Hello everyone! I want to share this with everyone. It have been humbly learning progres since a few days working on F-4s LOADOUT.ini and researches. It is like Daddyplane said, researching and finding information take most of our times. He is right. I also want to admit that I previously thought F-4s had the ability to carry AIM-9M and AIM-7M. I was wrong and I am happy I did further research to ensure loadout is tweaked more accurately. Now with the tweaks done, the latest AIM-9s and AIM-7s F-4s can carry is AIM-9P and AIM-97F for the late 1970s to 1980s. However, I want to talk a bit more about F-4s. In the late-era SF2 F-4s, by default, they will have loadout with the AIM-9P and AIM-7F. What I realized is that AIM-9L was reserved for newer aircraft such as F-15s, F-16s, and other aircraft. However, you still can manually load AIM-9L on F-4s which actually happened rarely in real life. According to the research, in the Vietnam war, early F-4D was armed with AIM-4D Falcon. Then later in the 1969, they would get phased out while being re-wired to use Sidewinder. In SFCE, early F-4D (1966 - 1968) have loadout.ini to carry AIM-4D but you still can manually change load to AIM-9B or E. However, for next version of F-4D (67) and onward, will be loaded with sidewinder by default. Same thing with early F-4E. I want to talk about userlist. I can see how TK is being efficient with it as stated previously, there is pro and con to it. For pro part, it make it easy to clone aircraft with exact same aircraft data and weapon stations. The con part is that, it does not work with other aircraft that uses different weapons, including AAMs. For example, with Iranian F-4s, userlist allow Iranian F-4s to use all what USAF F-4s could use, which is historically inaccurate. I had to split various foreigner F-4s out from USAF F-4s, in order, to give them an accurate AAMs and updated loadout.ini. I wish TK is still working on SF2 so they could add this codes which would make userlist system being perfect and efficient. For example, if TK ever added an extra line like this in aircraft data ini. Finally, another thing that got me stumped was researching the specific AAMs for various nations that use F-4s, such as Spain C.12, South Korea F-4, and others. Finally got an answer to it, thanks to friends who introduced me to this website: Sipri database website https://www.sipri.org/databases/armstransfers With this, you can find information on which specific AAMs are sent to nations for certain aircraft. With this, accurate information can be found! This is where I find out that C.12 (F-4C) got orders of AIM-9P only, along with a few variants of AIM-7s. UPDATE: It turns out that even the trade registry database does not cover everything. It is like if I found pieces of dinosaur fossils with some parts missing. I would have to theorize how dinosaur looks like based on what I have. Same thing with the data on various aircraft loadout. I am unable to find the earlier IRM for C.12, and in order, to fill the missing gap for IRM needed for F-4C, it makes logical sense that C.12 would have AIM-9J prior to AIM-9P. Hello everyone, I am currently working on overhauling loadout for various aircraft, there is one thing I am wondering about. Does SF2 automatically replace IRM or SAHM with newer one as soon they are available? Or are they stuck with one variant of IRM or SAHM until their service year runs out? Eagle114th -

Hello everyone! Report for today: After asking questions about the loadout system in SF2. I noticed that AI keeps one variant of AAM based on what is read from loadout.ini. That breaks the immerisve experience for me, especially when they use one AAM until end of the service when newer AAM already come out. After asking the question at this thread: https://combatace.com/forums/topic/97452-question-about-loadoutini-being-automatic-with-weapons/ This confirms the concern I had with the loadout system. This is what gives me more reasons to overhaul AAM in loadout, so aircraft use newer variants or another type of AAM based on the nation's aircraft and years. After working on Iranian and Egyptian F-4Es, I decided to check USN and USAF F-4s. This is what I saw, only AIM-9B for early F-4B when they could use AIM-9B and then AIM-9D as soon they become available. Same thing with the AIM-7s situation by changing from AIM-7D to AIM-7E and then E-2, and the next variants. || So I rolled the sleeves and started working on all USN F-4Bs, then J and N variants. I am quite happy with the result. However, since I am not an expert with the air-to-ground ordinances, I will leave them alone for now. When I get the information and help with it, I will happily overhaul that part. Here is an example with F-4J Phantom II, this is the following AAM they will shift through from 1966 to 1983: Now that USN F-4s are completed, USAF F-4s are being worked on at the moment. There is another thing that also bothers me and that is how the vortex work. The higher speed I go, the more vortex stretch backward and would sink through the wing toward the bottom when pulling high Gs. There is one thing that gave me an "AH" moment. I am going to study the F-16 vortex and see if I can make the vortex stay in place at any speed. When AAM loadout overhaul for other aircraft that went through an overhaul and wing vortex being done, the work on Hawker Hunter and other aircraft will be restored. Thought so. Thank you for the explanation. That is what I was concerned about. The reason why I ask is that I noted how AI keeps using the same variant of AAM until service run out, which breaks an immersive for me. That gives me more reasons to work on aircraft loadout so they will load the next variant or other types of IRM depending on the years. Cheers -

