We are waiting for the Ubi testers in Canada to start thier internal testing on Monday. If all goes well we could see the patch soon after that (a matter of days). Of course anything could happen and the guys in Russia could send another build to test, we don't know until they send out a new build as to whether or not we have one. I can say that nothing else is being added at this point in the builds and what tweaking that does occur is being done to finalize the patch. I will try to float an update this way if anything wierd happens, but for now just keep your fingers crossed.

Lomac will be a different sim after the release of 1.02. Every build ED sends us has something new to explore and to see it all finally come together is really cool. We can post screenshots and talk about the features, but to really appreciate all the work that has been done you have to experience it first hand. Soon folks

Got 9 out of 10 on Challenge #1 so not too bad I guess. Only had a problem with Distant Mig21 shot, I called it a SU7.lol

At what point in his comments did you see where he said that this patch was grounded. Matt and Carl may be at E3, but rest assured the rest of us are busting our butts trying to get this done. With every beta build we get closer and closer to a final release, but with all the features and fixes ED have put into 1.02 it takes time to get things together. Nobody wants a halfassed patch so be patient.

My Thoughts? Well as a member of the beta team I can without a doubt say that 1.02 will be worth the wait and I couldn't imagine going back to 1.01 again. Here is just one small example which changes gameplay. Forgive me 56kers but in order to show the detail I didn't want to resize it. Notice at 14+nm I can see a spec representing my bandit? That's a SU27 folks and I can see him 14nm away. View distance has been increased two fold and not just for A/A targets, but also for A/G objects and it's so much fun rolling in with the A10 and being able to visually ID a target, have your buddy throw smoke and mark the target, then roll in and loft toss a MK84 right on a tank. I don't mean to sound like I'm rubbing it in, but I can't wait until everyone is able to enjoy this new patch. just be patient, it's real close.

We are beta testing version 12 right now and have spent Approx 12 hours a day testing during the weekends. Trust me folks you dont want to jump ship just yet because if you do you will miss out. Went to a family get together in North Carolina a couple of weeks ago and decided to take a few days to travel around. Spent a day in the Smokey Mountains and then drove down to Charleston SC and Patriots Bay to see the USS Yorktown and other ships at the museum. Here are a few pics. I have more I will post later. The Yorktown was really nice and although smaller than Carriers I have been on in the Navy the history of this ship was something special. There was alos a Viet Nam museum setup with an authentic firebase setup complete with Hueys,etc. When you walk in you feel like your really in a camp in southeast asia. This is a shot from the bow of the Yorktown on cat#2. You can still see the wood deck of the ship and its not in great shape, but they are currently trying to restore her. I thought this was an actual simulator until me and the Mrs stepped inside and found out its just a movie. :( I was hoping to get some stick time too.lol Here is a view from aft of the Yorktown while we toured a USCG cutter also at the dock USS CLAMAGORE was commissioned on June 28, 1945, as the war in the Pacific was drawing to a close. Based at Charleston for much of her career, she cruised Atlantic and Mediterranean waters for nearly thirty years, including critical patrols at the height of the Cuban missile crisis in 1962. Twice modified from her original World War II configuration, Clamagore continued in service as one of the U. S. Navy's last diesel-powered submarines until decommissioned in 1975. Also the sub rests on the soft bottom and will list to one side during low tide so it makes it interesting when walking through narrow passageways and leaning off the walls.lol If you get a chance to visit Charlseton and see Patriots bay I highly recommend it. You can literally spend the whole day looking around at all the ships,aircraft, and taking the different tours. The Yorktown tours alone took 5 hours if you take all 8 of them. I think I knew more about the flight deck that the tour guide though, but since he was wearing a flight suit (didnt look a day over 22) everyone paid attention.lol I would just whisper to my wife all the stuff he got wrong.lol Cant help it, Im a stickler about it. :)

Our thoughts are with you PCPilot and the brave firefighters out there. We had a rash of fires here in Central Florida a couple of years ago and although it was nothing like what you guys are going through I can remember how the smell was in the air and the smoke was on everything for weeks. Eventually you guys will get this under control, but whoever started this mess deserves the death penalty IMO. They say its Arson.

I was a long time Nvidia user until switching to the radeon last year. I give the Radeon 9700 or 9800 my full endorsement. I'm a big fan of visual quality and the color depth and FSAA of the radeon cards are unmatched by even the FX series. I'm sure the FX is a nice card (I owned GF2-GF4 series) but if your looking for the best visual quality and FSAA you have to go with ATI. IMHO btw- if you do take a look at benchmarks you will see that the radeon 9800 actually out performs the newer 9600 fx cards. I dont pay a whole lot of attention to benchmarks, but they do give a general idea of what can do what.

whats even worse is some airman somewhere is looking for a can of jetwash as we speak because some chief is welcoming him to the boat.LOL

I am going to be putting my cougar up for sale on ebay in the next couple of days. Its a year old and in good shape. There is a little bit of center play in the stick, but other than that its in real good shape. no scratches,etc It would make a good mod cougar for someone. It was a gift last Christmas, but I had my heart set on a CH setup. I will probably set the starting price at $200 and see how it goes. Figured I would post this here to give a heads up in case anyone was shopping for a used one.

I think when you reference "other forums" and comments like "Dead Horse" which are used by other strict moderators it makes it seem as though we (members) are not trusted to maintain a thread such as this one. Nobody has gotten out of line nore done anything to even provoke a warning from a moderator. Moderate by the rules of this board not by what you see on others (just my advice not that it matters). Actually this thread probably would have just faded away after everyone got thier 2 cents in, but as soon as you throw in a warning we start to feel like we are one of those other forums. Just relax, everyone here knows how to act, and lets leave the babysitting to the simHQ crowd. :) I mean this with the utmost respect to you as a mod of course. ;)

I wish Tampa could have gotten Emitt Smith, but I think he may retire after this season.
