From what I played in the demo OFP has nothing to worry about.lol Honestly the only cool feature was being able to customize my soldier, other than that OFP still rains supreme after 3 years of service. I think the only thing I really have to look forward to is to see what happens with OFP2

Check out www.gametrailers.com for a new demo movie for this. Truly amazing. The guy playing is clueless about tactics, but the graphics and AI look really good.

Post Your V1.02 Thoughts Here

online or offline Growler?? If this occurs online then I assure you that someone in your server is trying to connect with the wrong settings. There might not be anything you can do about it on your end except look for a server with folks using the correct settings. For what it's worth I cant get into a online game now days without spending the first ten minutes doing tech support because folks just dont want to use the correct settings, or they just dont know about them. Whats your system specs Growler and situation where this slowdown occurs and I will try and help. -

It wasn't a mem leak, it was someone not connecting at the right connection setting. The same situation was occuring in beta testing as well and each time it was corrected by everyone adjusting thier connection settings properly. If one person enters a server using 33.6 on a cable connection when they should be using at least 128/128 it will bring the server to it's knees. -
Help with the RWR please
Snacky replied to GhostDog's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
GD, will try to find the info your looking for. I'm not an A10 expert and the RWR in the Lomac A10 may only be 99% to the real world A10 RWR. It's my guess that ED made the change to help take some of the confusion out of it. -
Ya know I have blown up a few tonka trucks in my day, but I have seen some stupid kids (and adults for that matter) do some pretty stupid things with fireworks. I will admit seeing a cat running across the yard with a sprkler in it's butt is pretty funny though.LOL

Hey! That's great, how did you learn about that one???!! Now all we need is the ability to change load-outs during a mutli-flight mission tasking. It's in the readme.lol We keep having to tell people to read the readme, but nobody wants to.LOL We hope the reapir feature helps for teamplay online -

I realize too late now, but you could have saved your joystick ini and just dropped it in after you patched. ;) -
Clickable Cockpit? + Lots Of Pics
Snacky replied to Nesher's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Same boat here. Too much to do and with TIR I would never find the button anyway.lol In all honesty I know it's a feature some folks really like and whether or not it is realistic is a whole other debate, but it would take a huge amount of work to add clickable pits to Lomac so if (big if) it did happen it would be in a new product. This came from ED to the beta team when we placed clickable pits in our wish list.lol -
Clickable Cockpit? + Lots Of Pics
Snacky replied to Nesher's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
There will be no clickable cockpits in Lomac. The only chance for a clickable pit is if it is a design goal in a future product. -

Beta 20 ... And Counting
Snacky replied to GhostDog's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Just because I work on the beta team does not mean I am required to swallow abuse from folks on these forums. It doesn't work that way. There is a difference between having an opinion and insulting someone or questioning thier integrity. -
Yet Another Update
Snacky replied to GhostDog's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
@GhostDog, np. Theres been a lot of this "The mods are opressing us" talk lately and I just thought I would explain why (although probably obvious the reasons why to some of you). @336tfs, I'll take that under advisement. Thank you for your constructive criticism and feel free to provide any further feedback in the future. Have a nice day -
Love him or hate him you can't deny that he changed this world forever.

Yet Another Update
Snacky replied to GhostDog's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Ghost Dog, FYI the update threads are locked so the jerks can't hijack them and force them to be deleted as were other update threads in the past. This way it's a sticky thread and there for those to read without having to sift through the garbage. -
Beta 20 ... And Counting

I'm sorry you feel that I was aiming that at you. In the interest of not starting a flame war I didn't mention the couple of names over there w/the overzealous moderator attitudes. All you have to do is go over there and look at the moderation. Some are better than others. Dayglow for instance moderates fairly w/out being a flaming asshole. On the other side of the coin a couple have let the beta testing go to their heads and have become self-important'. Having had plenty of contact w/these people before their testing began I speak from experience. While I won't give out any names you really have to wonder about a mod whose title is "Destroyer of Threads". BTW, I tried the PM route to try to talk that mod down out of the tower, it did no good. Your problem with Moses is your problem. If you expect to be able to go into a private chat and force him to see something your way then your wrong. When you make a general statement like you did then I will be offended because I am a beta tester as well as a Mod over there. I have been a long time member here at Jeff's site and out of respect for him I will not argue with you about it any further, but I am not going to visit some of my favorite sites and see my name and the names of my friends drug through the mud. The moderators are told to police those forums a certain way and if you don't like it then don't go there. It's pretty simple. btw- Your experience? Who are you to judge me or anyone else for the decisions we make? You don't know me, you don't know anything about me. You also don't know anything about the rest of the guys I work with daily so who are you to say "It is my experience" when talking about us? You don't! Sorry Jeff, just really hot right now. -

We bust our asses trying to test every little thing we can think of so that ED can fix what needs to be fixed and this patch can be released the right way. It would be so easy to be a "yes-man" and tell ED that everything is freakin peachy and to release the patch. You think I like staying up till 3am looking at freakin training missions or spending every minute of free time (and sometimes time away from my family) to sit there and fly the same mission over and over again to make sure a SA6 site is working properly? It's easy to criticize when you sit on the outside looking in, trust me I know I used to be just like some of you who are clueless, but then I was given the opportunity to see the inner workings of testing and programming and it's nothing like I thought it would be. You folks have no idea how much work goes into something like this (patch process), but yet you sit there and call us names, send rude emails, messege threats, etc. I actually got a personal messege on Hyperlobby the other night before going into a session telling me that the beta testers were trying to find bugs to hold up the patch because we dont want it released to the public. The end of the messege said "stop nitpicking the bugs and release it or else we will hack into your PC." I am not a Yes-Man for anybody RuggButt. -
Beta 20 ... And Counting
Snacky replied to GhostDog's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
LOL here we go again. You gotta love speculation, it fuels the drama. btw- your speculations on future plans are wrong. ED is not stopping work on Lomac. Actually the future of Lomac looks pretty good, but I suspect the naysayers will always be looking for the glass half empty. -
Been hangin out at the E club with all the AO's wives.lol :D ok bad joke.lol Seriously, just been busy trying to get this 1.02 patch out for Lomac. I thought being on the beta team would be fun, but as with anything like this it's a whole different story once you get into it. It can still be fun, but it's a lot of work at the same time. Throw in mod duties at the jungle we like to call the Ubi foums and it makes for some fun times.lol I make new enemies everyday so it's cool.lol Glad to see you guys still kicken though. ;)