Need help with 'DefaultFor=' for Attack in loadout

Hello everyone, I am having some issues with [Attack] and DefaultFor= when trying to use AIM-9P-1. It works for other role such as [AirToAir], [AirToAirLongRange], [Recon] and other. It doesn't work for [Attack]. Does anyone have problems trying to load IRM for different years for [Attack]? I am re-configuring Iranian F-4D for more accurate AAM. I am still researching and seeking for the information on air to ground ordinances. For now the air to ground loadout is not touched until I get more information on this. Any help with this is welcomed too! I agree with you after opening a paradox box when realizing the inaccurate of loadout for export aircraft, such as Iranian and Eygptian F-4s and other aircraft besides Germany F-104Gs. I can understand why TK wanted to do it in efficient way by sharing multi-nation for each aircraft by userlist.ini. It is smart method BUT it lead to the inaccurate of the certain aicraft performance, weapon station in data.ini, and the loadout.ini. May I ask for your help with F-104Gs and A-7s weapon data and loadout? I am still looking for the information on both aircraft. For now I am overwhelmed with SFCE project. So the help is appreciated. If the book I got reference from is incorrect, please let me know and I will still correct the loadout by removing AIM-9P-1. I still will share it with you, just in case if you haven't seen it. "Osprey - Combat Aircraft 037 - Iranian F-4 Phantom II Units In Combat" From one of the page in the air to air kills in Iran-Iraq War: May I ask you a few more questions for you if you don't mind, it is related to Eygpt aircraft: What kind of AIM-9s and AIM-7s does Egyptian F-4s, carry? And which AIM-9s does their Mirage 5SEE and 5E2 carry? Does Eygptian F-9 (J-9 Farmer), MiG-19s, besides specific MiG-21 ever get modified to carry AIM-9s? Sorry for asking too much questions. I feel like I just opened a paradox box when researching Iranian F-4Ds and F-4Es loadout after realizing SF2 got various aircraft loadout incorrect. Hello everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. I am taking a break this weekend too due to the real life. However, I am sharing what I have been working on for a few days. The weapons are being overhauled with mods that make them more accurate while new add-on ordinances are being added and maintained. I have thought again about how to improve existing tags and implemented them. It will be more simple and user-friendly when looking through the list. I am using the weapon pack by Ravenclaw_007 and Crusader. By the way, when I flew the SF2 mission and there was many variants of GBU-10s, 12s, and other. I have no idea how they are different from each other. And now with research, I am able to add the information which guidance and what kind of aerial bombs they are based on. Now this time, I can tell which ordinance to select for any kind of mission. I am still polishing and improving any of the tags further through testing in SF2. The goal is to keep it simple, clean, readable, and friendly-user when looking through the list. When looking for the ordinance, the first thing I look at naturally is tag such as [Bomb-type], [DT], [GP], [RBCB], [IIRM], [EOGB], etc... Then look at the weapons and the information in brackets. When looking for the rocket pods [RP], you can see the information on which kind of rockets it carries on the left section while selecting the specific RP you want on the right section. No more rocket pod and rocket information running out of the space when being displayed. For the next version of beta, the additional notes that explain the tag will be added to the note. So everyone can use it as a reference. F-104s are completed and I am moving on to the next UK aircraft after the break this weekend. Cheers!- 124 replies

