is worth his weight in Chief's. Seeing young folks like you step up lets me know Our Navy is in good hands.
  24. Ex-Payware

Alpha Sim has released some of their payware to the major download sites a couple of weeks ago. It also seems they learned a lesson from DSB as all these are "full up" files, panel/sound included. Not like the old days when they stripped out the panel and VC then aliased everything to a default plane. AVSIM is probably the best place to find these. Check Alpha Sims website for a list of whats available.
  25. Something For Halloween

Call me twisted, this is funny.....
