Hello everyone! F-102 and F-106 are now completed for revisiting and fixing what needs fixing. I want to share the improvement I have done with the F-106 Six Shooter based on wonderful works of Paulopanz and DTMDragon! Turned the optical sight into higher resolution: It was a bit chalenging to score a hit on MiGs due to frame on front of cockpit. However, still managed to shoot down MiG-17! For optional accessibility, this design is based on early LOCSS of F-4D, loved it! You can see square appearing on top of fixed sight. The empty square shows that you have radar lock, however the weapon still do not have lock on target nor is in teh range yet. When the AAMs have a lock or when target is in AAM's range, the ssquare turns solid. Eagle114th -

Hello everyone! Yesterday and today have been very productive day working on revisiting and fixing any thing I find that needs fixing AD / A-1 Skyraider, F-86 Sabre / Sabre Dog, andd F-89s. I am very happy with the results, after updating them to the latest sttandard of waht I have learned so far with this projects: 1) for non-HUD version (optical sight, such as A-4, F-4, etc..), for nav modfe, the opticla sight is turend off 2) By toggling the sight mode to AA or AG, will always turn it on, especailly if switching to gun mode for specific aircdraft, will enable the gyro computing sight, such as F-4 / F-8 / F-86 / etc... 3) Adding the missing aircraft , such as A-4M, A-4N, and other aircraft. 4) Adding new accessiblity based oon what I have done for F-4 / F-8 / F-86 sabre and Sabre Dog that carries IRM / F-89 I want to share some interesting notes about AD / A-1 Skyradiers: For DAY based AD / A- there is only one type of gunsight for AA and AG mode. However, for Day and Night version of AD, such as A-4NL and other series designed for night mission, there are two type of sights; Night mode (AA mode) Day Sight (Normal Sight - AG Mode) And news about F-89 series; I did some re-working on them as I revisited them, I realied I have two version of F-89s packs, so I went for the latest one by Wrench (F-89 remod v3) and woked on it from there with cockpits / radar / Optical sights. For F-89D / H / J There are two version fo sights, which is modifeid N-9 sight. the AA version will have regular sight, while the AG version have an extra symbol near to bottom part of modifeid N-9, which is desigend for rockets. With that, you can switch between AA / AG mode for normal or rocket version of modified N-9. And the optional accessiblity feature feels very fitting as well! when there is a lock on aircraft by radar, the small bracket appears: when AAM ahve lock on target (SAHM or IRM) Now revisiting F-102, F-106, F-51 (P-51), and MiG-15 before finishing off F-4s. @dtmdragon Thank you for telling me about the depresed sight. recenlty went through F-8A/B, F-8D/E, and F-8H/J flight manuals, there is no menitons of depression. I am going to fix it, so there is no depressed sight for air to ground attack mode. Cheers! -

Hello everyone! After fixing all A-4s to have solid tilted reflector glass (Thank you Lex2Limit!), I began working on F-8 series, revisitng all to have latest updates; 1) By default, for NAV mode, the sight is turend off. To turn it back on, switch to AA or AG mode. And when gun mode is selected, the gyro lead computing sight will appear 2) the refelctor glass is fully tilted now, instead of "HUD method" 3) Fixed the depression for bomb, both A-4s and F-8s now have depressed sight when selecting bombs. 4) New optional accessiblity as shown in prevous A-4 Skyhawk, the solid circile will appear when IRM have lock on target. Thank you for the information! How did you manage to find the name of texture file? I wouuld like to learn from you. That way, for all aircraft, I can find the texture file name and create the actual reflector glass / HUD tilted colors. Eagle114th -