Hello everyone! Report for today: While finishing working on F-104s, it is envitable that I keep adding the add-on weapons to SFCE. SF2 have been missing what is needed for aircraft such as F-104G (Germany) and other nation's ordinance. I still stand on the decision of not adding any add-on aircraft or skins so anyone can build the mods upon SFCE. However, there are many aircraft I want to add to SFCE and that is when new idea came out. After SFCE and Avionics overhaul is completed, I am going to work on SFCE Add-on where people can add to SFCE. For example, A-6s annd EA-6Bs super pack, F-104s super pack, and other packs. By the way, with the new add-on weapons, I realized another thing. There is no point keeping original TW weapons when mods overhaul SF2 weapons to become more accurate. I am now overwriting SF2 with mods that correct and fix the weapons. Due to the growth of the weapons, I added the tags so it become easier to navigate through it. it helped me a lot when looking for certain ordinances for specific roles for various missions. The name tags are still being worked on. You can see various tags, such as [Bomb-LDGP / LL / GP / FFD / CB / LL / Etc...] Same thing with (IRM / SAHM / SARH / AHM / TV / LP / Etc...) for both AAM and AGM. In case if you wonder what they stand for? LDGP = Low drag general purpose GP = General purpose LL = Low level CB = cluster bomb EP = Electronic Pod I want to express big thanks to the modders including Ravenclaw_007, Crusader, and others who worked hard on overhauling the weapons for SF2. They are what gives SF2 enriched experiences in combat. Now next report, here is screenshots of F-104C: In SFCE, all F-104s use high-quality cockpit from the F-104 megapack. The radar scope is tweaked to match TW style for default SFCE. As mentioned previously, the proper radar scope texture and colors will be included in the SFCE Avionics overhaul. Hello everyone! There is one more thing I want to discuss about; My plan for SFCE and SFCE Avionics overhaul As you can see, add-on cockpits have unique radar scope texture. I am going to use that for SFCE Avionics overhaul. For now, I intend to keep SFCE using TW style radar with black background: The reason for this decision is that many other TW aircraft use radar scope with background too. It preserves your familiarity with the usage of the radar in any aircraft in SFCE. However, in the SFCE Avionics overhaul, it is planned for all aircraft to have historical radar scope colors and textures. This includes having Su-9 radar scope texture restored too: However, due to the hardcoded SF2 limitation, for now, we can not change the specific radar symbols or changing the colors. This is why I believe in balancing the readability and immersive. To do this, I will darken the radar scope texture, so there will be more contrast between green radar symbols and background color whie keeping the radar scope texture/color as possible. Report for today: While working on CF-104s and F-104s overhaul, when the afterburner was created based on J79 effects. I realized something; When I started working on SFCE for the first time, I went wild with the effects and visual overhaul. Then now this time, I set the balance between being ambitious and being practical with the goals due to SF2 engine limitation. The reason for this is that SF2 have many hardcoded limitation. There are many times I truly wished that SF2 have more accessibility to the moddability. This also includes the wing vortex, afterburner, and other effects. It makes sense to not push against the limitation of SF2 too much, it may cause unstable problems. For example, when I tried adding wing vortex to A-6s and EA-6s, I could not go beyond components[032], anything beyond that won't work. When working on the wing vortex, I always make sure to never pass components[030] so it has room for other components, in case someone wants to mod it in. The same thing with the 'FakeEngine1", it makes better sense to only clone one engine for engine node animation, inner afterburner, outer afterburner, and exhaust smoke. I decided to erase "Afterburner Ring" because it looks great in pictures but doesn't match when running in-game. I spent many hours trying to make a 'diamond/ring' afterburner shape stay in one place instead of moving away from the plane. There are no codes that make the afterburner effect freeze in place, then spawn the next effect after that. I decided to go with a more simple method; Engine node -> Inner afterburner -> Outer afterburner -> Engine exhaust smoke After studying the videos of the F-104s engine (J79s variants), it came out great! Report for today: Su-9 weapon data have gone through major overhaul, thank to Wrench and Pasko's excellent Su-9s mods. Su-9 drop tank and Soviet early AAMs is added to SFCE as well. Here is the list of AAM you can use with Su-9: Note: I reserved TW version of AA-1B for in case if anyone want to use it. I added the name -TW-, so you know which is TW and added weapons. Now that Su-9 is completed, I am moving on to next USA aircraft. The next version of beta will be released after next several planes go through overhauls. Eagle114th- 124 replies

Hello everyone! Report for today: Su-7 and Su-9 is being worked on now. The afterburner video was another challenge to find like MiG-19. Found an ancient video that shows afterburner! However, even though it does not show the color, it still gave me an idea after watching Su-22 videos. Su-7 and Su-9 are powered by Lyulka AL-7 while Su-22 is powered by Lyulka AL-21 turbojet with afterburner. Even though Su-7 / 9 and Su-22 uses different engine, it still made by Lyulka and it may give me best ideas about the afterburner colors.
