I don't mind going back to work, the doc gave me the option of staying out for another week but I know how badly behind my co-workers are at the moment so for me it's a no brainer. I did manage to get some WoV time in and finish one of my model projects. I am very lucky to work at a first rate medical center and made a lot of friends over the past 23 years. That ensured that I was not seen as just a patient but a "family" member. I was blown away by how many co-workers found an excuse to pop in to see how I was doing. This ran from the housekeepers and engineers to a couple of department heads in the medical side of the house. When I get back the staff on that floor will be getting priority service from my department for quite a while. As for everything else, I plan on keeping to my new diet as much as I can, seeing my daughters and grandchildren worry like they have been is enough motivation to stay healthy for them. That and hearing my son the Marine's voice crack because he can't get home to see me because of an upcoming Det was too much. I guess my kids seem to need me to be around for a while longer.

Sorry to say that I tried several flights with different loadouts and could not replicate your fault. I suggest that you check the DATA Ini and LOADOUT ini's in all your Tornado downloads. You should see entries for weapons stations, check and make sure you see the word "BOMB" in the majority of the entries. I would try to delve deeper but I am on a medical leave at the moment and I am prone to exhaustion if I'm out of bed for an extended period of time. -
I wish all my friends at CA a late Happy New Year. These last two weeks have been very trying for me having first kidney stones and then the flu over Xmas and then instead of getting better I began to feel worse. Last Thursday I went to see the doc and was told to get to the hospital and check in. I had been in renal failure for the last week and a half. Long story short, spent Thursday to Monday in hospital hooked up to an IV as they pumped in fluids and antibiotics. I lost 10 pounds in 4 days, not a diet I would recommend, and finally got my appetite back yesterday. So.... I'm medically off work for the rest of the week, will take another week for vacation to ensure I'm fully recovered and then back to the grind. Lots of doctors in the near future and my diet has now changed to a low (none) salt renal diet, absolutely no flavor at all and hoping that no permanent damage was done to my kidneys. The doc said that I had no visible stones or blockages in the unltrasound but I'll still need a CT to be sure. Hope everyone had a good New Year that was not as eventful as mine. One more thing, my grand daughter hid when my oldest brought the kids up to see me. According to her I was not her Poppa, since Poppa never gets sick.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm off work until the doc clears me, I have lots of doctor visits and test for the near future. What is bothering us is that it was a blood infection that started all this, working in a hospital I'm very careful about hand washing and such so for this to slip by it's aggravating. I was told that one more day without treatment and it would have been more difficult to stop the infection and kidney failure. I lucked out this time, my employer is a teaching hospital that has some real cutting edge treatments. Add to the fact that I've been here for 23 years so the really senior doc's and staff have known me for years meant that I got really good care. I just don't know at this point in time how much damage has been done and what my long term prognosis is going to be. I'm having to take everything day by day right now and I am climbing the walls. I'll keep you all up to date on this so thanks for putting up with this thread. Nesher, I plan on wishing you a happy Chanukah at the end of the year my friend, count on it.

I think that he was giving than you in advance, no need to get your knickers in a twist as one of my ex girlfriends used to say. As far as your mutual problem goes, do you at least get a CCIP in the HUD? A screenshot can be of use also, just make sure you have a target designated that you could use an dumb bomb on so we can see if we can find the fault. Since the hour is late right now I will try to see if I have the same trouble. Mind you I have a boatload of aircraft and mods installed so it might take the weekend to sort it out. Did you use the search function on the forum to see if this has been posted before? I recall seeing this a while back but since I did not have the problem at the time I skipped over that post. A word of advice, use the Knowledge Base and Search function, we are a patient but twisted lot but the tone of you posts here can be misconstrued, however we do understand your frustration as we have had the same troubles as you. -
Kind of like giving a naked Barbie doll to your worst enemy, it's not the toy but the clothes that will bankrupt you. Sounds like a good idea, if they can make a monetary return doing this hopefully some other airframes will be in the pipeline.

Weapons problem "<empty>"
firehawkordy replied to irati's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Try arming up you AI planes in the loadout screen, that should solve your problem in the short term. You may have to do a complete install in the long run, it may be a pain but you may have missed a step the first time around. -
Got this the other day and I'm having fun blowing s**t up. Not as good as Strike Fighters but makes for some interesting flights. Learned how to tweek the XML so my OH-6 has an M-134 installed and not a 60. Did't take too long to figure out the rate of fire entries as well as bumping up the bullets from 200 to 1200 rounds as well as getting the thing to sound right, had to use the gattling sound file from the Nemeth UH-1C. The program is picky about the sound files you use, I tried using some files made for CFS2 so I could get a good sounding .50 and the damn thing wouldn't shoot. I guess I'll try pointing the program to a different sound folder. One of the best things about this addon is that on the Capt Sim site there is a file that let's you use the weapon addons made a few years ago WITHOUT having to jump through hoops to have ordnance on your military planes. Just makes the range by NAS Fallon a little more real.

Since Storm is looking for repaints for the CoNA I thought I'd post the link to this one..... http://marksfsrepaints.jimdo.com/flyable-downloads/ Middle of the page is a VX-30 Bloodhound bird in painted like a Douglas Dauntless. It's for the Iris S-3 and I think it will work in X since the bird itself has been ported over but I can't guarantee it. There are also some nice paints for AI but those are for FS9. Hope this helps you in your hunt, too bad no one has done KBT's P-3 in a CoNA scheme I got a real close look at the real bird and talk to the crew at NAS NI, they were real proud of the job that was done on it.