Hello everyone! I have a report to share about the big progress on A-4 series pack: After finishing working on Israel A-4Ns, after learning how to check to ensure that the optical sight is properly aligned with the depressed gun for both AA and AG, for either cockpit method or HUD methods, I discovered that some of the A-4 wasn't properly aligned. So I went through A-4A - B - C - E - F - L - M, A-4G, A-4K, A-4 E - F - H - N Ayit and re-checking and ffixing any mis-aligned optical sight and gun aim angle. Here is screenshots of A-4N (Early) with AN/APG-145 radar: (NOTE: Since the information on this radar is not yet found, I am basing it on Early A-4M (1971)'s radar.) 1980s version of A-4N Ayit (With LGB capability) A-4N AyitM (Modernized) - 2000s version, the gunsight and in AA mode, the 'leading lines are re-made in higher resolution, I hope you like it! Next, the Argentina A-4P (A-4B), A-4C, and A-4AR Fightinghawk are completed as well! Here is A-4AR with ARG-1 V2 (AN/APG-66) texture (NOTE: This texture and HUD is based on the wonderful work of BANIDOS-TEAM and DTMDragon) By the way, the folder structure have been updated and changed; Here is an example of A-4 Skyhawk folders: What we can see, each fo folders have the updatd avionic files that are designed for each mods made by modders, including thirdwire. For example, if you want files for thirdwire only, then you sue folder "THIRDWIRE'. if you have DTMDragon's A-4N Ayit, A-4M Skyhawk II, and other A-4s, then you go to the fodler "DTMDRAGON". That way, it is easy for any of us to know which files belong to TW or mods made by various modders. Finally, this is my favorite part; Turn on/off sights (SIGHT MODE) for pre-HUD for early cold war aircraft. When you are either on land, parking taxing, or crusing in NAV mode, the sight is off by dfault. To turn optical sight on, you switch to AA or AG MODE or by changing sight mode. NOTE: All aircraft with actual HUD, it is always enabled by default, especaily for all HUD mods. Nnext, optional accessiblity part, it is the most fun part of working with the optical sight! Spent some of time designing it as 'what if' it was made in the early cold war era, something that is lore-friendly, very simple and 'could have happened". So I came up with this: WHen IRM have the lock on target, the solid small circle will appear on front, center of optical sight. I still need to be careful who I actualy have lock on. A-4s Skyhawk is finally completed. Now moving on to A-1, F-8 and other aircraft, to revisit and see if there is any thing needs fixing. Eagle114th -

@starfighter2 The A-4M and A-4AR cockpits looks GREAT!!! I would love to include them in SF - CAP pack when you release them with yourr names in the credit page! I look forward updating the wonderful cockpits you are doing with the avionics I am making for A-4M and A-4Ns! I recently managed to get ARBS TV and HUD fixed and tweaked. Here is the lastest progress with both HUD and TV: (NOTE: By adding the ARBS by data.ini, it does not use the hue colors as deafult TV uses, so in order, to try my best to fix this, the tilted grayish green color is applied on the ARBS TV.) There is an interesting discovery I made about the angle of camera of ARBS TV; You can edit the angle fo camera to accurately match the gun angle too, if that is hwat you desire. Here is codes from both DtmDragon / Nyghtfall cockpits of A-4Ms: See the code: For example, DTMDragon's A-4M (1978)'s data file for boresight and gun angle: And in cockpit.ini: And in the avionic.ini: And then if you set the camera CameraAngles=0.0,-1.5,0.0 Then it will match the gun firing angle besides using it for angle bombing attacks. @Lex2Limit Hello Lex2Limit, I found the issues with inverted (up-side) TV cam when switching to ARBS TV. The issue is this code: If you set it more than 180, this may have caused TV to be upside. So I reduced it to 25.00000 and it is back to correct view. Now that is solved, I am able to have correct working ARBS TV for A-4M and A-4N series! Eagle114th -

@Lex2Limit That is true, I am attempting to fix it. Right now i am tryhing to fix the AA MODE HUD to ahve depressed gun (GunBoresightAngle=-1.5), it does not work It only work for AG mode (with CCIP for gun) I am currently working on A-4N Ayit series which also use A-4M cockpits. This is problem: When switching to gun for AA mode, when firing, it still shoots shells below the gun sight: However, when switching to AG mode for gun, it aligns with the sight: UPDATE: I DID IT! Got it fixed. What solves the problem is this code: Had to set -1.5 at the middle part (Y Y value) for depressed AA. What i laerned is, the value in GunBoresightAngle= and AimAngles in data and avionic file, then I msut edit ViewAngles to match that. Now I have proper alignment of the gun sight and gun for both AA and AG. Mission accomlpished! now I need to fix the inverted TV when switching to that via radar switching mode. Eagle114th -