How About This For Nose Art?
firehawkordy posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
Not looking for a paint job like the Idol Master Project but some nose art of Haruhi and Asahina. Here's what I did for Flight Sim but I'm not too sure that I can master repaints for TW aircraft. -
The problem with a "suggested" anything to the airlines is that it won't be implemented until a Jumbo Jet gets shot down or has a near miss, then all of a sudden it will "become" a big "concern" to the carriers. It seems that in the US at least any safety suggestion is first paid for by the blood of the passengers. Oh and speed of implementation is based on size of the plane and total passengers killed.

The Wiki link changes things a bit, thought it was a remake as that kind of non-creative garbage has taken over movies and TV so much anything original hardly sees the light of day.

Maybe I'll check it out this weekend. Still prefer the original, the shoot out in Chinatown was one of the best from the 70's

When I was in the Navy I shot every quarter, since my retirement it's like every 12-18 months. That said, a friend and I hit the range today and shot four different weapons with three different calibers. I am happy to say that all but 2 rounds hit the aim point and I was able to hold a decent group. Tomorrow I head to my Godfather's place to do PM's on some of his weapons. I may not be a full time AO these days but I still get to put my skills to use a few times a year.

Military vs. Civilian Friends CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Tell you not to do something stupid when drunk MILITARY FRIENDS: Will post 360 security so you don't get caught. CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Hope the night out drinking goes smoothly, and hope that no one is late for the ride home. MILITARY FRIENDS: Know some wild stuff will happen, and set up rally points and an E & E route. ... CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Bail you out of jail and tell you what you did was wrong. MILITARY FRIENDS: Will be sitting next to you saying, Damn...we f**ked up...but hey, that was fun!" CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Borrow your stuff for a few days then give it back. MILITARY FRIENDS: Steal each other's stuff so often nobody remembers who bought it in the first place. CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Will listen to your relationship problems and hope it works out for you. MILITARY FRIENDS: Will listen to you over a long hard road march, and will help you straighten it out better than Dr. Phil. CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Know a few things about you. MILITARY FRIENDS: Could write a book with direct quotes from you. CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Might try to hit on your boy/girl behind your back. MILITARY FRIENDS: Have spooned with you in the field more than your boy/girl has, and would never even think about doing that. CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Would knock on your door. MILITARY FRIENDS: Walk right in and say, "I'm home!" CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Will wish you had enough money to go out that night, and are sorry you couldn't come. MILITARY FRIENDS: Will share their last dollar with you, drag you along, and try to work free drinks all night. CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Want the money they loaned you back next week. MILITARY FRIENDS: Can't begin to remember who owes who money after taking care of each other for so long. CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Will tell you "They'd take a bullet for you." MILITARY FRIENDS: Will actually take a bullet for you.

We, HCS-5, had to give up our M1911's around the came time but we picked up the SiG P-226 instead of the M92. At the time of my retirement we still had M-14s in our inventory along with the M-60s. That was the best part of being aligned with SpecWar, we had enough of everything to suit the tastes of our personnel. My preferred weapons were the M-14 and the .45 as side arm in a custom shoulder rig. I had that holster for years and the command never said I could not use it, hell, they didn't say I could use it for that matter. If I could not carry the M-14 I would use a Mossburg 500 12gauge. That will get someones attention. Now days I have a Ruger 10-22 Magnum that suits me fine. It's light and well made and fires .22 Magnum hollow point. With the bi-pod I just mounted it is very, very accurate at 20- 150+ meters. The only thing I miss at the range from my Navy days is the guys I would normally shoot with. One day I think I'm going to get everyone together and have a reunion on one of the local ranges.

Try this..... http://www.flight1software.com/files/FS_Registry_Repair.exe Description.... This tool will repair your FSX or FS9 registry so that the path is valid. Many times certain applications use this path. If it is invalid, some programs may not work. If that doesn't work run CCleaner, it has a registry cleaner and it's free, I have it installed and use it with no problems. Word of advice, I would stay away from Pirate Bay, no telling what you get along with your "free" download. Besides that, it's the reason that A) software prices keep going because the devs can't get a return on their work B) it's the reason some devs have closed shop

Can I Change Effects
firehawkordy replied to DEVIL11's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Look in the down load section, I think Stary and a few others did effects packages a while back and posted them there. I know that I have a few if not all installed and they look better than the default settings. At least I can see the flash of the warhead when I use an A2A missile and it hits the target. If those aren't what you want, yes you can do changes yourself, just find the appropriate tutorials and ask questions in the right board. -
I got that when it first came out and got pissed when I found out it was for FSX. I installed it once I got X and had no trouble getting it started, you have read the manual. I also don't have any patches and it runs fine. I did make a copy of the manual for use as a checklist. If you want I can zip up the manual and checklist and send them to you. It is really a good bird but it is manual and checklist driven.

Today I saw the names of several Shipmates on the Navy Chief Selectee List, that list is a two edge sword for me. On the one edge, the month after I put in my retirement papers I found that I had passed the Chief's exam on the first try but I will never know if I could have been a good Chief. On the flip side, the young Sailors that I trained over the years as a First or Second Class PO now wear the Fouled Anchor of a CPO. If there was ever a measure of a man's success, I think that this would be it, my young troops are now the backbone of the Navy. Congrats to all of this years new CPO's, may you all have at least one evil, mean, and nasty Bastard PO1 to keep you out of trouble and keep your troops in top form. Remember, a good Chief trusts his First and Second classes, gives his Third Class Petty Officers the chances and support they need to prove themselves and makes sure his E-3 and below are properly groomed for their Crows. A good Chief also knows when to leave shop discipline to the shop and never, ever, ask where something came from. Trust me, you don't want to know. BRAVO ZULU to you all