Hello everyone! Real liofe have been keeping me busy for a while. Got back workong on the mod projects; Going through A-4s and revisiting them, I realizedf that I am missing A-4M. Reading from the fligh tmanuals and researching, it is very interesting information! A-4M originally started with radar and fixed gunsight like earlier variatns of A-4s: Please note, this fligh tmanual is from 1971, when A-4M began being in the service. However, in the later upgrades, the cockpit is changed with more advancved avionics, such as HUD while radar is removed. I am workong on both DTMDragon and Nyghtfall cockpits for both of their A-4Ms pack. It is unfortuante that there is no TV screen attached ot the cockpit, so unless there is A-4M cockpit mods, like DTMDragon and Nyghtfall, I am using the cockpits that they are using as the closest to the A-4M cockpit. By the way, the HUD have been tweaked and updated, along with the glass tilts (green-bluish shade), changed HUD color, and higher quality of optical sights. The TV texture have been chagned as well, while using the updated TV from the projects on F-4 Phantom II series. Flowing A-4 Skyhawk series proejcts are almost completed, will go thorugh F-8s, F-89s, F-102, and F-106 next. WHen all aircraft receives the updates with up to date HUD / Replacing old system withi new systems for accessiblity/ other avionics parts, then SF - CAP will finally move on from Alpha to Beta version! I am happy with the new sytem so far, will use it for rest of next many more aircraft to work on. UPDATE: I forgot to add, the A_4s seriers now include the updated .ini files from great mods of Wrench / Nyghtfalls / Crusade r for all TW A-4s. I am currenlty working on Israel A-4s based onthe mod packs by DTMDragon. This mod pack includes the updated avionics files for both TW and modder's mod packs. Eagle114th -

Hello everyone! The F-4 are almost completed! In meanwhile, I am revisiting the A-4 series and the Israel's A-4E (1973) and A-4H (1973) are being further improved with the HUD, based on excellent work of DTMDragon. the gun sight are also polished in higher resolution. I do not have the detailed information on the HUD. If anyone have the information on it, please send it ot me. screenshot: (ZOOM IN) Eagle114th -

Good morning Lex2Limit, That is noted and no worries. We all have our own preferences in various era. At least,we love F-4s Phantom II! I am very glad that I work on F-4s avionics as you and our modders do, it opened me into the world of F-4s that I did not know about. For example, how Jappanese F-4EJ KAI, Western Germany F-4F (ICE), Israel F-4E 2000, and othe F-4s evolving from F-4E in different ways with upgrades. It is vey interesting leaning days. By the way, thank you for sharing the videso that takes you years to find. I am continuing to seek for what I seek for and hope ot find them someday. Cheers! -

@Lex2Limit Taht is excellent videos! You have a great library of the resources. I would like to request if you have the information on the following aircraft: A-4s optical sight, F-89H / J optical sight, F-89J radar scope, F-102 and F-106 optical sight and radar (video), and finaly Mark 11 Mod 2 gunsight used by F-8C. they are so difficult to find, so I am hoping you might have the clues on them. Hello everyone, Along with excellent works shown by Lex2Limit, I wouldlike to show the owrks I have been doing on F-4F (ICE). What I learend is that F-4F (ICE) uses AN/APG-65, which is also used by F/A-18A I believe. I do not have the information on what the radar scope looks like, so I base it on the F/A-18A for now. (NOTE: F-4F ICE does not have HUD, instead they still use AN/ASG-26 LCOSS from earlier F-4F series. The cockpit is based o nthe great work of Ravenclaw_007: Eagle114th -

Hello everyone, I am currenlty re-woorking on the accessiblity after learning about GunsightMissileAcqName= and GunsightMissileLockName= (THANK YOU Lex2Limit!). I LOVE the result because it s what allows me to experience the challenges of early AAMs, as hearing people do. For example, by using HUD_SRM< it feels off because it's like using momdenr HHUD in early 50s to 70s before HUD comes into exists. It was the only thing I figured as the solution to the accesssiblity issues. Now with the visual firing cues, by using symbols that would appear when missie is acquring and lock on target while being careful not to lock on wrong targets. It was thrilling experiences! Here is an example with F-4B and optional new accessiblity feature: this design is simliar to what was used on F-4D early LCOSS: AAM acquiring target (to simulate IRM growling visually) IRM ahving a lock (IRM growling louder) At th same time, with excellent feedback from Menrva and our fellow modders, I am re-workinog on the color hues of the HUD glass. It is true that the HUD glass used by F-4 AUP, F-4EJ, F-4E 2020, and other aircraft with HUD have sorta green / blue hue. By experimentin gwith the balance between green / blue and darkenss of the texture and alpha setting, I am able to find the best balance so far: I am in progress going through all F-4s for optional accessiblity feature upgrades while double checking the radar, optical sight, HUD, and other avoinics for any issues. I will be updating another aircraft as well before releasing the next version of SF2 - CAP. Cheers! -

Ah I see! Thaht is smart idea! It is true that there are pro and cons to the avionics60 and 70 dlls, I wish that TK would have built one avionic file that contains all types of avionic dlls together. That would be more convenience. By the way, I am looking forward trying the new avionics you are doing! Eagle114th -
